    Mango Salad and Chicken Satay
    Danny W.

I was hoping for a bit more from this local restaurant. The staff was friendly but the service was a bit slow, even though the restaurant was quite empty. The interiors is very unique and felt homey. The food was quite disappointing and left a lot for the imagination. The chicken satay had lacked salt, the red curry (house special) was bland and had more pineapple and lychee than meat, and the drunken noodles was too saucy for a fried noodle dish. The green mango salad was the best of the night, but it's hard not to like a green mango salad.

I got the $39 prix fixe meal which came with appetizer platter (mango salad, veggie dumpling, cauliflower stir fry in a chip), green chicken curry, and mango sticky rice for dessert. Food was definitely delicious. Good to know: gratuity is already included in the receipt and there is a 15% discount for cash or E transfer (which is very useful in case you don't have cash). Staff were friendly and attentive. Owner was a very sweet man, came up to us and showed us pictures of his 2 year old daughter and gave my friend's toddler son a pandan coconut cupcake on the house. We had a great experience!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Mengrai Thai. The space was nicely decorated and spacious. Our waiter, Sukhbir, was kind and attentive. He was very mindful of our desired spice levels and recommended some dishes accordingly. We really enjoyed the salad rolls appetizer. The veggies were fresh and the sauce was tasty. I loved my cashew stir fry with chicken and my mom really enjoyed the fried rice. The mango sticky rice was light and sweet. I look forward to returning again!

Really good food. Went here as part of Winterlicious so got the set menu which included 1 appetizer, 1 salad and 1 entree and 1 dessert. The food was excellent and the owner was really nice! The server was amazing too. She recommended we try certain stuff since it was our first time here. The place was well lit with a yellow hue to the whole ambiance. Would 100% come here again hopefully when it's not too busy

This spot just because a favourite of mine for Thai food. They have a wonderful prix fix menu if you can't decide what to try but I highly recommend the pumpkin soup. The crunch on the crispy beef is delicious and addictive. They do a great lychee martini (at a great price might I add). The service was top notch and had a very friendly and family feel. We were surprised with a free dessert at the end. Definitely will be coming back!

Wanted to try a new Thai place and found these guys. Great food, portions felt a little small compared to some of the other common Thai restaurants but tasted incredible. Got medium spice on the drunken noodles and it was as perfect. The curry was served in a pineapple which was really cool. It had lychee and mango in it - a little too sweet for my liking. Appetizer platter was tasty, most of the items were deep fried. Service was a little slow but the staff are really kind, so didn't mind it too much. Will be back here

This Thai restaurant has been on my list to check out for a long time. Unfortunately I do not visit the East End, therefore was never in the area. Luckily I was able to check this place out this past weekend! We started with the taro rolls and the crispy morning glory with golden pumpkin soup. I was sad to see that there was only one crispy morning glory on the dish. Thankfully the golden pumpkin soup was absolutely delicious and made up for the lack of fritter quantity. Since it was the first time, we ordered the chefs pad Thai to try. On the waiters recommendation we also ordered the braised curry lamb with peach. We were blown away by the curry lamb, such depth of flavor, tender meat, sweetness from the peach and a gentle growing heat with each bite. Unfortunately, the pad Thai was bland in comparison. We fix the issue by adding the curry to the pad Thai and enjoying it together. Would go back for the curry lamb alone!

Must visit ! I was not expecting such a serene ambience. It's like you've been transported out of the city. So cozy with dinner over candle light. One downside is the bathroom which needs upgrades ASAP. We over estimated the amount we should order for two and ended up with enough food to feed an army. Portions are VERY generous! Keep that in mind. My highlights were the lemongrass soup and sasi curry. 10/10. Such complex flavours that hit you in different ways each time you take another taste. The soup was perfect for the bitterly cold weather. The service was exceptional and the owner came by to greet us and share fun stories ( and photos!) of his very famous guests. 10/10. The menu is a bit overwhelming as it contains numerous dishes you are not used to seeing at a Thai restaurant. They are clearly focused on expanding our Thai palate and moving us beyond our comfort zones. For example there's a grilled fish dish cooked with tamarind that I want to try next time. I'm already planning to return and especially to try the dessert menu. Lemongrass creme brûlée any one!?? I can't wait ! Fantastic spot just east of the core and absolutely perfect and intimate for a date night.

Randomly stumbled upon this place after seeing it had good reviews, I went in on a Wednesday night and were seated immediately. We started with the Royal Thai Lobster Soup, served in a coconut. The soup was so delicious. We also ordered the Sasi's pad Thai which was delectable, melted in my mouth. Then we got the red chicken curry that came in a pineapple. Also ordered the lychee martini which was amazing. Overall, highly recommend this place, The presentation of their food was like no other restaurant. The service was delightful, and owner Allen was very nice.

There was chili oil on the table, and I definitely got a little carried away. It was seriously spicy, but somehow I couldn't stop eating. My mouth was on fire, but every bite made me want another. Originally, our table was only reserved until 8:00 p.m.--the exact time I finally arrived. Thankfully, with the help of our incredible server, Savanna N., everything worked out. Her professionalism, warmth, and willingness to help truly made the evening possible. More than anything, I hoped the wait would be worthwhile for my friends, who were visiting for the first time. I'm happy to say they absolutely loved it--especially the outstanding hospitality and customer service. A huge thank you to Savanna and the entire team for making us feel so welcome. The menu features a number of classic favorites, all of which are some of the best I've tasted of the cuisine. It tasted great the first time I visited in 2023 and even better when I returned in 2026! Pad See Ew - Excellent execution of the classic; love the tenderness of the chicken, and the tenderness of the leaves while retaining its texture. The authentic sweetness and garlic peppery notes come through well in the noodles as well. Mango Sticky Rice - Showshopping dessert that elevates the classic with added fun with the white chocolate shell; the mango is juicily well selected, while the sticky rice is softly warm and comforting. The coconut and rice flakes add another layer of dimensionality as well. It tastes even better than the version I had in 2023. Pad Thai Lunch - Had this back in 2023 which came with a soup, a curry, a noodle, and an appetizer which was spectacular value. The hot and sour soup was well balanced with acidity and spice; the green curry chicken could properly propagate the herbaceousness of the curry through the spice without being too spicy; the egg roll was properly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. And of course, the pad thai has those authentically bold notes of sweet, sour, salty that I am looking for. Pad Woonsen Cha-Om (Minced Pork & glass noodle, egg, garlic and acacia leaves) - my first time trying this dish! It was really good! It kind of filled the role of "fried rice" to me, mellowing out all of the stronger flavours of the other dishes. Still quite flavourful on its own too. Felt like a Thai-spin on the Korean dish, Japchae. Kai Yang (grilled chicken) - oh my gosh the sauce this chicken comes with is TO DIE FOR. I want to buy it or learn how to make it.
