My fella and I are road tripping and he found this place on Yelp and the great reviews so we veered off the highway to check it out. It looks like a little hole in the wall so don't let that deter - we've found the best and most authentic gems from the most unassuming places! Rachel was our server and she was a sweetheart - warm and genuine. The food was really fairly priced - you get a lot for what you pay for and the real kicker, it is also excellent Thai food!!!- My fella got the Panang Curry and at spice level 3 ... it was one of the better Panangs we have tasted in our experience and yup the spice was perfect (the level is up there!) I got the Pad See Ew (Rachel's favorite) spice level 2 and it was really yummy! The dark sweet soy sauce is the most important ingredient in Pad See Ew and they did it right! Happy tummies - we inhaled our dinners. We are coming from MD/DC and yankees just don't do sweet tea right so I was a happy girl seeing real Southern Sweet Tea on the menu - Rachel set us up good with a togo cup of Sweet Tea with a splash of lemonade for the road. My husband and I just ate dinner here. The service was excellent and the facility is very pleasant. The food was fabulous. I had the coconut soup. My husband had basil shrimp. We also had fresh rolls... Everything was really very, very tasty and fresh and we look forward to going back again. Avoid Thai House like the plague! The service is a masterclass in neglect. I called 30 minutes ahead for takeout on a Wednesday late afternoon, thinking I'd save some time. Little did I know, I was signing up for a crash course in patience once I arrived to pick up. After waiting for what felt like a geological era, I finally got a waitress to greet me to grab my take-out order. She told me that my 2 entree and appetizer order was not ready and worst, not even prepared. No remorse or apologies, felt more like a "Haha, we got you!". After confirming I still wanted the order I placed, she casually walked to the back to get the orders in and after waiting another 20 minutes, I was finally able to leave with some food. And as if the service and wait time weren't bad enough, the food was the grand finale of disappointment. I don't know what was more undercooked - the chicken or my enthusiasm for ever returning. The veggies were limp, the noodles were mushy, and the flavors were as dull as dishwater. They've managed to turn Thai cuisine into a culinary nightmare. Be prepared to age a decade waiting. And when the food finally arrives, it's a gamble between undercooked chicken and veggies that look like they've seen better days. Save your taste buds and your sanity - eat anywhere else but here. We just happened to stop for lunch while traveling on I-95. The food was deliscious and the service was excellent. We had the fresh rolls to start. Hubby had a noodle dish which included sweet soy sauce and shrimp which he said was amazing. Can't remember the name. I had the Tom kha Gai (coconut soup) which was delish and hit the spot on a chilly day. I can also tell you that this restaurant offers authentic Thai cuisine. We've travelled to Thailand and the dishes we had took me back to Bangkok. Definitely try this place out. It's clean and airy and the wait staff are very welcoming and helpful with answering menu questions. Can't wait to return. I'm craving more soup now read more

Very laid back atmosphere and the staff was friendly and efficient. Our order was taken very quickly and came out just as fast. Had appetizers: spicy shrimp and the spring rolls. Both were very good. I ordered the Pho 'Bo and my wife ordered the Pad see eww with chicken. Food was good, hot and very tasty. Bottom line...if you're looking for some Thai/Vietnamese cuisine, try this place. Very tasty food and a friendly staff. Everyone wore a mask and masks were required to go in to order or pick up your food. Only one person at a time was allowed in to pick up or give an order.There is Take out only but they have a covered patio where you can bring your food to eat. Full of fresh veggies and good flavor. Husband ordered the ginger chicken and loved it. It is way better than any fast food you're gonna find off of I-95 (and is genuinely better than all of the Thai restaurants near our home). Excellent food and a welcome respite from the chain foods and fast food along the I95! This small restaurant in a gas station strip mall doesn't look like much from the outside, but it offers a delicious array of Asian food: Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and even some Korean. I had the lunch special with ginger chicken, teriyaki salmon, sushi, salad and fried rice. Generous portions and delicate but distinct flavors. My husband had a seafood soup where he could adjust the spiciness from a level 1 to 10. The Thai fried rice is excellent and my son enjoyed his beef pho, although he said the ingredients weren't entirely authentic (no bean sprouts, cabbage and onions instead). The owner is delightful. He is chatty, but not annoyingly so. He made sure we had everything we needed and I heard him walk other diners through the menu offerings, making suggestions where appropriate. read more

