As a Thai food fanatic, I walked in ready for a food adventure but left feeling like I'd been tricked with the ol' bait-and-switch. The Phad Kee Mao? Surprisingly decent. Let's call it the "least disappointing," which sadly made it the highlight. Now, the Crispy Garlic Chicken, think "crispy" in an ironic sense. It was soggy and salty enough to raise my blood pressure just by looking at it. Then came the Beef Salad, where the beef put up a serious fight.....chewy like it was training for the next Rocky movie. The Green Curry was bland enough to make me question what I was eating, and the Massaman Curry was like watered-down soup. I'm not sure who thought it should be so thin, but they need to revisit the definition of "curry." Now, let's talk about service. I would, if there had been any. We had a great lunch on a Sunday afternoon here! They were able to get our group of 7 in right away without a wait. The Cashew Nut with chicken was delicious. ($17) White rice was extra ($2) And a Thai iced tea to complete the meal ($5) With tip and tax lunch came out to just over $31 which is bit more than I'd like to spend. As for drinks, they had a wine and beer list, as well as some juices and of course, Thai coffee and Thai tea. I ordered the wok fried seafood, which came in a yellow curry and we had a large bowl of brown rice to share for the six of us. When asked how many stars out of four for my dish, I ordered three, which was spicy enough! I liked that my dish came with an abundance of seafood: squid, scallops, shrimp and crab since I love seafood, and the portion was large enough that I was set for lunch the next day. I've been to this chain before, and this was my first visit to this location. The food was very good. Got the phad Thai with shrimp. My friend ordered the yellow curry with chicken. We shared a bowl of white rice. The portions were just right. The food was fresh, hot and of a good quality. My friend said he really enjoyed his food. Mine was also quite tasty. Service was lacking but am aware that there is a shortage of staff in the industry. No one was at the host stand, and a waitress waved us over to a table. She didn't greet us and seemed put out when presented with a gift certificate given to me by the owner. Drinks weren't refilled. There were just two ladies working the floor, and we were checked on once by them. They were busy with a half filled dining room and the phone kept ringing with to go orders. Guay tiew naam with beer: the soup is honey and I like the noodles, but it's a pretty basic dish Pla lard prik: the fish was nicely cook. It still have a few bones in there but not bad. I got this as 10 stars because I wanted to know how spicy it was and it was definitely spicy, but I don't think I would rate it as 10 star though. Overall, a decent Thai place. One thing to look out for when ordering takeout: Check the spiciness level. Two of the dishes I ordered were 0 spice and one was 3 spice. However, even though they were labeled appropriately, somehow they were mixed up so the spicy dish was 0 star and one of the 0 stars was spicy. The texture of the curry is more gooey and thick than I like. I requested 4 Stars for my halibut cheeks but I couldn't taste the spiciness; the description even said spicy. That was disappointing. The fish was good on both dishes. There halibut cheeks had 3 pieces, while the salmon was one big piece. Both dishes had a generous amount of sauce. I took my leftovers home, adding veggies to thin down the sauce. So good (and better). Scored a second meal. We'll probably still return when requested by friends. Somehow Yelp didn't show me I'd already reviewed Thai Ginger, but I'm happy to have an opportunity to upgrade my review. They have been so consistently good for years now, it deserves another star. I'm so in love with their tiny spring rolls full of glass noodles (although I wish they'd ventilate the box so they'd stay crisp), and the other day they were out, but when the kitchen heard we were asking for them, they started making the next batch of rolls right away. Also you can rely on their accurate spice levels, which is great if you're not always up for really spicy. In season they have divine mangoes and sticky rice. This is a necessity because my husband introduced me to this dish and we love eating it together. I have been to this place many times. Food is not awesome quality but overall good and location is very convenient for me. But their service and food quality has been getting worse day by day. In my recent visit, I ordered a soup and a main course. The soup was served pretty late and when it came I found it way more spicy than what I requested. Being there many times I exactly knew what spice level to expect but it was way above that. Also the soup was lacking salt. It felt like it was prepared in a hurry. The other dish was on the other hand was too salty with too much soy sauce. Again this is a dish I have ordered many times before and was never this bad. I didn't have time to ask to reprepare it as it was already too late. I gave the feedback to the server at the end. Generally in this sort of scenario, you hear apology and taking off the price or at least give some discount. Togo from here was the worst decision we made . Right from placing order had to tackle with rude customer service. I asked how spicy is their 2*, when compared in general , they were like how do I know ... The tone in general was very rude. Never mind coming to the food, the wok seafood was so so so sweet and bland , it was nothing like wok , it was like gravy and extremely sweet . Crab fried rice was decent enough and this is one dish we liked . The yellow curry fried rice was average but the chicken and carrots in their didn't taste fresh at all. Finally a beef dish, the beef was chewy and the gravy literally had no flavor. This Thai ginger, is no way compared to the Seattle one . I live seattle chain and the food is so fresh and lovely , wish the standards are maintained. We held our Microsoft team dinner at the Thai Ginger Redmond Town Center location and had a great experience. Although we didn't have a private room, we still had a five star experience. Kay and Kate were super helpful in the planning. They made sure it was a great experience for our team. Why five stars? It's the perfect venue because it's close to Microsoft's corporate offices in Redmond. And, the menu is super accommodating if you have team members with special diets (vegan, gf, etc.). There is quite frankly something for everyone What's more! It's great food at a reasonable price. The waiter came over fairly quickly, but as I was ordering he interrupted me mid sentence and said "I'll be right back" and never came back.
