Solid. I've been coming here for many years. My husband's fam also frequents this place. The atmosphere inside is cozy, and has remained the same, which I happen to like. As a vegetarian, there are many options here to satisfy my palette. The portions are also quite generous and great for sharing. If you dine in, be sure to get the hot tea. Especially as the weather is cooling down in NY! Some of our favorite dishes: drunken noodles (I get it with tofu, my husband and son like it with beef), pineapple fried rice, pad Thai, spicy eggplant dish, the curries...(I like to pair with coconut rice). I really hate to give a 1 star review... but this time, it had to happen. Whenever I'm in the area, I usually order Thai food from Sawadee, which I love, but this time I decided to shake it up. Let's just say, next time I'll stick to my usual. Since I ordered from UberEats, I can't comment on the service or ambiance. I ordered the Gaeng Keo Wahn Curry and Lar Nard, both of which were solid tasting, but not long after, I had symptoms of food poisoning. I came here for a dinner, and to start off, the service was super slow. The guy at the front first helped the tables that got seated after us, like why? Also, he took over 5 minutes to pour 4 glasses of water. How hard can that be honestly? I got the pad ki mao or the drunken noodles with chicken and told him to make it more spicy. The food came out quickly, and the plate was still steaming which I appreciate. The drunken noodles were good and were definitely on the spicier side. They were very skimpy with the chicken though: very small, chewy slices of chicken. Not good quality or preparation. Really enjoy the food here. Basil chicken is fantastic. Panang curry is amazing. Love all of the soups. Difficult to choose which one to get because they are all so good. Our family has been going here for many years and the food has always been consistently fresh, plentiful and tasty. Last night we ordered 3 entrees, 2 apps and a soup. It was obvious that there is a now a new chef/ recipe. All 3 entrees were made differently and had a salty, saucy consistency. Rice and noodle dishes were in a starchy saucy base where previously they were not. One dish was requested without onions/ scallions and came out at least 10 minutes later than the others with onions and scallions in it. First time that we came here. Saw it from the road. Cute place and the food is delish. We started with the steak salad it was quite tender and crispy cool. My husband had basil duck and I had chicken panang curry. My dish was loaded with chicken and I had to take half home. The basil duck was more than enough for him. Great spot in Northport for Thai food! I've eaten here a few times between take out and dine in. The food is great either way. I love the soups here! There's a lemongrass/shrimp soup that's my go to but I also really like the coconut milk soup. I've tried spring rolls and dumplings mainly for apps - pretty standard but very tasty. The chicken pad thai is what I usually order. I've also tried the basil chicken, green curry and a handful of other items. I'm never scared to explore this menu...everything on here is worth trying! The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. This will remain my go to spot for Thai! read more

Decent Thai food in Suffolk. It's hard to get good Thai in Suffolk but this is acceptable. Pad thai is okay, could use some more flavor though. Pineapple fried rice needs a lot more flavor. Spicy basil chicken had very little Thai basil flavor, but I still enjoyed it. If I were in Suffolk again and had a craving for Thai, I'd definitely order from thai green leaf again out of desperation. But there are so many better Thai places in Nassau and even better in NYC. Ordered here about a week ago for takeout. It was pretty disappointing. Now please keep in mind we eat Thai often and have had very good Thai. We ordered a whole bunch of food. The satay for both chicken and beef we both a bit dry and just big chunks of meet. The spring rolls weee a bit over fried. The pad see eaw was just a bunch of mushy flat noodle that seemed to have been very over cooked and fried up. No real flavor of what it should taste like. The pad ki mao was pretty much the same but with some spice, noodles again were overly cooked. The pineapple coconut fried rice was ok, nothing great just fried rice. The Gaeng Panang curry was actually the only thing that was only thing that was ok. For sure not a place that I would ever try again personally. read more

This is the absolute rock bottom when it comes to Thai food. The shrimp pad Thai was terrible. Bland and lifeless looking and no spiciness whatsoever! No bean sprouts. Hardly any scallions.... Overly dry and the shrimp were so small! The steamed chicken dumplings were just as bad if not worse. Ugly looking and tasted like wet cardboard. The sauce was too too sweet. Last but not least on this list of the worst foods I've ever eaten are the spring rolls. Not only were they greasy as heck they were mushy on the inside with absolutely no texture. I could not discern The shrimp from the cabbage from whatever else was in there. They were abysmal. I ate two bites of the spring roll and threw it away. I ate one and a half dumplings and threw the rest away. I had about six forkfuls of the pad Thai because I was starving and threw that away too. What a shame... SMH. $25 down the drain..... Go to Sawadee on Larkfield Road. Much much better! read more

Pad Thai lovers steer clear. I received a giant pile of bland grey noodles with a small pinch of peanuts and green onions. No flavor at all. I had asked for "Thai hot", the usual Thai restaurant hack for white people who actually like spicy food. It came out as spicy as mayonnaise. I had to ask for prik pow powder just to make it edible. And I was REALLY hungry going into this, so you know it had to be pretty bad. The spring rolls were very greasy, and they give you two that are broken in half and call it four. My fiancée told me that the tofu in the curry was soggy, not fried crispy like the good places. Our daughter introduced us to Thai Green Leaf about two years ago, but she's been buying here for years... It's unbelievably good!!... Everything is so delicious, our faves are cashew chicken, pineapple chicken, garlic chicken and spicy pad Thai.. The ingredients are delightfully fresh, and clearly very carefully chosen,,and the myriad flavors are just truly delectable!! It's all so absolutely satisfying in every way. Green Leaf has now become the "go to restaurant" for our family, especially for birthdays/ celebrations because it is consistently just very special, (we usually order through door dash) there's always excellent options for everyone in our group..from little ones to us grandparents. By far the best Asian influenced food we've ever had. read more

Long story. I love Thai food. Since I was young it's been top three behind Vietnamese food, Dim Sun and sushi (I can't count.) I went to Thailand in 97 and was amazed at how good the street food was. So dissatisfied with my dinner tonight. I didn't order dishwater with pink chicken, but that's what I got. Sauce was bland with no flavor. The chicken was shreds of rubbery pink "meat". Tao Hu Hor. My favorite Thai dish and one that's not typically on menus. Thai Green Leaf has it and it's so so good! Bean curd sheets wrapped around bamboo shoots and mushrooms, smothered in a salty black bean sauce over spinach. It's a lot lighter than your typical (delicious) curries, yet satisfying and full of goodness for you. I'd like some right about now and there's not a single place in the vicinity of home that has it. Sadness. Thai Green Leaf is small (for Long Island), humble restaurant with really good food. My family was happy with all of their food, even my mom who typically doesn't love Thai food (the shrimp fried rice is a good choice for folks like her). Portions are generous, but not obnoxiously so. Service is nice. It's all good, y'know? My only issue: take that flat screen TV out of the dining room. It ruins the ambiance. People can rip themselves away from the TV for an hour to share a meal with each other, can't they? If not, they can take out and have at it at home. Just a little pet peeve of mine.
