Soup was out immediately when we sat down and a nice starter. food came out in less than 10 minutes, very VERY quick and food was piping hot. We both ordered 'medium' spice to be safe and both had to add spice on our own, but other than that food was delicious! Reasonably priced and super fast for a quick lunch stop. I've been here three times now and I feel confident in the three star rating. We recently moved to Edmonds from Bothell and decided to give this place a try. While the Phad Thai as pretty delicious (and a huge portion... I also love the lime that they add,) the crab wontons are horribly overpriced. You get a very small portion and they were about 25% smaller than the crab wontons from my favorite place. The staff is friendly and the restaurant itself is very nice (we usually do takeout.) All in all, it's a good place to try, but a little pricier than other Thai options in the area. read more

The service was terrible and the food mediocre at best. I have to assume this experience was out of the ordinary based on all of the positive reviews, but this is my review nonetheless. After we were seated we waited a long time for the waitress to take our order, at least 15 minutes. After we finally ordered it took about 20 minutes for them to bring out my mom's order - but it was just hers (and it was lukewarm). They did not bring my dad's order out for another 20 minutes so my mom had finished hers before ours even came. I finally ate some of my dad's dish. They brought mine out about 10 minutes after his. The fried rice was burnt with little black charred pieces mixed in and no pineapple which it was supposed to have. The noodles were slimy and lukewarm with zero spice level, even though we had requested level three. And the flavor of the chicken dish tasted exactly like the noodle dish. They also delivered someone else's dish to our table while we waited for our food and we had to flag them down to tell them it wasn't ours. I have no idea what was going on this night. It was a Friday night so it was busy but nothing out of the ordinary. Truly some of (if not THE) worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. What I Got: Phad See Ew; Thai Cottage Noodles I only ever ordered to go here, but my brief interactions with the staff are always good. Orders done right and on time. And it's yummy! We ate here today for the first time and thought the food was excellent. We were seated pretty quickly, service was wonderful and the food came out in a timely manner. I had the avocado green curry and it was excellent, very tasty, smooth and creamy and the pork was tender and cooked perfectly. My partner had the green curry friend rice and it was also delicious. I had a Thai iced tea and dessert with homemade coconut ice cream and little rolled banana fritters. Everything was excellent and very fair prices. Cant wait to return. read more

I have tried many Thai restaurants, and this one is by far my favorite. I moved to Phoenix for college and unfortunately have yet to find a good Thai place. Every place I go to I compare to Thai cottage, and they never live up. When I come home for breaks, Thai cottage is one of my first stops. Busy place! We walked in about upmarket and got the last table before a huge party on 10 showed up. We showed up hungry so we ordered plenty of food and left with leftovers for a full second meal at home. Pots tickers were crispy and not greasy. We then ordered crispy garlic chicken which was yum yum my favorite. We ordered Thai basil fried rice and also Pudding Ewing See. All chocked with fresh large cut veggies which were delicious. I loved the crisp basil leaves and it all went down with Thai beer. Pricy but worth it for the freshness ,not soggy or gooey. so my sister and I eat here almost religiously when I come over every weekend! (I take care of my nephew) love the food! so I ate in once and don't think I will do that again...I mean...the waiters were nice but they weren't really around when we needed one and they charge for EVERYTHING! definitely pricey when you eat in...our friend ordered curry and they charged extra for rice! and it wasn't even enough rice! that to me was a little ridiculous. since we have rice at home and we enjoy being comfortable in her apartment, and since she lives walking distance from the restaurant we order out! My favorite dish is the pad see ew! MMMMMMmmmm!! i've had better pad thai elswhere..my sister loves the beef salad and we discovered how yummy pad see ew could be with a spicy peanut sauce as well! if you order out you won't be dissapointed! =D read more

We tried this place after a long day of traveling t/f Forks, and some of the other establishments were quite busy. Two of our four entrees were fantastic and two were less than desirable. Be aware of item that come with peanut sauce as they are typically covered in sauce similar to gravy is to mashed potatoes. The service was general prompt, but really lacked warmth and focus on the customer - congeniality lessons would be helpful. Pretty good Thai food. Not the very best I have ever had but works for lunch. Some of the folks I work with are always going there for lunch and I have as well and lunch is a slam dunk. Dinner is good just not out of this world great. The 5 -stars (we like it hot) was more like 3-stars. You need to tell them, "I like it HOT!" if you like it that way. One note- Don't ever say 5-stars when dining on Thai food in Hawaii because it is more like 27 stars. I am STILL recovering from that one. Whoa! I have been to Thai Cottage many.....many times. The service is always very friendly and attentive. They always make us feel right at home. The food is also impeccable. Our usual start is Tom Kah Soup. I have tried Tom Kah so many Thai restaurants, and this is the best ever... We love their Red Curry, Phad Thai and their specialty dishes.....YUMMMMM...Their Red curry is not too spicy, but well balanced with the curry flavor and the sweetness from coconut milk.. The portion is pretty good and fair for the price. Oh....Don't leave without having some Coconut Ice Cream....I mean ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. Nothing beats their Home made Coconut Ice cream..... Overall, I would say this restaurant is very consistent, customer service oriented, excellent food, menu and of course, their COCONUT ICE CREAM. read more

