    Lunch Menu
    Norma N.

Food was delicious, service was great! We were greeted and sat as we walked in the door. Look through the menu ordered for lunch, menus and everybody raved about it all. Sweet-and-sour pork was nice and tender and tasty beef broccoli was a hit with the fried rice shrimp moo Shi was the bomb. Would highly recommend when in town visiting.

We were here for lunch, not too many people during lunch hours. The menu is more like one sushi menu, one American Chinese food menu. Not a really authentic Szechuan cuisine. I got the Mongolia beef with fried rice and a salad. Food quantity is large, totally enough for a hungry person. Husband also got a sushi roll to share, sushi is fresh and rice is good quality.

    Kung pao beef

We arrived in Sedona hungry and craving Asian food, and this was one of the few Asian restaurants in the area. I was a little hesitant at first, but the food ended up being surprisingly good. The shrimp fried rice was flavorful and came with big pieces of lightly battered shrimp. The crispy rice noodles were also delicious, loaded with veggies and served on a sizzling hot plate that kept everything warm, which was a nice touch. The kung pao beef was my favorite; the beef was tender, the vegetables were fresh, and the sauce had great flavor. Portions were large, prices were reasonable, and the customer service was great from start to finish. I actually wanted to stop by again before leaving Sedona, but it just didn't fit into the itinerary. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Sedona.

    Sizzling tofu

I enjoyed the sizzling tofu, which was indeed sizzling hot (temperature, not spice). The server brought it next to the table and allowed the sizzling to cease before placing it on the table, which was appreciated. I asked for this dish to be made spicy, and they added a little spice, which seemed stronger aromatically than when actually eating it. The sauce is flavorful and the meal consists mostly of tofu and water chestnuts, with a few pieces of broccoli and pea pods. The server was attentive and helpful. The ambiance is OK, and typical of a local establishment. Parking is competitive with very few dedicated spots (as it is everywhere in Sedona), and we narrowly grabbed a spot in the full Whole Foods parking lot next door. The prices are high given the location in Sedona, but I have no complaints about the food quality or service.

Let me start by saying that this is not authentic Chinese food. The only thing that felt authentic was the Chinese decor in the restaurant. Everything else was below mediocre. Honestly, Panda Express tastes more authentic than this place. We visited for the first time this week and ordered the eggplant with spicy garlic sauce, spicy wontons, beef and broccoli, and white rice. The beef was rubbery, although the broccoli was decent. The eggplant was smothered in a thick oyster sauce and was barely edible. The spicy wontons were a joke. They tasted like frozen wontons that had been microwaved and then tossed into a bowl of greasy chili oil. The texture was rubbery, and you could tell they had been previously frozen. They were soggy, and the bottoms tasted undercooked. When we mentioned the rubbery texture to a staff member, her response was simply that this was how the dish was supposed to be. Even the white rice tasted like it had been sitting around for days. The worst part of our visit was the restaurant's cleanliness and safety. There was a small piece of broken glass on our chair, which caused cuts on both my finger and my child's hand. There was also leftover food on the chair. After we informed the staff, we were moved to another table, only to find food residue on the chair there as well. To their credit, the staff offered us complimentary egg rolls and cream cheese wontons, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, those were disappointing too. The egg roll lacked any crispiness, and the filling was mushy, as if it had been previously frozen and removed from the fryer too soon. The cream cheese wontons were also soggy and mushy on the bottom. We took one bite and left the rest. There were about seven staff members working that night. Despite it being a slow evening, most of them were standing around chatting. One would think that with so many employees and so few customers, the restaurant would be cleaner and the service more attentive. I honestly can't understand how this place has a 4- or 5-star rating on Yelp. If I could give it zero stars, I would. You would be better off buying frozen Chinese food from the grocery store than spending money here. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

The sushi was okay. I wish they spent more time on presentation. It's good to have a sushi spot in town but if I were back in town I'd definitely need to see a shift in reviews to try it out again.

    MoMo Roll

Stopped here for dinner last night and was generally enjoyable. We ordered a sushi roll, orange chicken, and a tofu dish. The sushi roll (MoMo roll) was delicious - much larger than expected. The orange chicken was very disappointing. It seemed like it was sweet and sour chicken that was a past order that they put orange glaze on. The texture was rubbery. The tofu dish was good - but something we won't seek out again. Overall definitely interested in coming back for other sushi. The ambiance was typical Chinese restaurant with more upscale decor. The clientele appeared to be older generation overall. Service was decent but nothing to write home about.

We were surprised to find this excellent Chinese restaurant in Sedona. From the decor to service to food; Czechuan Restaurant met and exceeded all expectations. We tried many of their entrees including ma po tofu, crispy duck, green beans, Mongolian beef, and sushi (yes, sushi!). All excellently prepared and good portion sizes too. My favorite was the Mongolian beef and hubby liked the duck. Highly recommend!!!

