Had a delicious lunch at Thai Garden. They are reasonable priced, and big on flavor and portions. I enjoyed their spicy basil fried rice, which had a generous portion of tofu. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The owners were very friendly and remembered my dad, who has visited a few times previously. They have a nice bench area to wait for your take out food or a small table and chairs if you prefer to eat there. Parking was easy too as they had spots right in the food cart pod. Horribly terrible...My "Pineapple Fried Rice" was shocking. (see picture) It was basically white rice stir fried in oil with cubed Chinese sausage, shrimp and frozen peas and carrots. Absolutely NO pineapple, no garlic, no onions, no seasoning of any type (not even salt, fish sauce, or soy sauce). I have never in my entire life encountered such awful "fried rice". I came here recently because I wanted to not have to cook over the weekend (lol). I'd been here before, but wanted to try some new things. After a couple minutes of looking at the menu, I made a decision, and when I turned around there were suddenly 5 people in line! Dang it! I waited for a few minutes and started laughing because I wanted to order the Garlic Chicken dish, and 3 of the 5 people in front of me ordered it. That'll make it easier for the cook! I placed my order and waited. It only took about 5-10 minutes! Crazy fast! The gentleman running the register was very friendly, gave me some extra sauces and sent me on my way. The food was excellent! I lived off of the spread I bought for the next few days, and it was a treat every time. I'm definitely planning on coming back again... there's still so much good food to try! This cart has won me over. I'm very glad the food carts have been doing well on this side of the hood. This mom and pop food cart cook the food fresh and the affordability is amazing. Even on a rainy day, I can sit in the covered patio and enjoy big ass order of basil fried rice in peace. They put the right amount of hot peppers in my dish to give me that sweat but still taste the rest of the food. I think I managed to eat 75% before throwing in the towel. For $6, my happy belly thanked me for the delicious meal. I have been here on a Sunday during the day so there is some activity at this cart pod. I got to sample some of their "ninja wings" that they also own across the cart pod. I will definitely make it there someday. The service is friendly and sociable. I felt very welcomed when I arrived. ROAD TRIP SUMMER 2016 According to my $ search on Yelp, there were food trucks 7 minutes away from our hotel. Ten of us walked there, and even though only 4 or 5 trucks were open, we all found something good to eat! The Thai place was the cutest so I ordered dinner there. Besides, I was craving something a little healthy since I've been eating a lot of junk food during the 10-hour drive. For $12, I was happy with my meal. The egg rolls were bland and greasy, but the sweet sauce made it better. The Mussaman Curry was more than enough for two adults and one toddler, but we wish there were more chicken....at least it came with white rice. I enjoyed the thai ice tea very much so my niece ordered one too. Woo hoo! I'm ready for the next adventure! read more

I'm attending a CNA class down the road, my instructor recommended so I thought I'd give it a chance. Other classmates wanted to try as well. I put in an order online for about 6 or 7 people and called just to make sure it was ok. They were super appreciative and tackled the order with ease and were unbelievably fast. Unfortunately, they forgot to make one of the entrees and I called to let them know. They were so apologetic and started on the order before I even hung up. I've been going here for a few years so I guess that means it's my "go-to" place for Thai food. I love how coconutty their curry dishes are. When I try something on their specials menu, like the avocado yellow curry I'm eating now, I'm always pleasantly surprised. Everything on their menu is a winner. Why is this place so highly rated? Just had the thai iced tea and it was delicious. However the Pad Thai was extremely hot, the noodles stuck to each other. The portion of chicken breast is minuscule. The green onion was traumatized and yellow. Yes, if you'd like a large serving of food for $6.00, then this is the place. We frequent Thai Garden in the evenings at least a couple times a month. The portions are generous, as past reviews have mentioned, but entrees have gone up from $5 to $7 now. Still worth the price increase though. We usually order tom kha soup and pad kee mao; it's fresh, hot, and spicy every single time. The large container of tom kha comes with a full box of white rice which makes the soup taste thicker and helps calm the spice level down if need be. We've also tried their green curry and salad rolls which you should try as well. Everything we've eaten from Thai Garden has been great. Service is fast. They're not much for chit chat but that's fine because their focus is on cooking. There's a covered patio attached to the cart or you can settle in the picnic area amongst the other patrons. Parking is limited in the lot. Thai Garden's prices may have gone up but the quality and quantity are what brings us back. read more

