We went at dinner time on a Saturday night and although there weren't too many people dining in, there were quite a lot of people picking food up. This made our wait pretty long as there was only one person handling all of the customers. The Dr Pepper was completely flat, like no carbonation at all, but the waitress took it off the bill after two failed attempts. I think the machine may have been messed up. The booth felt a little low for the height of the table and a man at the bar kept going out to smoke HOWEVER, we were willing to overlook all those minor inconveniences because the service was friendly and the food was DELICIOUS! The best Thai spot hubs and I have been to since moving to Charlotte...and we've been here for a year. Service is 10/10, food is 11/10. We ordered enough for 4 people even though it was just the 2 of us. As we're eating we mention how great leftovers will be. But I can't comment on that because we ended up eating everything. One of the worst experiences we've ever had from a delivery. Menu pictures and descriptions are absolutely nothing like what was delivered. We ordered the King and I and Rice Soup with Chicken and what we received was 5 pieces of tiny, boiled shrimp and a nominal amount of minced chicken in broth. We called to complain and clarify and Nash told us that the kitchen would apologize to us and they'd do better next time. And when we tasted it, everything was bland and tasteless. I love Thai House (and Thai food) and most often frequent the University location. Second time ordering from here and it's just as good as what I'm used to. I absolutely love the pad woonsen w/shrimp and when I get a taste for Thai House, this is what I want. I called my order in and arrived about 40 minutes later and it was ready. The person belong me was very friendly and pleasant both on the phone and in person. The dining room at this location is pretty small but it feels more intimate. It's in a shopping center and shared the lot with Plane Fitness. My meal was great and of course a side of white rice is included, although you can request brown if you'd like. The authenticity of Thai House is shown in its exotic interior and through the robust flavors of the dishes. The menu was extensive with many many good options to choose from. The staff were friendly and attentive - promptly filling up water, and we didn't even wait long on the check. I had the Penang curry and tried the golden shrimp appetizer. The curry was a little bit more spicy than I would have liked, but still good. The shrimp was well seasoned and fried to perfection. OH how I love the Thai House! We are from OHIO and I will be honest aside from southern fare - we have yet to find good repeatable options for ethnic foods of all sorts; non NY style pizza; wings and vegan or vegetarian options. BUT after dining at the Thai House of Lake Norman we can finally say we found our go to Thai Spot. The restaurant is clean, well appointed with plenty of parking in the lovely little town of Cornelius a hop skip and a jump for our Huntersville residence. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We both ordered the traditional Shrimp Pad Thai and it was DELICIOUS! I ordered a spice level of 2 and it was just right for me - the hubster went up to a 3 spice level and enjoy his level of kick as well. We had no less than 8-9 large shrimps that I actually cut in half they were so big to offer a bit of shrimp with just about every bite. The noodles were cooked perfectly and it had just the right amount of sweet. Lots of peanuts just as I like. We ordered spring rolls and man were they HUGE and the peanut sauce was finger-linger good. This place is close enough that we can order carryout, dine in or Dashboard our way to meeting our Thai tastebuds. I have been missing from Yelp! for quite a while. Due to this Coronavirus disaster, my Grubbing Buddy and I have missed out on our favorite pastime, dining out. Creating our own dishes, as seen on Pinterest, has become our new Grubbing treat; however, this past Halloween, my buddy and I decided to visit friends and family near Charlotte, NC. I had a taste for some Thai, and we were told the favorite Asian restaurant in the area was a place called the Thai House. We didn't go and dine in, but we did order some delivery. Our first time trying Thai House, and it was delicious. We had Take Out and it was prompt and hot. The portions were quite large: Spring Rolls (4 come to an order), #62 Pad Thai (with chicken and not spicy), #64 Tom Yum Noodle. It was great to have so many options per item, i.e.: chicken, seafood, beef, pork, vegetarian or no meat. You also get to pick how spicy you want it. It's a beautiful restaurant and so neat and clean. The person who greeted me was so nice and appreciative. There are a lot of great businesses in this area, so stop for a beer at Lost Worlds, and take out food from Thai House, you won't be disappointed. We actually have enough food for another dinner. The Thai House is located in one of the many strip malls of Cornelius. It's a small space, but they use it well. The interior features many wood carvings and plenty of plants. We loved the atmosphere, with just a touch of elegance. I ordered the Rice Soup but what came was an amalgamation of that and the Thai House Soup: Chopped Chicken, veggies and herbs and clear noodles. The broth was deeply flavored and delicious, the chicken was perfectly cooked but the noodles were not my favorite. I'd like to try the Rice Soup, because with rice, that soup would have been perfect. My son got the Tom Kha soup, which he normally loves, but this time he said was heavy on the lime making it a tad bitter. I mixed a little in my soup and it made it perfect! For my meal I ordered the Chicken Satay, which was served with a peanut sauce and a fresh cucumber salad. You get 4 sticks full of coconut milk and curry marinated chicken tenderloins. They were so good! The small cuke salad was refreshing and cool and the peanut sauce was sweet with a nuttiness. All worked great together. The kids got Thai Sweet and Sour Chicken, and seriously that is some of the best we've ever had. The chicken was crispy, but not too oily. The sweet and sour sauce isn't cloyingly sweet, but perfect. The veggies also keep the dish from getting too monotonous. Both were served with Jasmine Rice, and it was somewhat sticky...our favorite! They ate nearly all of it! For dessert we enjoyed glasses of Thai Tea. The tea is a distinctive thick and concentrated tea full of robust flavor which they top with sweetened cream. It's divine when mixed. Service was excellent, we were well taken care of. They do a brisk take out business too, and we saw Grub Hub drivers coming in frequently for pick ups. This is some of the best Thai food I've eaten. Amazing Thai food. We were so hungry when we got here I forgot to take pics of our appetizers. I'd recommend the fried spring rolls, pot stickers and chicken satay. The serving size was plenty for a starter dish. We had a party of five and this was satisfying. I had the signature Pad Thai with chicken. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the spices were exactly the level I asked for. It's hard to give a number when the meaning of "3" could mean something different to everyone. They were spot on after I explained my meaning of "3". The portions were fair and I have lunch for tomorrow! Other members of our party had Yellow Curry with Chicken. My son gets this same dish all the time so when he rates a fish's a five and leaves not a single piece of rice on the dish you know it was good. Hubbie got the Beef Broccoli and he added more spices to his dish. They were kind enough to put a small tray of added "heat" options if you so desired. We were visiting from out of town, so I can't compare this restaurant to other Thai restaurants in the area. I enjoyed the eggplant with beef and Thai tea. I think I would have enjoyed the curry more if I asked for level 1 spice. I asked for the spices on the side, but they weren't able to accommodate. I thought I would be able to enjoy the curry, but level 2 ended up being too spicy for me. I felt like the drunken noodles (can't remember what it was called on the menu), pad Thai, and fried fish could have been seasoned better.
