Maybe I picked the wrong menu item as I see others rave about the food. Chinese food is very subjective and I prefer either Chicago or east coast variety's. Had dinner here the other night with my husband and his brother and wife. The place looked clean to me. I don't know what it is with Chinese restaurants but they usually always have a table for the staff to work at. Not really sure I like that. We were seated right away. Staff is very friendly. We had potstickers and crab puffs for appetizers. We ordered Kung Pao chicken, Generals chicken, Mongolian beef and I ordered flamed broiled pork over vermicelli with an egg roll. It was all delicious. The food came out quickly and the portions were good. We paid with a credit card and my husband noticed that there was a $4.00 charge for using a credit card. I didn't see anywhere on the menu or in the restaurant that they do this. So my husband takes it off their tip. He's not a fan of that. Sorry no pictures, I'm terrible about that. read more

I was ready for lunch and Silver Chopsticks was in the strip center with UPS. They offer many entrees but I chose the lunch menu. Smaller portions of house specialities with the bonus of hot and sour or egg drop soup and plain or BBQ pork fried rice. Mongolian beef with BBQ fried rice after the egg drop soup was a nice lunch. Too often beef in dishes is under seasoned and occasionally tough. Not today! The soy sauce and green onions were the perfect complement to the tender sweet and salty beef. I enjoyed the fried rice as well. This restaurant deserves several visits in the evening preferably with a group so we could share and taste more entrees. Looking forward to that soon. read more

I went to Silver Chopsticks for the first time today because I was really craving pho! I ordered the #7 Chicken Pho and it was very good. It was a large portion with lots of veggies. I had to add some extra hoison to add some more flavor to the broth and the chicken was pretty minimal and low quality but everything else in it was very yummy. My partner ordered the #2 pork vermicelli and he said it was also pretty good but the meat to noodle ratio was way off. I have included some photos below. He asked if he could have some more meat and they said they would have to charge an extra $4 for it which was okay but I think it should've come with more meat. I've never actually dined-in here, just took a risk one day and ordered pick-up online. I'm soooo glad we did! Located in a little strip mall across from the Mae Anne shops, I'm not sure I would have stopped by otherwise. What this place does, and does it incredibly well, is serve a variety of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese _fast food_, which you almost never see done well together. It's not terribly authentic, but it's delicious keeping that in mind. For example, my go-to is the pad thai, which doesn't quite get the salty/tangy sauce you'd have in true pad thai, but the abundance of noodles cooked perfectly and chopped peanuts makes this a great, slightly different dish. Same thing for the pho ga. The broth is more like won ton soup broth (and is probably used for that here as well), but lots of basil, lime, and fresh bean sprouts still makes this a delicious soup. Lunch menu combo is such a great value too. Hidden gem! Definitely on the rotation for comfort food. read more

The staff is always really friendly and kind and I think their prices are great for what you get. I finally took the time to dine here with my family today. Since they offered both Vietnamese & Chinese dishes, we ordered from both menus. I ordered the Pho Combo (#1). It normally comes with rare steak, meatballs, brisket, tendon, and tripe. I was really excited to eat this because I love trying new restaurants that have Pho on their menu and since this place had great reviews my expectations were kind of high. However, that wasn't the case. Before I even put all the fixings in my pho, I like to taste the broth because that's just how I judge any bowl of pho that I order. My first taste of the broth had this weird taste to it and I was not a big fan. There was a really sour after taste to it. Sadly, I only ate maybe half of my bowl as I just couldn't get over that taste. It also lacked any kind of beef flavor at all. The meats were just ok. Now, for the Chinese dishes. They were much better than the Pho. We ordered the Cantonese dinner for 2 people since there 4 of us (2 adults & 2 kids). It came with your choice of soup, some appetizers, BBQ pork fried rice, and your choice of entree which we got as Sweet & Sour shrimp and house chow mien. I actually enjoyed eating the Chinese dishes. The BBQ fried rice was really delicious and one of my favorite types of fried rice to eat. The chow mien was also really good. Both had really good flavor. I normally eat my sweet & sour dish with pork, but shrimp was a good alternative. I appreciate that it wasn't breaded because sometimes there's more breading than meat. The shrimps were also pretty big size. The hot & sour soup was ok. Needed a little more acidity to it. The egg drop soup was basic. The appetizers was mediocre. Service was good and they are attentive. They would come to the table and ask if we needed anything periodically. Refills on water. It was great. Worst food ever, don't waste your time. Pho broth is not good it's the worst I've had and I've tried a lot of pho. The broth makes the Pho and it takes a whole day or days to make. It had to many rice noodles, not sure why. The schezwan beef was gross, it taste like store bottle sauce and frozen premade breaded beef. Service was ok but the food needs to be made authentic and you need to make sure is made in house with real ingredients you can make your menu smaller to make it happen otherwise you're not going to survive as a business. read more

