The food was okay. Not the best Thai but not the worst either. Average The reason I'm rating them a 1 is because they charged us a $6.20 service fee for take out! When we asked why he said " for the containers". Personally I'd rather have it in the price or plainly labeled on the menu. Pad Thai: 5/5 - was legit, and I've eaten at several Thai restaurants in OC, CA. Service was nice; everyone was friendly. The large tom yum soup didn't taste like what I'm used to eating at other Thai restaurants. I loved all the veggies and chicken inside the soup; however, the actual flavors for tom yum soup were not there: 2/5. I would not get this again. Plus, it just came in a bowl and not the usual large soup apparatus that it comes in with a gel candle on bottom to keep it hot the whole time. My friend got the pineapple curry, and it looked and tasted too watered down. I wouldn't order that again. I tried the beef satay, and that wasn't that great either. The quality of meat was lacking. I was feeling a little skeptical about Thai food in Sedona regarding the authenticity of the flavors but this place proved me wrong. The food was super authentic and delicious! The pad thai was on point and the grilled beef salad had fish sauce and Thai chili with rice powder which are authentic spices and flavors. Thai tea was delicious and refreshing. Then came the ordering part - very friendly waiter did not know anything about entries, mixed up all meats despite asking at least twice for each dish. Miso sup had very little to do with a miso soup. Pineapple curry was good, however Phra Ram was a disaster. They forgot to put peanut curry sauce. Tried this place while on vacation. I'm not sure if they have a different style of Thai food in AZ but this is definitely not what I'm used to. We ordered the Beef satay appetizer, the Tom yum soup, Pad thai, and Panang curry. I kept wanting to love something but everything was just a little off. The curry and soup had cucumber which I'm not used to. The beef and noodles were ok but not great. Just underwhelming. Beware if you are getting takeout they will charge you a 10% fee. Which doesn't even make sense since it's less service for them. Not to mention the wait time was about 15 minutes longer then they told us. I am willing to pay good money for good food. I have spent time teaching in Thailand and have eaten at numerous Thai restaurants around the country. The ambiance is okay. The service was minimal and the food not even average. Tom Kha Kai BLAND tasted like nothing more than chicken broth and some coconut milk if there was lemongrass it must have been waved over the bowl and galagal root missing in action. I have never had huge pieces of broccoli cut up in it and no tomato. Just bizarre. And the chicken satay was okay only because of the peanut sauce. read more

I couldn't even eat the food. I have been to Thailand twice and eat Asian 2-3 times weekly. Ugh, it was probably the worst Asian food I have ever had (other than the time we ate Chinese food in Montana and the noodles were from a Chung King can.) Lovely restaurant for lunch. Nice ambience and service was very good. We ordered the Papaya Salad and Phuket Shrimp with a spice level of 3 out of 4, which was more of a medium, but quite delicious. The salad was fresh and wonderful, blessedly less sweet than many other restaurants and they used toasted cashews instead of peanuts, which we thought was a nice change. The Phuket Shrimp is a yellow curry with lots of veggies, including shiitake mushrooms, cabbage, carrots and broccoli, and the egg and ginger is what really makes this dish special. I always order the same thing the first time I try a Thai restaurant: Tom Kah and Pad Thai. (I know, I know I'm basic.). Both were phenomenal! I had the chicken pad Thai and my sister had the vegetarian pad Thai. The vegetarian version was packed with veggies and tofu. The portions allowed us to have dinner and lunch the following day. The Tom Kai was the perfect blend of seasonings and came with generous amounts of vegetables. The food arrived quickly and the service staff was very polite. When we arrived we were greeted nicely and told it would be a 20 minute wait. It was around 5:30 on a Thursday. We waited and seated in about 10 minutes at a table set for six. Since there were no big groups waiting they decided to give the table to us. It was just my wife and I. They had won Best Of for 2025, so I was excited. The atmosphere is nice with wood beams. There was a very brisk take away business happening. And the waiting list was growing. There was a second room where they could have seated those waiting but didn't. I can only assume they did not have the staff to serve a full house. So a place named Thai Spices and a Best of 2025, I looked forward to a great meal. This is our last evening in Sedona and so far every meal has been great. This meal was not great. Everything was bland. I got their Hot and Sour Soup. It was neither hot nor sour. It was more of a vegetable broth with veggies in it. I had added chicken which I'm sure if I threw it on the floor it would have bounced. I got the Duck Curry and ordered it 3 chili hot. The curry was watery and lacked any real curry spices flavor. My wife had a rice noodle garlic with veggies dish. That had better flavor, but like everything else there was something lacking like Spices and flavor. I would not recommend this place considering how many really good restaurants there are in Sedona. read more

I was visiting Sedona and as I drove by after a 6and a half hour drive from LA my mouth watered when I saw the sign. As I stopped in, a group of three came after me. There were several waiting and empty tables at a little after 6 pm. The Mom in the other group and I were checking out the dated furniture and carpet. That usually means food is good, we said. It seriously looked like the 70's in 2 rooms of someone's house. The guy came to reception and first thought we were all together as a group, and I told the guy it was just me and they were another group. I ordered takeout over the phone on August 22nd. The taste was more or less. I was not impressed. The total was $40. I paid $6 for extra shrimp, but they only gave me 4. At the time of paying, I did not notice that they charged a Take-Out Fee (10%) and I even gave them a tip of $1.38. The final total was $56.52, which seems too much to me. After reading the reviews, I realized that many people also complained about the excessive charge of the Take-Out Fee. The owner also put a jar to collect extra tips. It is very abusive on the part of the restaurant. I NEVER, anywhere was charged that famous "Take Out Fee" for 10%, it seems to me an abuse on the owner's part. That's why I only give it 1 star.
