I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!!! What a hidden gem. We walked in for a quick bite, not expecting much, but we were blown away with the meal. The service was very very quick and the staff were incredibly kind, and the atmosphere was lively but not too crowded. We ordered the pad Thai, which was very saucy and seasoned beautifully, with perfectly cooked shrimp. We also got the Thai Royal Chicken which was crispy yet juicy, and the sauce complemented the rice perfectly. AND the dishes came with egg drop soup! We were so satisfied, and the best part was, it was so affordable ($11.75 per dish). 10/10, definitely worth a try! read more

I went in with high expectations for this place, but unfortunately, it was a big letdown. Food - 1/5 The food felt very Americanized, like it relied heavily on pre-packaged or bottled sauces rather than fresh flavors. It lacked soul and that authentic Thai touch. The house noodles were pale and bland, with shrimp that added little to no flavor. The Bangkok chicken was overly sweet and tasted like it came straight from a bottle. The fish with chili was also strange--several dishes had lettuce mixed in, which felt out of place and didn't work with the flavors. Overall, it's hard to describe the taste, but it reminded me of a slightly better version of P.F. Chang's rather than real Thai cuisine and it's not even the same cuisine. That's the best thing I can compare it to. Service - 4/5 The staff was friendly, and my pickup order was quick and efficient. One downside was that I wasn't asked about spice level when ordering. I didn't even know they used a 1-5 scale until I overheard another customer's order, which was disappointing. Overall I wouldn't return. We decided to stop here for lunch! They have their own parking, so parking was easy. We were greeted immediately as we walked in and seated not to long after. We dined in on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty empty, probably about 3 other patrons besides us. Which, was nice because the dining area is pretty small. Everything seemed clean and the decor is very minimal. Our server was very nice and accommodating! She kept our drinks refilled without us having to ask. Brought our food out right away, made us aware of timing expectations on certain items we ordered. Very polite! I ordered the thai emerald fried rice and added chicken. 10/10 - Honestly it looked bland, but was packed with flavor! This was considered a lunch meal so it came with soup and a spring roll, which was nice! Also, placed an order for wings also a solid 10/10. The wings were fresh and super tasty! I ordered the Bangkok chicken as I noticed that was a fan favorite. 5/10 - Honestly, I didn't really care for this dish. This is purely a food review as we got takeout. Ordered two pad Thai, a yellow curry dish, and spring rolls. Total was ~$65. We were so disappointed to find that the pad Thai was super dry and one we ordered 4 on a spicy scale which was expected to be spicy, the other we asked for NO spice and it came ALMOST as spicy as the 4... and there was no way I could eat it. Now, I know that some spice is expected in Thai food, I've had it hundreds of times, but this was like they made them together to be cheap and easy without caring that mine shouldn't have a had any added spice to it. Thai Emerald should be ashamed of themselves for their horrible customer service and inability to manage time. I called and placed a togo order several hours in advance. I stated I needed to pick the order up at 7pm. I called 30 minutes before picking up the order and was told the order needed 10/15 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes after the time I stated I needed the order and was informed the order wasn't ready and that they had gotten busy. When asked how much longer no one was able to give me an answer. I needed to be somewhere by 7:30 and was already running behind. Since they weren't able to give me an exact time I had to cancel the order. There should be no reason why the order wasn't ready and I wasn't provided any kind of explanation. This is my friend's favorite Thai restaurant and I hate that I had such a bad experience. The location is convenient to the Birkdale area. Everything you can imagine regarding Thai food! I got the pad Thai, and it had a ton of flavor. I got a three, and I began asking for a four and the server talked me out of it! I can handle spicy, but the three definitely had some kick! Super friendly servers, and quick service. I had been walking right past this place for years when getting Subway. I never entered because the outside of it is very dark. You can't see inside at all unless you press your face up against the window. I didn't do that because it would be weird if someone was eating their soup on the other side of the window. I entered with my son, not knowing what to expect. I was a little excited because it was going to be my first Thai experience (not just for food). As as far as the food goes, they gave us some kind of complementary soup, but it wasn't really for us. We called it Mush Soup. Then we ordered Sesame Chicken with carrots and white rice. Solid performance. I ate my whole plate and half of my son's plate. The service was fast and friendly and the place is impeccably clean. Grabbed some yummy food here for a party of 1! The Yelp International Supper Club had a virtual Thai Food Night so I decided to mix it up and try a new spot. Thai Emerald did great with the COVID-19 restrictions. They took my credit card from my car and when they brought it back it was wrapped in a sanitary towel. They put the bag of food on my front seat and I was on my way. Lettuce wraps were perfect and came with plenty of lettuce and crunchiest. The Satay Skewers were also really good and came with a peanut sauce. Last was my Laarb Salad. It was good, but I'm not sure the minced texture is for me. Lunch specials can be had, on two visits was served chicken soup with egg noodles and spring roll (not gluten friendly) Third visit was given egg drop soup that actually had flavor. Favorite here is the green curry with the panang veggies. Yes it can be swapped without the server flinching. Don't judge. The substitution was a good choice. Straw mushrooms, peas carrts baby corn and basil mixed with green curry was creamy and a medium heat level. So good. Lunch prices are in the $8-10 range. Every time I come in here, I'm greeted with a smile and immediately sat. The wait staff is super friendly and always smiling. When I walked in today, I heard of the servers greet a guest by name.
