    Chicken Pad Thai

On my back from Sedona, AZ, felt hungry and did not wamt to wait till i got back to the Phoenix area so i searched Yelp for Thai food near me. Thai Garden came up in the search with 4.5 star rating and it was less than 10 miles detour off I-17. It's a small but very nice Mom and Pop Thai restaurant. Authentic in my opinion. I arrived around 2 pm. One patron was leaving and one table was occupied. There is a small tap bell to alert the host that someone is there. I hit the bell and the hostess came to assist me. It is choose you own table. I sat near the window and was promptly served the menu and a glass of water. After viewing the menu for a few minutes, she was back to take my order - papaya salad and chicken Pad Thai. See pictures. Both of the dishes were tasty - not the best that I have experienced but good, fresh ingredients and hit the spot! Portion sizes just enough to not over eat! Prices are reasonable too! For a small restaurant in the mountains of AZ, yes its 5 star.

Thai Garden - you killed it. Thank you! After a week in AZ from HI, and being on the 3rd day of the flu which decimated our appetites, we finally made it to support local. Up to this point we had tried to eat at several places in Sedona successfully completing 1/10th our food before giving up due to no appetite. Just for reference - this is absolutely NOT normal for me and the bf. Tired, after a bit of hiking and still recovering from the flu we ordered out food and sat willingly but not very hopeful after so many failed attempts to finish our food. Then the food came. It was familiar and comforting as it reminded us of home. And we at it all. All. And not just because it was familiar, it really wad surprisingly good. I was kind of doubtful being way out in a small town, but it was really well prepared. In HI, Thai restaurants can be found everywhere and they are all owned by Thai/Laos people. We eat it at least once a week. The food here was equally good. I guess being not that crowded just throws me off as in Hawaii almost all decent restaurants are max capacity at meal times. But then again maybe we were a little early because it started to fill up by the time we left. The early sunsets also throws me off. Lol 10/10 definitely be back again!

Not even 1 star. That place was horrible. I don't know who gave them the 5 stars. Maybe their family ? The server who was Thai lady so freaking rude and charged my tip by herself. Even we are only 3 people not even more than 5 people. She looks like the owner but she said I am not the owner. Don't go there. Also the worst Thai food and service in my life.

Yummy stop along the road to Montezuma Wells. The service was friendly and the tables clean. The Thai ice tea and coffee were refreshing. We recommend the noodle dishes, but not the yellow curry (it had too much water and wasn't even yellow).

On our stay out in Rima Rock, AZ, we stumbled upon this Thai Garden establishment really, off the road! Rima Rock is a stay town adjacent to Sedona and part of the Verde Valley in northern Arizona so there are not a lot of places to dine in. After reading some reviews, I decided to take the family out to this place and check it out ourselves; since we have dined at numerous Thai restaurants from Texas to California and are acclimated to the taste from these type of food -- I mean we are Cambodians after all-- Thailand is Cambodia's Neighbor! Parking is plentiful as this restaurant sits on the main road from the FWY exits so finding the place was very easy. Now, we went pretty late in the evening around 8:15pm and the restaurant closes at 8:30pm. When we got in, the waitress had to check with the chef to see if it's not too late to serve. We were very blessed and fortunate to have dine in that late because we were so hungry. The beautiful waitress got our menus, got our drinks and we went ahead and ordered our meal -- we didn't need to look at the menu since we already knew what we want -- we are simple minded Asian folks. I ordered the traditional Red Curry w/ Rice, my wife got the Thai Boat Noodles, and my son got the Pad Thai Noodles. The order came out really quick. When I glanced over to the kitchen, I spotted an elder women cooking -- you know immediately this is home cooking meal now! We finished our meal pretty quick as we didn't want to keep the place waiting for us. The food was fantastic. The Red Curry was as excellent as traditional cooking goes. Spice was just right. The Thai Boat soup base was very very good. The only thing lacking was the traditional veggies that usually supplant Thai Boat Noodles which should have been Water Spinach, Water Cress, and other exotic Asian veggies; instead, they Americanized it with Broccoli, Carrots, etc. The Pad Thai on the other hand was a bit tooo sweet. Now, this is not normally sweet of you cook it the traditional way. Sweeting the Pad Thai nowadays has become a norm for the masses because they just live sweets. Wait until you taste traditional Pad Thai -- those are home secret cooking! Other than that, the meals were great! Great presentation of food as well as the service. Our waitress really took care of us and was very patient with us even 30 minutes after closing. We'll be back to try the other items if we are in town visiting again.

