Had early dinner here on Friday evening when the place wasn't very crowded and were seated right away. We had fresh rolls and golden vegetables as appetizers and they were both good. The vegetables were likely steamed before being battered and fried which made them quite tasty (unlike the more al dente vegetable tempura in Japanese places). The dipping sauce for the fresh rolls was relatively unique in taste and consistency with crumbled peanuts. Yellow curry, Pad kee mao (drunken noodle) were tasty and of decent portion size. Kids enjoyed their Tiger Tearless ( NY steak) and the portion was a bit smaller than expected. The service was average and felt rushed at appetizer course as they were wanting to get our main entrees served. Overall a good sit down restaurant and recommended if craving a Thai fix. read more

I've had better pad thais in my life. Noodles seemed soggy and the sauce was weird. Instead of the typical tamarind sauce it tasted like they used something else - have no idea. Waitstaff was fine, there was nothing of note. I think my least favorite part of that meal was the bad ambiance/lighting. Light streamed in from the window and created this bright white glare at our table, making it difficult to look outwards toward the window to talk to fellow diners (see photos, although camera adjusted light levels to make it look less dramatic than it was. The white sunlight streaming from the window also clashed with the warmer colors inside the restaurant. Also, the wait was long. Food took a very, very long time to get out. I ordered food to go so I could eat with my son at home, an order of Pad Thai and Tom Kha both with zero spice. Got home to enjoy both and the soup was scrumptious and not spicy at all, was worried because I saw red pepper flakes floating but it was perfect, and I wished I had ordered a whole bowl rather than a cup-although the cup price was a little steep, $9 for a small container. But again, delish! Now comes the pad thai, I asked for NO spice and took a bite & I'm about to down a gallon of milk and my lips are about to burst into flames because it is sooo spicy!! The taste is delish but I cannot even eat it so I'm a sad panda I love spice but my body does not so I cannot even handle the heat let alone what it does to my insides anymore. Boo. Someone went happy with the spice and it's so disappointing. It's even too spicy for my son but he will bear it cause he's tough I would've given a 4.8 rating because the service was great & waitstaff very friendly but I'm so disappointed in not being able to eat a delicious dish because it was covered in spice when I asked for ZERO spice I would just grin and bear it because the flavor is great but I will not be able to sleep all night if I do. Coming here was a mistake. - They charged a different price on my bill then what was printed on the menu for a dish. - We asked for "as spicy as you can make it" and was given something with 0 spice. Like really, zero. - The springroll appetizers were not advertised on the menu as "mini versions" but what came out were 1 inch mini rolls that appeared to be 99% just deep fried wrapper and just a hint of filling. I could not actually find filling. - The drinks were watered down and one of our party didn't get any water for the longest time. - the fish was super overcooked to the point where that entree was just not eaten at all. The BEST crab meat fried rice we've ever had! My three kids and husband basically wolfed down the dish and my youngest was delighted that there was actually legit crab meat to chow down. Came a few weeks ago. The food was your average Thai food. We ordered pad thai, rice and curries. The only complaint I have and to advise everyone, for a group they automatically add on the gratuity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I did not see that posted anywhere. They don't bring you a printed out bill to look at, the server just stood over my husband with the credit card machine. He added on a gratuity. When he asked for a printed out receipt, I noticed the already gratuity... in the end, they got a 45% gratuity!! Would they have charged us the automatic gratuity if we all asked for separate checks?? I checked the reviews after the fact and it looks like they have done this several times. It appears it happens at all their locations. Will I come back? Maybe, but probably not, this place is out of the way (only came for family near here) and the food was average Thai food. If we do we'll definitely pay attention and ask for a printed bill first. read more

We have been going to this place for 10+ years - the food is decent and location was good. Recently, the quality of food and service was going down a little but we were attributing it to low traffic during Covid. However, based on our experience today, they have lost me as a customer permanently. It is their service and rudeness that did it for us. The two of us went with our young son today to the restaurant; neither of us were very hungry but we were there because we were celebrating something for our son. So, we ordered two dishes instead of three. The hostess was clearly taken aback and became rude. We let it go. Then we get food and they intentionally brought it in smaller lunch plates with lesser quantity than the typical dinner plates that everyone around us were getting; the food was clearly more spicy than what we had requested; we let it all go since we were celebrating. And then came the best part - the hostess tacked on 25% gratuity before billing us! I have never seen this happen at any restaurant for 3 people before and certainly not here! He totally ruined our dinner by making me feel guilt about choosing the table we would like to sit (since some tables are under little to no light) he said it was fine for us to sit there. What happened to this place?? We've come here off and on for years and always had prompt, friendly service with consistent food. We placed an order for pickup on Toast and when I arrived at the scheduled time, the woman working said they had a huge line, only one chef and I'd have to wait another 30 minutes. I explained that I couldn't wait (two hungry kids in the car) and asked her to cancel my order. They were so far behind they hadn't even started it so she happily agreed. Fast forward a month and I've been calling, emailing and texting for a refund to my order and they've totally ignored me. The chicken pad Thai here is high key slaps. Like Deadass. 10/10 would recommend that. However when my friend paid cash and I paid the remaining on my card, they charged me $3 extra for nothing?!?! It had been quite a few years since I last ate at Thai Ginger, and was a bit shocked with the rude customer service which is why I gave 3 stars. I went for lunch with some coworkers and the waitress right at the start of ordering was very rude in her tone. One of my coworkers wanted to make a change to her order, but the waitress said abruptly, "no, I already sent your order to the kitchen" as she was using an electronic device. She later said she would go check the kitchen to see if she can change it, then came back to take the order. My coworker then placed her order, then the waitress said that was from the dinner menu, but proceeded to take the order anyway. These are just a couple of examples. There are certainly better ways of responding and giving customers a positive experience. It was not necessary for her to respond in such a negative and abrupt tone giving us a strange and uncomfortable dining experience. She did come around and refill our water a few times. At least the food was decent in line with other Thai places, so maybe take out is a better option. read more