I wondered how they can lay it down without feeling embarrassed or guilty. You look down and internally wonder "That's it? For 14 bucks?" Perhaps this was why the host (owner) seemed over-accommodating to the point of obsequiousness. My partner got Golden Cashew/chicken I believe, more fairly priced, and we had two small and overpriced appetizers. Total came to....50.00. Other entrees on the menu appeared overpriced relative to most other Thai venues. Oh and of course they ran the rice scam, as it was pointed out that rice wasn't included and did we wish to order some. We declined the carbs. But I guess their profit was not sufficient to include some cheap-as-dirt rice! The food tasted fine, but I left feeling like an exploited tourist (I'm not). We went her on the spur of the moment on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Thai Cottage is right next to the fabulous downtown Edmonds street market so it was very convenient. We were wanting the lunch special which was advertised outside on the menu board. We went in and they said they don't do lunch specials on the weekend. That was a bit irritating but oh well we were hungry! The egg rolls were dinky, but yummy. Ask for more sauce, there wasn't enough. The green curry was good but the chicken tasted a bit funny. The pad thai was ok, I have had much better. Lanna Thai or Nakorn Thai both in Everett are miles better. I wouldn't go out out of my way to go back. They have a different twist on the yellow curry by using pumpkin instead of potato. It's tasty, but not phenomenal. Overpriced for food that isn't over the top. I can't really justify spending that much unless I am craving yellow curry with pumpkin because I haven't found that anywhere else. read more

We usually always go to thai bistro in shoreline which is delicious, but once about a year ago I made my bf and roomates try this place cause it's close by. I thought it was ok but my roomates didn't like it. Tonight I decided to try again and got drunken noodle 3 star to go. Panang Chicken is wonderful, and better than many other thai places I've been. Spring rolls are our favorite, along with the sticky rice and mango dessert. I have tried numerous Thai restaurants in the Seattle area and beyond and Thai Cottage is the very best that there is. How anyone could give it less than 5 stars is beyond me. They use fresh vegetables--none of the frozen stuff that is so common in many lesser restaurants, which really makes a difference in overall taste. I am a vegetarian and many Thai restaurants just add more soy sauce to the recipes when I ask for the fish sauce to be held, which makes the dishes have a saltier taste that just is not right. Thai Cottage has mastered the art of vegetarian sauces--the flavor is still delicious! They even make sure that each ingredient that they use contains no animal products before serving me, something that most restaurants (no matter the type) do not do. I disagree with the one reviewer who said that the Phad Thai is ketchupy--that is not true and I think that they are confusing Thai Cottage with the other Thai restaurant in downtown Edmonds. The Phad Thai is superb--the tamarind sauce is just the right sweetness without tipping over the edge. As far as spicy goes, my husband routinely orders 20 stars (he does not mind a few tears at dinner). If it is still not spicy enough, you can add spicy sauces to the dish. The desserts are spectacular. I definitely recommend the coconut ice cream. The owner makes it in the restaurant in small batches. I am not a big coconut fan and I absolutely love this ice cream! The sticky rice is beyond imagination--the best I have ever had. The wait staff is terrific and very accommodating. Even when it is busy, you get terrific service. Not once have I had bad service in the 6 years that I have been going there, and that is saying a lot! I have had large dinner parties on numerous occasions there and the service has always been beyond my expectations. They have the best Jasmine tea you could ask for--I definitely recommend it. My husband and I eat for about $23 before the tip (entrees and water usually). Not bad for such good food. If I could, I would give Thai Cottage 20 stars! It is definitely worth visiting. read more

What a find! We frequently take the ferry over from Kingston for this utterly fabulous Thai food. Quite a nice variety on the menu, and we usually try at least one new thing, while also sticking to our faves, the chicken satay and avocado curry. They even have brown rice. The wine and beer selection is a bit limited, but we happily supplement by going to the wonderful bar right next door - Daphne's - either before or after dinner (well, ok. Sometimes both). The restaurant itself is casual and comfortable, the service very quick and friendly, making this one of our favorite Edmonds haunts. read more