I was honestly kind of disappointed by this place is considering any other time I've ever come here in the past the food has been stellar. I just wasn't impressed with the quality this time around the egg roll was way overpriced. The walnut shrimp was phenomenal. Mongolian beef was just OK same with the fried rice

Mongolian Beef at 2:00, pork fried rice at 6:00 and Kund Kung Pao Chicken at 10:00.

This was a surprise, good Szechuan food in Sedona. We did takeout so we didn't eat in the restaurant. Inside the atmosphere was bright, clean and perfect. The staff was very good and helpful when I picked up the food. The food was excellent - we finished it all. The standout was the fried rice, best we've had west of the Mississippi. The Mongolian Beef was superb with the right amount of spice. The Kung Pao Chicken was also very good, packed with peanuts, chicken, and peppers. A real surprise we'll go back to again. Don't miss it if you're hunger for Chinese in Sedona.

When we're in Sedona we eat here. The food is excellent, the decor is very in theme and the service is always great.

This place is next to Whole Foods, behind an Italian restaurant. Once we discovered the front of the restaurant, I knew we were in for a treat because of the authentic look outside. We were greeted at the door by a very polite staff. This place was so beautiful inside see attached photos. We could tell the owners really take pride. The ambiance was amazing. Our waiter Jason was very knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent suggestions. He brought out the salads and soup and they were beautiful. The portion size's were We're huge and stunning. The food was absolutely delicious and picture perfect. What a fantastic lunch !!! We will be back and will be telling all our friends about our experience today.

Is it possible for us to get vegetarian options without oyster sauce? Can we get fried rice without egg?

Yes the green beans are amazing and I'm pretty sure you can request without eggs. They Offer some vegetarian options and vegetarian sushi

Do they have an all you can eat sushi option?

I have never seen that here. I eat here about four times a month so I'd guess I'd have seen or been offered it if they did.

The large tom yum soup didn't taste like what I'm used to eating at other Thai restaurants. I loved all the veggies and chicken inside the soup; however, the actual flavors for tom yum soup were not there: 2/5. I would not get this again. Plus, it just came in a bowl and not the usual large soup apparatus that it comes in with a gel candle on bottom to keep it hot the whole time. My friend got the pineapple curry, and it looked and tasted too watered down. I wouldn't order that again. I tried the beef satay, and that wasn't that great either. The quality of meat was lacking. It wasn't that tender, and it didn't have char on it. I don't think it was grilled at all. The meat looked like it was Mongolian beef from a fast food Chinese place. The peanut sauce was okay. The pickled cucumber and onion on the side were too sweet. The rice was soft and nice to eat. Their veggie eggrolls were delicious. Good size, nice crisp, tasty filling. Great appetizer: 5/5.

Disclaimer: Rarely 5 stars because there is always room for improvement…read more.. Honestly, I don't really want to write this review because it's one of those hidden gems that I sort of want to gatekeep, but I can't be selfish lol. This place has been around since 1985, at a couple locations, but currently they sit on a corner in the Restore shopping center. Waaaaay unassuming from the outside, but fear not, the menu is awesome. I've been here twice. The first time was a few months ago and we missed the lunch specials because of time, so we ordered off the regular menu. I had a huge bowl of war wonton soup filled with fresh chicken and shrimp and veg. These bowls are meant for sharing so I had two more meals from it. I'm also pretty sure I had the gyoza, all of which is made in house. My second visit was yesterday, a Wednesday at lunchtime. The restaurant itself is not huge, approximately 10-ish tables, but most were full. We were greeted promptly with jasmine tea - it was about 85 and humid that day, but I asked for a cup of ice and made some fabulously refreshing jasmine iced tea! Hit the spot! This time I ordered the mu-shu chicken lunch special. There are so many standard hunan options available like Kung Pao, sweet and sour, etc. each lunch comes with your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, served with a bowl of crispy wontons, white or fried rice and a mini egg roll. These portions are huge! For anywhere between $14.25-$14.55!!!! The mu-shu comes with a tangy plum sauce and two pancakes, tons of white meat chicken, bok choy, green onions...just so tasty. The chicken fried rice was a massive portion also, served on the same plate, so it all became one eventually. The soup was delicious, light and great amount of egg...the eggroll was typical and I'm not a huge fan, but it worked. But the mains are really just good down home eats. I literally had enough leftovers for another two meals. Hunan is family owned and ran...our server is the son and he is delightful and fun and engaging and thoughtful and just so lovely. Service is unpretentious and welcoming. It's an older building and the interior is what people would say is dated, but you aren't eating here for asthetics! It's off the beaten path off Route 66, but definitely worth going out of the way a bit. Flag has changed a lot in the five years I've been in AZ, and there is basically most fast food chains and other garbage, which is why I tend to love the little mom and pops that have history and longevity. And because it's located in Old Flagstaff you get more authenticity and less crowds and superficial, "trendy" restaurants. I'm old school, I like personable hospitality and good, quality, inexpensive eats. Definitely worth a visit!