The noodles were not the super wide noodles and there was a lot of sticking (like it stuck together in clumps). Overall I'm happy with the flavor and this dish even with the noodle clumping. The pho broth was flavorful, not salty, and didn't require excessive sauce. The meats were tender, except the tripe (it was very chewy). First off, they do daily lunch specials every day (except Monday when they're closed) from 11am to 3pm. So, we were super excited to try 4 different lunch specials and everyone was happy with their choice. Lunch specials come with soup (either egg drop or hot sour soup, and both were delicious), an egg roll (which was cooked perfectly and was super tasty), and either plain white rice or bbq pork fried rice (again, both were tasty), along with your lunch entree of choice. The 3 flavors meant shrimp, chicken, and one other meet (maybe it was pork?). The chicken was softer than any chicken I've had before which was so tasty. We split two entrees: honey walnut shrimp and general chicken. Both were very lightly breaded. I always get worried when I order these items that they're going to come out like popcorn shrimp, but they weren't like that at all! The shrimp in all of our items were good quality. Each entree had enough to split. We honestly probably could've just ordered one entree since we bought the soup. Instead, we were able to bring home food for one more meal. Service was also great! I've got to say, I've always had a special place in my heart for Silver Chopsticks. With all the Covid stuff, I've been trying to support more local restaurants (and eating at home) rather than going to big chains. My boyfriend also enjoys Silver Chopsticks so convincing him to have it for dinner one night was not very hard. We usually love to go in for Pho, but with it being so hot right now, we decided against it. He ended up with orange peel beef and I got the sweet and sour chicken I've had a hankerin' for! I called in our order and that process was really easy. The wait time was fantastic too - only 15 minutes and that evening, we were the jerks who called 30 minutes before closing. The folks at Silver Chopsticks were willing to accommodate us and our food was great! I did make sure to leave a good tip and the person who was helping me saw and did thank me, stating that in these times, they really appreciate that. (Definitely made my evening knowing that I helped in a small way!) Silver Chopsticks isn't too far away from home, and when I got back, the food was still LAVA hot. I actually burned my tongue a bit on my first bite. Overall, the sweet and sour chicken was perfection. My boyfriend loved his meal and the white rice both came with was so pillowy and delightful. We also got an order of potstickers, which left us wishing we'd gone for another order of those haha. I'd say ask for an extra potsticker sauce if you order some though. Listen folks - if you aren't eating all your Chinese/Vietnamese meals here, you are missing the boat. This place makes THEE best food in town. Everything is made from scratch, homemade, deliciousness. The pork fired rice has large pieces of pork, like you've never seen before in your PFR. General's chicken is made with large pieces of chicken, with the skins on, deep fried , then marinated in a delicious sauce. It's low on the heat level, so you can enjoy the flavors without panting to cool your palette. Orange peel chicken is smaller pieces of chicken, dipped in batter then deep fried before being sautéed in a bit more spicy sauce with real orange peel to boost that flavor in the dish. The noodles (we have tried a few different portions) all have very generous meet/seafood portions. You know how there's like 2 tiny shrimp in most restaurant's shrimp dishes? Not here! I had more shrimp in one order of chow fun noodles at Silver Chopsticks than I've had in the past 4 places I've had it combined. Crab Rangoon comes with their own homemade sauce! Now let's talk about their pot stickers. Oh. My. Gawd. If you get nothing else when you visit this restaurant, you absolutely have to get an order of the potstickers. Your life will forever be changed. You will never get potstickers anywhere else, I promise you. These folks make their own dough and stuff the potstickers so full of meat, the order of six potstickers is a meal in and of itself. They are truly the best potstickers in town, hands-down.
