Restaurant has a good energy to it. Classy decorations, good music choice and the bathrooms were nice and clean. The service was great and friendly. My water was never more than half empty so appreciated the attention to detail as I drink a lot of water (noting that the restaurant was around half empty). Also appreciated that they asked any dietary requirements. I got the lunch special pad Thai mild add prawn and add vegetables. The soup was really fresh tasting. You can taste that the vegetables were fresh and cut up in restaurant came out hot and was a great pallet cleanser. It was a clear vegetable broth. The pad Thai had a lot of flavour. I added shrimp and they gave 6 which were really good. I also added vegetables which you can customize and I got carrots, broccoli and cabbage. The cabbage was large pieces of the root and were crunchy and not tasty so didn't eat it. The broccoli and carrots were a nice touch but for the price I would have liked more than 3 small pieces of broccoli and a few carrots. Spring roll was good. The pad Thai sauce was a good amount (especially adding vegetables) and tasted good. Overall really good and was impressed with the taste, quality and quantity. Only suggestion was a little more vegetables when adding (especially with the up-charge). I appreciate the flexibility of customizing the food.

Baan Thai, more like the bomb thai. Sooooooo Yummy When I went to Mcdonald's and was craving Pad Thai, it just didn't sit right with me. Than I went to Baan Thai, and they make Pad Thai way better than Mcdonald's ever will.

We came here by accident because Sabai Thai was closed. What luck for us! The food is wonderfully fresh and delicious here. The only thing that didn't make this a great night was the crummy music - like a bad radio station with blown speakers.

Service was quick & friendly. Food was good with most menu options modifiable for gluten-free diets. We will certainly be back!

Way over priced, oily and no flavor also don't forget to order sauce for your spring rolls as it's a extra charge.

I haven't been to the restaurant in person but I got delivery through Dine In Victoria…read more I ordered Chicken Salad Rolls which were very fresh and crunchy. I also ordered Spicy Chicken with cashews which was excellent. Ginger Beef which was good but not amazing, and the House Fried Rice with BBQ pork and prawns, which was also excellent. (I realize this makes it sound like you should avoid the ginger beef, and that's not the case. It was fine, just not as great as I found everything else.) The main thing that really made the food good was not only that it tasted good, but it was very well made. ALL the vegetables in every dish were cooked properly and not just floppy bland mush that you often get in this kind of food. Even in the Ginger Beef, while it wasn't the best I ever had, it was all cooked perfectly including the vegetables. This was my first time ordering from Vietnam Garden and I really hope it wasn't a fluke and they are consistently this good. (Note on the packaging for delivery. It is adequate, but very thin. I actually like this because it's less packaging, and it's actual paper, not styrofoam, but it does mean you have to be careful when handling it to serve.)

I do not understand how this restaurant has 4 stars since this was by far the worst Vietnamese…read morecuisine that I have ever eaten. So bad, in fact, that I did not even finish my meal. We ordered beef brisket pho and a rice vermicelli with spring rolls and grilled pork through Skip the Dishes. The beef brisket pho broth did not taste herbal, aromatic, or flavourful as expected. Instead, it tasted like any beef broth with a slight twinge of lime. The beef brisket was so tough that it was crumbling in my mouth. The noodles were starchy, not the slick rice noodles that make pho so enjoyable. The rice vermicelli was dry and starchy and the grilled pork was completely tasteless, which is strange since I would expect it to have a slight smokey flavour from the grill, at the very least. The only redeeming quality about this dish was the grilled Vietnamese ham but it wasn't enough to salvage it. For me, eating this meal was the equivalent of shoving plain white stale rice in your mouth. You do it for sustenance, but not for pleasure.

My expectations were low to begin with. I'm not one to brag, but I am from Los Angeles and I think…read morewe have some pretty decent pho down here. Whether you get your pho on in the Asian capital of So Cali = the 626, OC Little Saigon 714, or even in the 323/213 Koreantown/Chinatown, I'm proud to say we have some pretty legit pho restaurants available here. My journey took me to Victoria for a wedding for the weekend. The family was craving some Asian food and someone found this place merely for its close proximity from our hotel. Let's just say, it was a blessing. We had a group of about 17, so we phoned in for reservations. They were able to accommodate three separate tables that were all next to one another. This didn't bother us one bit, it's not like we needed a typical round table too all fit on. It was a Friday evening and the place was pretty filled up. With us there, the place looked happening. So if you have a big party, you may want to phone ahead so they can prepare for your arrival. The pho... I ordered #25 on their menu: rare steak, brisket, and meatballs; XL size. The portion was truly XL. At first, I thought they skimped out on the meat but little did I know that it was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The stock soup base was good (slightly on the saltier side). Doesn't matter because I always add my endless condiments regardless: sriracha sauce, hoisin sauce, an entire lime tree, and pepper. We did have to ask them for more bean sprouts/basil/lime set up. Down here, every bowl gets their own plate of this. At Green Leaf Bistro, you get one set up for the entire table. We asked and we received, no fuss. I was pretty happy the pho tasted legitimate because trust me when I tell you that I've had some pretty horrible pho in my life. It's really not that hard to screw up either. I got to sample the lemongrass chicken. Real talk, if I wasn't in the mood for some pho then I would definitely would have ordered this dish. Whatever it is that they do to that dark meat chicken, it's fan-f-ing-tastic. Whether you get it on rice or vermicelli noodles, it's darn good stuff right there especially with some nuoc mam dipping sauce. We had the #1 appetizer spring rolls to share for our table. I believe they were vegetarian. It wasn't something that was too impressive but the peanut butter dipping sauce was interesting. I just can't come to the conclusion if I enjoyed it much or not. Overall, the meal was what we needed after being out and about all day, travelling from Vancity earlier that morning. The service was friendly and they gladly brought us the many items we requested from them. The price is what you expect for being in Victoria which is slightly higher but at least the food was great. I can see myself coming back here if I'm ever in this part of the woods again.
