Thai Fire is a new place to try on Ventura 's Main Street in midtown. And it's worth a visit! Fresh, clean and welcoming, there are only 8 or 9 tables inside and another few outside. It seems to be family run, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The menu was large and covered almost any type of Thai food. I had the lunch special ($14.99, multiple choices). It was excellent! They have a selection of 3 different fresh made chili selections. Our waitress recommended one that had 2 different fresh chili types sliced into a sweet vinegar that was incredible. My spicy basil with chicken was accompanied with a green salad, white rice and orange wedges, all arranged nicely on a lacquered tray, very nice! I'll be back! read more

Honestly, some of the best, made to order Thai food in Ventura. This restaurant is fairly new and has maintained a very clean, friendly ambiance. Although it might take a little while at times, I am always happy with the fact that every dish I order is made fresh to my liking! My friend and I came here on a busy Saturday evening and we saw nearly every table full, so we thought "this place must be great!" We did not realise that we were very wrong. It seems like there's only one or two people who act as servers, which makes for a very delayed service. We were greeted when we entered and given the last open table; but no one came to offer water or drinks for 15 mins. Even when we were finally offered drinks, we were discouraged from ordering a smoothie because "it takes 15 mins." There was a nice man who I assumed was the owner who went around checking on tables and asking how everyone's food was, but he was never once helping serve food or deliver drinks. Our food was just okay. I ordered brocolli, spinach, and chicken in peanut sauce, which was very heavy on the sauce; it felt like soup. Also, even though it says "steamed spinach," it's clearly just raw. The peanut sauce was very creamy by had little flavor. My friend had ordered some type of noodle dish with tofu that was very flavorful but stopped eating midway after finding a hair in her dish. We didn't bring it up to our server because she was clearly the only one serving every table, and we felt bad giving her an extra burden to deal with. Overall, it was a less than positive experience. The birra quesadilla we had at a food truck at midnight was unfortunately much more satisfying. read more

The food is great and delicious! However the online pickup ordering is kind of chaotic. I've ordered online for pickup three times. It takes almost an hour to wait for pickup. In addition even though the email notification says your order is ready for pickup you will probably have to wait an additional 15 minutes. I've never eaten inside the restaurant because it's always very crowded. It's a very popular restaurant probably because the food is very good. read more

First off, I feel ambivalent about this review. The food was good. However: My wife and I ordered 2 dishes. The red curry took over twenty minutes to come out and the spicy Thai basil took an additional 15 or more minutes to come. The couple next to us expressed concern and felt bad eating in front of us as all of their food arrived way before any of ours even though we were there before them. Finally, a person who had been there longer than us got up and complained that they had ordered before all of us and still hadn't been served. It really felt like they had been intentionally neglected. I felt bad continuing to eat my meal after seeing and hearing this. It stuck with me and is why I am writing this review. We decided to have dinner in Ventura and found this Thai gem! We ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, Crab fried Rice and a steamed fish that wasn't on the menu. We also had a Thai iced tea. All the dishes were very flavorful and we loved the citrusy flavor of the steamed fish. If you like citrus and spicy flavor, give this a try. Just show the picture and the staff will know right away. The crab fried rice was very good and had a good amount of crab. We like adding a small amount of spicy fish sauce for that extra umami. The Pad Kee Mao was very tasty as well, and had perfectly cooked veggies! We love to add a little spicy vinegar for that extra taste. We also washed everything down with some delicious Thai iced tea! It's a smaller restaurant with about 10 tables or so. We met the owner and the chef, very nice people! We will definitely come back to try more dishes. Until then, Happy Nom Nom! read more

What a treat what a feast i came in with a party of 3, the fried pork was some great meat, tom yum soup was made with some heat! but don't you worry, no other restaurant can compete!! I am so happy I finally was able to eat here. The atmosphere is calm, with the dining area being fresh and clean. The food was delicious. We ordered Tom Kha noodle soup with fried tofu, pad Thai with pork and yellow curry with chicken. For us medium hot was ok, but we do like our food a little on the spicy side. My favorite "Thai Fried Rice" in Ventura. Lots of seasoning and everything tastes freshly made. The Spicy fried rice is also good. They will make it really hot if that's your thing.
