Medium spicy - Pad Se Ew with shrimp

I was craving some Thai food & this medium spicy pad-se-ew with shrimp hit the spot with the exact flavor, that I like. Along with the right amount of fried eggs & broccoli mixed in.

We were looking for a different restaurant in the area and saw this area with food trucks while driving by. When we got to where the restaurant was supposed to be, we couldn't find it so went back instead to the food trucks. I'm glad we did because we had some of the most delicious food I've had in awhile. I got the yellow curry with vegetables and it came with white rice and the melon drink. I went with a mild curry because most places their mild can be hotter. In this case, I could have dialed up the heat. My coworker got the pad thai with chicken and egg rolls. The melon drink was so delicious. I think that was my favorite part of the meal! It tasted of melon and not just sugar and additives.

Officially the best pad thai I've had in Portland! The other items I've tried are delicious (most notably the drunken noodles and crispy rolls) but the pad thai is top notch!

I only ordered the iced melon drink - and wouldn't normally write a review just on that - but it was soooo refreshing on a hot Portland day. Moreover, the lady in the window was incredibly nice.

Pad thai - mild spice with chicken.

Exceptional Thai food- the crab puffs were as good as we have had anywhere. The pad thai was excellent, unfortunately it was so piping hot that we filled up on our other choices from the other places before digging in. What i tasted was really good, just didn't get to eat that much to review.

    Drunken noodle with chicken

This food cart has pretty authentic thai food. I will have to go back and try out different dishes to give a full review. The food quality and quantity can compare pretty closely with the thai restaurant inside H-mart. However I still think the other restaurant is still better in flavor and quantity and the cost is identical. The other restaurant offers free tea. Since I love drunken noodle dish so that was the first dish I tried. The serving size was good for $8. The flavor was almost there. It was definitely lack of any basil flavor as I didn't any basil. Instead they used brocolli which I didn't care for with that dish. I also ordered chicken which was okay. I would like to try tofu next time. Another complain I have with this food cart was that she charged 25 cents for using credit card. It was not much but I wish she had a warning sign about the additional charge like the neighboring mac & cheese stand. So for this reason and no basil, I gave it a 4 stars. Otherwise it would have been 4.5 stars.

$14 for pad see ew & chicken fried rice...large servings and blow- me-away flavor !! Friday nights like this cannot be beat :-)

Pad Kee Mao was great, but the star are the krab puffs. May be the best I've ever had.

pad kee mao w/ tofu ($7)

The pad kee mao ($7) was the best pad kee mao I've had at a food cart. This is the first Thai food cart I encountered where the food actually came out like I had ordered it from a restaurant with the difference being the wait time was significantly shorter. I've had some unfortunate experiences at Thai food carts around Portland where the pad kee mao was just prepped wrong or was lacking ingredients. Here, at E-Side Thai Cuisine, my entire dish was cooked to perfection from the wide rice noodles to the sauteed red & green bell peppers, onions, broccoli, & mushrooms to the fried tofu. The serving was generous enough to allow for two meals so instead of stuffing myself silly I saved the rest for the next day. The prices are a little higher than I've seen elsewhere but I rather pay that extra dollar or two for quality cooking. Check this cart out if you're in the mood for Thai food or have never had Thai food. Waiting outside in the cold, rain, &/or wind won't be so bad once the very nice owner hands over a hot plate of savory noodles & veggies to you. After that first bite is taken you'll forget you were ever cold.

Oh so close to 5. We ordered the chicken yellow curry. He asked "mild, medium or spicy?" "Spicy" we said. "American or thai spicy?" He asked. "Thai" we quipped back. And yes this dish met the call, burning good flavor. Our only pseudo, kept it from 5 star land complaint, was the chicken....it was sort of dry and compared to the chicken from the Namu dish it fell short. The potatoes were the best bite of the dish. Its definitely a do it again, maybe a 4.25 stars kind of place.

The the combination of smoky, tender barbecue with the creamy Thai curry was so good. The burnt ends brought that deep, savory, slightly charred flavor, while the curry gave it a completely different dimension. The flavors worked well. I just wished the burnt ends were more fatty. We also tried a pork belly dish, which was another highlight. The pork was rich and flavorful, and I loved the crispy fried egg, green beans, cucumber, and fish sauce with it. Break up the yolk to dip with the pork. The cucumbers and green beans are a nice clean accompaniment; spicy fish sauce was great - White curry with brisket burnt ends: I've never had a white curry, but the white curry and cauliflower was a great match for the super rich brisket pieces. I love the interesting combination! Note: pretty much everything has some spice to it, so for kids, the jasmine rice and yu choy are the main items, though my older daughter did ok with the fried chicken and brisket! Music was great, and all of the food flavors were bold. Though flavor combinations were unique, everything was cohesive. They were packed on a Wednesday for lunch, so I'm glad we got here before noon to snag a table. I wish the Bay Area had more interesting fusion done right like this (I feel like fusion is a bad word in the food world...)

You can watch them frying the roti in front of you, they have a great flavor (they're a bit on the thick side), and the curry is absolutely sublime, with an incredible depth of spices without being hot. I also really enjoyed the freshness and textural blend of the "rice salad," with great cucumbers and herbs, although it was too spicy for my dining companions. I admit I didn't think the fried chicken was anything special--the chicken was moist (even the white meat), but the outside could have been crunchier. But I'm not the biggest expert in fried chicken, nor in pad thai, and both were certainly competent even if not as exceptional. Sticky rice was also cooked perfectly.