Got a hotel in Rimrock area and found this amazing Thai place. Don't be deceived of its location and outside look! Really good Thai food and the server was very friendly and attending. The place itself was very clean. My family and I enjoyed it so much that we decided to go back the following night to try more of their food.

Just immediately seemed unpleasant upon entering. The worst was, after I ordered, they informed me, "We have no ginger." Argh. That's like showing up at a local tavern and being told, "Sorry we have no beer today." Then close the bloody place. Ginger is an essential ingredient of Thai cooking. My curry was delivered boiling hot. Literally. For the next 15 minutes I had to be pouring in cold water to be able to consume the food. But they also seem to use no spices. Hospital food, I would call it. The portions are large, but if the food is not good, what's the point. Plus, the staff's English is poor enough that it was hard to communicate what I wanted. We have no high-end Thai restaurants in Verde Valley. But all the Thai restaurants I have visited in Sedona, VOC, and Cottonwood were at least decent. This place would not know "decent" if it hit them on the head with a 2x4. (One detail of explanation: WZ Bistro in Cottonwood is a Pan-Asian place. Their Japanese menu is great, but the Thai there is no better than Baan Baan).

Oh my what happened to this restaurant Mai Thai on Main?…read more We used to love to come here but will NEVER return!! Consider other options for Thai in Cottonwood or Sedona. saving your dollars and choose another Thai restaurant, this was an awful experience! First let me start with the ambience the atmosphere absolutely unwelcoming so don't believe their website generous portions of curry is false advertising and another disappointment. We had a small bowl served to us on a larger plate of the Massaman Curry with chicken. and an order of shrimp rolls. I did not order off the lunch menu. Next this person by the name of "Lucas" (I asked him his name that's how I know) definitely shouldn't be doing the job as a server, (a better position would be in the kitchen washing dishes with no face-to-face contact with customers), might have given him a pass thinking it was having a bad day but not so. We were the second table in the restaurant at 1:30 and what I witnessed was unacceptable! Hardly anyone in the place and we should have known and gotten up and left then. This Lucas person posing as a server had an attitude with a grudge or something. When we finally got our food delivered 25 min later by a Kitchen worker (not our server) we got these fried vegetarian egg rolls when we ordered shrimp rolls. When I finally flagged him down to let him know, (he was sitting at the bar watching TV) I was told oh I must've hit the wrong button did you want me to order you those shrimp rolls...? Duh! No manager on site was told they don't have a manager just an owner. Sheesh he was sitting at the bar. ( sidenote Lucas should be retrained or replaced, No exceptions) Restaurant shame on them... Additionally a fee of 3% is charged if you use your credit card they want cash only. I understand that most places are doing this now but was never disclosed anyway. I could go on but will not. Since I'm enjoying my own home-cooked Thai meal. Do yourselves a favor, save your dollars or spend it with someone more appreciative and with those who enjoy their job, have a little pride, and more importantly respect the customers that come in to spend their money. Stay away from this place unless you like being treated poorly, can choke down some crappy food and like paying extra for smaller portions. Left frustrated, unfulfilled, and Mad I wasted mine and my friends time ... Boo to you, "Mai Thai on main" ...

The large tom yum soup didn't taste like what I'm used to eating at other Thai restaurants. I loved all the veggies and chicken inside the soup; however, the actual flavors for tom yum soup were not there: 2/5. I would not get this again. Plus, it just came in a bowl and not the usual large soup apparatus that it comes in with a gel candle on bottom to keep it hot the whole time. My friend got the pineapple curry, and it looked and tasted too watered down. I wouldn't order that again. I tried the beef satay, and that wasn't that great either. The quality of meat was lacking. It wasn't that tender, and it didn't have char on it. I don't think it was grilled at all. The meat looked like it was Mongolian beef from a fast food Chinese place. The peanut sauce was okay. The pickled cucumber and onion on the side were too sweet. The rice was soft and nice to eat. Their veggie eggrolls were delicious. Good size, nice crisp, tasty filling. Great appetizer: 5/5.
