My friend and I had a wonderful experience at Thai Garden. I had a hard time deciding what to order because so many of the menu items sounded delicious! I went with the Thai Melon Curry and was not disappointed. It was so flavorful and delicious, and it was neat that they served it on a dish with a tealight underneath to keep it warm. My friend also ordered the Pad Thai and she loved it. I even tried a bite of her dish and I was surprised at the delicious flavor of the Pad Thai, better than the last time I had the dish from a different restaurant. We also ordered dessert - I had the custard and she had the banana a la mode -- wonderful. Oh, and very reasonably priced! My Thai iced tea was only 2.50 (also delicious). If I lived closer to Keene I would definitely come here again. The staff was wonderful as well, and the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. read more

Great Thai food in the Keene area! Service is great, our water was NEVER empty, and the food was very tasty. I enjoyed the Thai iced tea, Tom Young Koong soup, and Drunken noodle with beef instead of chicken, and my husband enjoyed his Pad Thai. My Drunken Noodle was supposed to be very spicy, and I felt it lacked in that area,,,but it was still tasty. My husband's Pad Thai had a great taste even though it all looked like it was one color...interesting I guess...but if you're looking for a variety of colors in your food then maybe try a different dish? Place was filled with people, and if you're in the mood for Thai, then I would recommend stopping downtown and checking it out. read more

Every time we come to these parts we come here. Last night we went to a place in Vermont voted "Best Thai in NE" by yankee magazine. Well Yankee magazine, YOU NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER! The Thai House in Vermont has nothing on this place. Thai garden should be voted best in NE. Now for the food lol. They start you off with a complimentary little broth and noodle soup. It's not only a palate cleanser, it's just plain delicious! I would order it just by itself if I knew what it was. We got the fresh rolls and money bags both were fresh and amazing! Very disappointed. PadThai had mostly noodles, very little chicken, no veggies to speak of. Seaweed salad is no longer a nice bowl of seaweed salad but a smattering of seaweed on top of iceberg, not ripe tomato and cukes. Not impressive at all I will not be back. read more

Being from out of town this place was highly recommend. I love Thai food and was excited to give it a go. I thought this place was cute and cozy. The owner ended up serving me and he highly recommend the Bangkok duck which was about $17. Unfortunately, it was like having a glorified sesame chicken that did not come with rice, rice is extra. I wasn't sure how one could eat such rich fried dish covered with syrupy sweet thick sauce without rice. Didn't make since. I wouldn't order it again. Thats like ordering a hamburger and paying extra to have buns with it. Go figure. read more

My octogenarian aunt recommended this place. When we walked in, she was hugged by the waitress. It's decent Thai food in Keene, New Hampshire. I liked the soup palate cleanser. The "fresh rolls" were as good as in the big city. The crab rangoon were fine. The pad see ew was plentiful with fresh veggies. My mango chicken curry was fresh with real mango chunks. The Thai iced coffees were sweet. The Thai donuts were fried dough served with sweetened condensed milk dip sprinkled with peanuts. The ginger ice cream was home made. The total bill was $39. I have such mixed feelings about Thai Garden. When I'm in Keene with no other options (and its lunch time): its super! When I'm in a real city with Thai/Asian cuisine options, its... okay. When I dropped in here last weekend (for the first time in a year), I noticed they had a new flashy menu with stock photos of Thai dishes (definitely not taken for or created by Thai Garden). And one thing I always keep in mind when dropping into Asian restaurants (or most restaurants, really): if it has to have pictures, run the other way. I ordered for my friends and I these fried onion/curry/potato triangle things. They were pretty good but looked like they had been dumped out of a freezer bag and not created fresh (and you get seven of them for $6! super steep). Annnd for my entree I got their Green Curry with Tofu- the presentation was lovely (a cute tealight underneath to keep the food super hot) but the price was a bit steep ($13). So, yeah, pretty much summed up: if you have $20 to blow per person, this is the place for you. Otherwise, head elsewhere. read more

We had New Years day lunch at Thai Garden and it was an excellent dining experience. The service, the quality of the ingredients, and the cooking were all top notch and on par with the best Thai restaurants. We arrived and were immediately greeted, seated, and served ice water. The restaurant interior is simple, pleasant, full of light and very clean. The tables and dining area are also very clean. To our surprise, we were immediately served a complimentary cup of soup, a basic broth with cabbage, cilantro, scallion, and a single dumpling, which was simple, but delicious and a great way to start a meal on a cold day. After waiting for our final lunch guest to arrive, we placed our order. We started out with spring rolls for an appetizer. For an entrees, I ordered the Basil & Chili with Chicken (Thai Basil Chicken), and the others ordered Chicken Himmapan, and Vegetable Tempura and Chicken Tempura. Our spring rolls arrived promptly and were crispy and tasty. Our lunch orders arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and were hot and fresh. My Basil & Chili Chicken was excellent. The chicken and vegetables were top quality; the Thai basil was fresh; the jasmine rice cooked to perfection, and the chili sauce was light, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Our server was warm and attentive throughout our lunch and greeted us with a smile every time she visited our table. The prices are amazingly reasonable given the quality of the ingredients and the food. It was a perfect lunch all around, from the service to the food. Our first dining experience at Thai Garden was excellent and far exceeded our expectations. Thai Garden excelled in every area, cleanliness, service, quality of ingredients, and delicious, authentic Thai cuisine cooked to perfection. A typical Northeastern college town Thai place. Comfortable atmosphere, clean, affordable, with good service. Food was not spectacular but not terrible either, and entirely unsurprising, flavor-wise. You might expect a Thai restaurant in a Northeastern college town to be a safe bet for vegetarian dining, but you'd be wrong. The menu has a section called "Vegetarian Corner," but it contains items that are NOT vegetarian by default; i.e., items billed as "vegetarian" may contain fish sauce. Apparently, this restaurant -- in defiance of the general consensus in the U.S. as to what "vegetarian" means -- considers fish or oyster sauce vegetarian? I ordered the Tofu Tamarind and asked if there was fish or oyster sauce, and it turns out there was. Same thing with one of the curries. Only some of the dishes can be made vegetarian, others use pre-mixed sauce bases. So successfully ordering a vegetarian meal is not impossible, but more of a hassle than you might expect. Thai iced coffee and Thai iced tea were both delicious. read more

We'd stopped in for drinks and appetizers, but were asked by four different wait staff if you'd like to order. It got really awkward really quick. They could definitely improve their communication. We went for dinner the other night and parked right outside the restaurant. As we were entering, another couple was leaving and we asked them if the food was good. They said it was fantastic, and then the husband went back in and called the owner over and told him we were good friends of his and to take care of us. Well, they definitely took care of us. From the time we sat down until our food arrived, there was always one of the family members running the restaurant refilling our water, bringing our appetizer, chatting with us, etc.. The food was great. My wife considers herself a "super taster" and she loved everything. I'm not a super taster, but I liked my dish the Basil and Garlic Chicken. The Pad Thai was a little bland to me, but I don't really like it anywhere my wife orders it. Overall the service was spectacular and the food was great. We'll be back here again. read more

I wasn't a huge fan of the tofu was cooked in my drunken noodles it sort of tasted like the consistency of a condom, not that i know only what i would imagine. The noodles were good, maybe drunken noodles is better suited for Chicken? I am not really even sure. Massam Curry is always really good, and the free soup is a very nice touch. This place used to be the toast of the Best of NH but they have back slid a little. I think the one waitter/owner/host is a little rude but not overly. Thai ice tea is good but where is it not. The sticky rice is a family favorite. read more