It was Thursday night. I had just gotten home from a long day of work and after some fun bus troubles on the way home, I was ready to eat. A lot. Fortunately, I live about two blocks away from the Ala Cart food pod. Unfortunately, I always tend to forget that it's there and skip going there and, instead, going somewhere else that I usually regret. However! I finally remembered about Ala Cart and about Thai Garden specifically. I remembered it had received a couple of very nice reviews... and I was hungry... and I love me some pad thai. So I stopped by. And, yep, as Don mentioned, for a fiver I got a HUGE to-go order of pad thai. It was actually a three-mealer: for dinner on Thursday and lunch leftovers for both my wife and I on Friday. So, three "meals" for $5? Can't pass that up no matter how bad the food is. Luckily, the pad thai was friggen' delicious here. As Mary mentioned, yes, it does lack a little in the green onion department... but it was just as spicy as I like it and oh so tasty. In cred i ble This humble cart deserves the accolades. First, while perhaps the gourmet snobs among us will snicker, but price matters. With most dishes at $5, and the most expensive coming in at $6.50 or $7, you can afford to come here regularly. And they don't skimp on portion. While some have commented that they are light on the chicken, I didn't notice this -- I noticed a large overall portion, plenty of vegetables, and just the right amount of chicken. But price alone doesn't deserve 5 stars. That is because of the consistent quality. We had Massuman curry, Tom Yum soup, and Pineapple Fried Rice (not sure what this is called) with Cashews. All three were excellent. The Tom Yum had significantly more variety of vegetables than other thai restaurants I've tried. The soup had good flavor, a nice little bit of kick (I ordered 'medium'), and there was more soup than I could eat for dinner by myself. The Massuman curry was very, very good. It had good, consistent texture, color, and flavor. The vegetables were flavorful. And the pineapple fried rice (not sure what called) was a surprise favorite. I ordered it because someone else on yelp commented about it. I would reccomend it. It was salty and sweet, with cashew nuts, almost something you might find at a chinese restaurant. But it had definite thai flavors, and the flavors really meshed well. It was served with a lime to squeeze over the top. Vegetables included onions, tomato, broccoli, carrots, peas, and maybe some others. The first bite was good, and I planned to put most of it in the fridge for a later meal. But my taste buds kept calling to me and I ended up eating the whole thing. Seriously, if you want some variety and enjoy sweet/salty, try the pineapple fried rice with cashews (sorry if I mangled the actual thai name..). This restaurant is worth *every* star. read more

I've had the pad thai (not the best pad thai I've had, but still pretty tasty), spicy basil (my favorite that I've had there so far), and pineapple fried rice (tasty, but I'm kind of missing the curry flavor that I'm used to with pineapple fried rice.) Service is always super friendly and fast. Also, they recently increased their price from $5 to $6, which is still not bad, considering the amount of delicious food you get. Thai Garden is a slightly above average food cart in the mall 205 area that is pretty quick, even for a Thai restaurant (lets be honest do slow Thai food carts even exist? If so I've never been to one). Their food has been very good, although slightly spicier than I like the first time I tried it, but every place is different with their spiciness level so that was my fault. Great Thai iced tea, and their pad Thai dishes are great. I've only ordered their pad Thai dishes, and their fried rice dishes, but I'm not very adventurous. You can usually get a baseline feel for a place when you try the common staple dishes they serve of that given cuisine, ie pad Thai... The ladies were very friendly both on the phone when I ordered, as well as when I picked up my order. She said 5 minutes when I called, and I only live over on 122nd. Headed there as soon as I hung up the phone and the food was done by the time I got there, and hot and fresh. Only complaint I have, and I have seen a handful of reviews of here mention the same thing, is I have had a couple long black hairs in two of my dishes. Now most people freak out when this happens but in my opinion, get over it, it happens. That doesn't mean a place is garbage and should receive a 1 star review from Karen. But I will say that's why I can't give them five stars, I can only give them 4. If they start wearing hair nets, I'll happily update this to a five star review! read more

Perfect remedy to my 11 hour day at work... I. Love. Thai Garden. Last week, I nearly had a heart attack when I discovered that they have extended their hours AND are open on Sundays now! Not exactly sure when that changed. Honestly, with school insanity and holiday madness, it had been a bit since I've been there. Tonight, I called in my order and picked it up about twenty minutes before close. The woman in the kitchen area was busy presumably cleaning up and prepping for tomorrow, so her husband (who was standing in the covered porch area) caught her attention and I got my dinner.
