Beggars can't be choosers this far west of the city but the Thai food here compares with the better Thai food I have had anywhere. I highly recommend the Thai roles to get started. I was really hungry and finished my entire dish but my wife had plenty of leftovers. Served with brown rice which I sometimes don't like because of the texture but was not the case here. Staff was extremely courteous and the food arrived quickly. When walking through the door I was a bit perplexed by the tight quarters and abundance of fake fauna but don't let that stop you. My wife and I order take out from here about twice a month. We have never really strayed from our favorite Spicy Pad Thai, and we always get an order of the Thai rolls. When they have them, which seems kind of random, we also get the house rolls. Spicy Pad Thai: Huge portion, enough for 3. flavors meld well, just enough heat, and the chicken is 90% good. Occasionally it is rubbery. It may come with fried tofu, which I like in moderation, but my wife picks out. Thai rolls: 4 crispy rolls of goodness. I have no idea what's in them, but don't really care. Anything fried and dipped in the accompanying sweet chili sauce is always a hit. House rolls: chicken, carrot, lettuce, cilantro rolled in a sticky wonton wrapper. 2 rolls are rather big and affordable. We have never eaten in the dining room. the first time we ever ordered take out there, I was so put off by the run down decor, clutter and the smell that can only be characterized as a moderately sized home heating oil spill. I'm not sure when they last renovated the place, but it wasn't in my lifetime. The owners are always there- and although the woman has a short snippy demeanor, you'll always get what you want. The gentleman is much nicer and quieter. Apparently they serve a fabulous soup when you dine-in. I asked to buy some for take out one night, but was told no! they also will not serve a take out dish with rice unless you specifically ask, and then there is a small charge. I had friends in from out of town and they were amazed that rice wasn't standard with those saucy dishes. I never knew... read more

We moved and I really miss this place. Mixed Vegetable Cashew Nut was always my favorite and they'd make it extra spicy when requested. I have been going to this restaurant for many years, and am always amazed that the owner not only remembers my name, but my kids, sister, and everybody else in my family. Not only is the service great here, but the food is even better. This is what Thai food should be. They do not have so many dishes that they have problems preparing anything, they just have the right amount. The Pad Thai is worth the trip, and the grap pao dish with pork is also amazing. Great Satay (both beef and chicken), and a good selection of vegetarian choices that actually taste great. The Tom Yum soup should be renamed the "Tom Yum Yum" soup because it is that delicious. Found this place a little remote to go and have gone back twice now. We love it there. The scallion pancakes and spring rolls are to die for. The food wasn't greasy what you get with most pad Thai joints. This is one of our go to spots.i'm a Chinese food lover and this is converting me over. Love it keep up the good work guys! read more

I just stopped in for lunch and had some Tom Yum noodle soup with chicken. I find nothing more pleasant in the winter months than a hot bowl of Tom Yum soup. Especially if you are feeling a little under the weather. When it's done well it can be like a shot of b12 to your soul. And Thai Chili has the best I've ever tasted. Without question the best Thai in the region. Located right on Main St in downtown Maynard, you'll pass it if you blink. The restaurant is very small yet inviting. The family that runs it are very attentive and gracious to any request that you have. If I could give 0 stars I would. The lady was very, very rude. I got take- out and she made me pay before giving me my order. After getting my order I realized it was wrong. She yelled at me and walked away. Her husband also came out and yelled at me. I also found a black hair baked in the spring roll (which I didn't even order in the first place). I will never be going back there, nor will I ever recommend this to anyone. In fact I would discourage people from going here. This place is a gem. The food was wonderful, the ambience small and very pleasant, and the service very welcoming. For appetizers, we had the chicken satay, spring rolls and dumplings, which were all very good. Of the entrees, my favorite was the Thai basil with scallops, but we also had the garlic pork, a chicken dish with pineapple and green peppers and chicken with broccoli. My wife liked the red curry with beef and shrimp the best. The Thai pad noodles with chicken were also very good, but we preferred some of the other dishes. We tried this place because of the great reviews and it did not disappoint at all. We were there early on a Friday evening so it was pretty quiet. The menu was easy to read and there were a nice variety of specials on a white board posted near the front door. We each got a Thai ice tea that was generous in size and full of flavor. For a starter we had the the fresh spring roll with shrimp and a nice tamarind sauce. The entrees we had the crazy noodle special and the fried chicken pad thai. The crazy noodles were really flavorful with a good amount of duck, broccoli, and carrots. I asked for the the pad thai to be spicy to offset the sweetness that pad thai usually has outside of Thailand. It was a great combo in the end. The fried chicken on top had a nice breading and plenty of flavor. The proportions were rather large and enough for a leftover meal for each of us. The service was prompt and polite. Small, hidden and simply wonderful Thai food. Fresh vegetables cooked perfectly. any level of spice is accommodated to customers. The combinations melt in your mouth like butter. The portions are so large that it allows for day after delicious leftovers! The staff greet and serve with manners and efficiency. what a lovely meal from appetizers through dessert. Been ordering out from this place for a few years, and every time we get reliably tasty Thai. I wouldn't nececssarily make a special trip just to visit this place, but if you are in the area you won't find better Thai food. I'm a sucker for a good Massaman and they've got what I need. Pad Thai (the true yardstick for any Thai food establishment) is solid and won't dissapoint. The beef satay here is incredible, best I have had. I am subtracting a star for the lack of a drunken noodle dish (which the other Thai place in town has BTW) and just average pad thai, IMO. I've gone to Thai Chili since I was very, very young - and every time I am reminded why it is not only my favorite Thai in the area but the best I have ever eaten. All food is cooked to perfection and the Thai Iced tea hits the spot no matter what time of year it is.
