The food was good but the service was awful. We went on a recent Saturday night with a party of five. There was only one person working the dining room, taking orders, bringing tea and water (no alcohol license), answering the phone, handling takeout orders, etc. He was obviously stretched very thin and it was next to impossible to get his attention if we needed anything. Out entrees were very good (Mongolian Beef, Triple Delight, Kung Pao Shrimp, and a Spicy Beef dish. The appetizers and soup were just average takeout quality, with the wonton soup being especially disappointing. I asked for a Coke, and a can was put on the table. I had to request a glass and ice. Zero ambiance. Stark white walls, nothing on them, plastic tablecloths, and we were given plastic forks to eat our canned pineapple dessert. Panda used to be just ok with great prices but inconsistent food that always somehow took forever to get even when they weren't busy. Since being sold, the new Panda is just awesome. They renovated the whole restaurant, changed the entire POS system, updated the menu and make it just amazingly good. Great portions, offers large pieces of sweet and sour chicken which is not my preference but still good.

Menu has changed & prices have increased since it reopened, but still very good & fresh. Appreciate that they will take special requests for take out if you call directly. I really wanted to like the new Panda restaurant. The old Panda was a neighborhood staple for five decades (!) but was definitely in need of a refresh. On the refresh front, the new Panda is a success. The food- not so much. I've tried it four times now and probably will not be going back. Nothing was outright terrible, it's more that nothing was very good. For example, the egg drop soup was way too gelatinous, so much so that it stuck to the spoon when I flipped it over (seriously). I ordered several different breaded chicken dishes (like sesame) and each was very over-breaded, to the point where some pieces felt like all bread. I must say., the food we ordered was good. First we had a bowl of fresh Chinese noodles and duck sauce. Tasted like they had made them recently. Then we ordered wonton soup...nice broth, standard wontons but overall good. Our luncheon specials were really good. My husband got the boneless ribs -he actually got more meat than the fried rice that came with it. Usually the rice prevails, but not here. I had s esame chicken, great sauce-very flavorful and the chicken was nice and crispy. My grandson and got Sweet n Sour chicken that was lightly done and tender. The fried rice was simple, but tasted better than it looked. Could probably benefit from a few peas or sprouts but def better than a lot of fried rices I've had. The best was the roast pork egg fu young! Better than I've had in a long time. I would order takeout from them, but I really feel the interior is in dire need of a clean - up or renovation. I couldn't tell if they were about to start one or were just really sloppy-there were supplies stacked up all over some of the walls and only 1 large table and 3 booths available for use. Since the ownership changed 2-3 years ago, I would stay away from Panda. I had been a customer since moving into the neighborhood in 1986 and the food was spectacular. Now all the dishes are bland and tasteless. My previous and to be last order was so horrible I couldn't eat it. I brought it back, said my piece, left it on the counter, and walked out, never to return there again. For example, the Sesame chicken looked like a common chicken concoction with some sesame seeds sprinkled on top. As soon as you ate the top pieces with the seeds, you couldn't tell it was sesame chicken from any of their other chicken dishes. Stay away! read more

This restaurant may look a bit old, but the food is truly exceptional. I especially loved their General Tso's Chicken -- crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and incredibly delicious. I've only tried shrimp fried rice and spicy shrimp with garlic sauce. I'm close to 5 star so will update it once I try a few more dishes. The garlic sauce is good, slightly spicy, a little sweet and sour. Veggies like red peppers, celery and "wood ear "mushrooms. Good flavor and texture. The main menu portion is so big it's 2 meals. Food: subpar main course, low on flavor. My dish was a beef entry, meat not chewable, vegetables had wilted a long time before they got cooked. Soup with dumplings was ok. The dinning room is so out dated the chairs were all ripped and dirty there was dust hanging off of things the ceiling was stained from water marks . Honestly the state of the environment turned me off to ordering from here again. The staff was super nice and friendly and attentive. The restaurant finally appears to have changed hands in addition to which they have made some long long overdue improvements inside. We haven't ordered from Panda in quite a while. We were very pleased with our food. We have tried a few other places and we enjoyed Panda the most. The wonton soup is just as I remembered, not salty, dumplings not too thick. We ordered two combo plates. Chicken and broccoli and chicken and mixed vegetables. It is the best Chinese food in the area. The food is packed with flavor, and it isn't too salty. My favorites are their fried dumplings, Dim Sum, Moo Shoo Pork and their Fried Rice. Their Fried Rice isn't oily, but it's also not dry. The Prices are roughly even with most other Chinese Places in the area. The decor is decent and on par for other restaurants in local shopping centers. It is not as fancy as other newer asian resteruants, but the price point is also significantly cheaper. Service is consistent and friendly. We recently went to catch up with old friends, and we never once felt rushed. I have eaten there many times over the years. The first time we visited Panda we had paper thin scallion pancakes which were absolutely delicious. We had one shrimp roll, hot and sour soup and one order of shrimp with lobster sauce on the lunch menu. The hot and sour soup was very spicy and good. The shrimp roll was filled with cabbage and very little shrimp. Nevertheless, we visited again one week later because of the scallion pancakes and to try some some other things. This time, the scallion pancakes not crispy or paper thin. The wings were very good. The spare ribs were very chewy and tough. However, the hot and sour soup was just terrible. When we opened our takeout containers you could see a very thick layer of grease. We tried to pour off most of the grease and just eat the vegetables. We wound up throwing the soup out. We have never had soup that had a huge layer of grease on it like this. Our bill was about $32. They should have skimmed the soup and not the customer! This was a takeout order that should never been taken out. Take us off of their customer list. read more

The seasoning is perfect, they are stuffed to the brim with filling and the dough is springy. Also they are perfectly pan fried. Give them a try! This is the best Chinese food I've had outside of Wo Hop in Chinatown, NYC. I went with recommendations and the Sesame Chicken (white meat)was delicious and FRESH, not made with frozen breaded nuggets like a lot of places. The fried dumplings were awesome and full of flavor and NOT oil. I could actually taste the ginger. We also had Chicken with cashew nuts and didn't request white meat only and it too was delicious and fresh! This is my new go-to Chinese Restaurant.