I had to really convince my wife to drive through the gas station parking lot to try this place, and I am glad I did. I usually hate the "Thai Sushi" concept but here the Japanese side is pretty legit. My wife got a bento box dinner and I had the yellow curry. Both were very flavorful. The owner here also works his tail off giving attentive service to all customers, answering the phone, running the register. I am sure he could stand to hire more help but for the extremely reasonable prices here I am willing to wait some. read more

Decent Thai food for South Carolina, but not fantastic. Lots of veggies in 2 curry dishes but the chicken was very skimpy. Seemed like they were trying to skimp on chicken and fill in with vegetables. For 2 of us we'd have been hungry with just 2 curry dishes. Sushi was surprisingly good. I'm tempted to give an extra star just because this is in Santee, SC off 95. But generally this place would not last back home in the DC area. read more

Earlier this month I was in Santee, South Carolina on a business trip. I decided to try something a little bit different. South Carolina is known for its BBQ, southern cooking and Calabash seafood, which seafood but everything is fried. The restaurant was surprisingly large with a big outdoor seating area and a private parking lot. I was greeted and seated immediately. The decor was rather interesting and could seat up to 30 people. The waitress was very nice and friendly as was the rest of the staff. I ordered chicken satay, Pad Prik King with pork as a dinner special which comes with spring roll & a salad. I also ordered a Thai iced. The salad and spring roll was good but the chicken satay was just OK. Thai iced tea was good, not too sweet. The Pad Prik King with pork was good. Overall food was OK for Thai cuisine. Not the best that I ever had but good. The owner came and talked to me. He told me that they are originally from Los Angeles and have been here for several years. His whole family works at the restaurant: his wife, son & daughter. He asked about me and why I was in the area. We had a really nice dialogue. A very nice man. Overall I had good experience. I will definitely stop by if I am ever in the area. read more

Yes, this place is off I-95, exit 98 at Santee attached to the Mobil gas station. Most may be afraid to give a restaurant at such a location a chance, no judgement -- I only found it by word of mouth. Sam is the delightful owner who will welcome you with jokes and a smile to enjoy authentic thai cuisine in his family's establishment. He very proudly displays an endorsement banner from Trip Advisor! The fresh basil rolls have both pork and shrimp and are served with a delicious peanut sauce concoction. The green curry has fresh veggies including bell peppers, eggplant, and squash, and the spice level can be customized 1 to 10...5 was just about perfect for the average customer (personally I added a little thai chili oil for additional spice since I was sharing, 7 would be right for me!) I loveeeeee Asian Cuisine and I probably can eat it everyday! However, this was just OKAY. The rice was loaded with veggies which I really appreciated. However, the rice tasted slightly burnt and I just could not get with it. The wings were seasoned well but also had that burned flavor. I can sum this place up in one word, fantastic. The pictures on Yelp look good, but trust me to better than good. There was about a 5-10 min wait, in which we almost left because we were starving, but I'm glad we didn't. Once we sat down I had a beer within 2 minutes and we were enjoying our meal within 10 more minutes. It was fast, fresh and piping hot. We eat Thai pretty much every week and are very picky, this place exceeded our expectations. The pad Thai and the drunken noodles were some of the best we have ever had. The crab Angels were also some of the best crab rangoons we have ever had, as well as the wings. My 5 year old son, believe it or not, is a sushi aficionado and ate his whole plate of sushi as well as 6 crab angels. The chicken in both the pad Thai and drunken noodles was not like the typical, it was tender, flavorful and you could tell it was real fresh white meat chicken, not that frozen stuff a lot of other places use. Family owned, the owner was extremely friendly and my son loved the gadgets he had on the counter that took your quarters lol. Overall a fantastic Thai place! So this is my second review, my first review was 1 star. The food was better this time but it was very salty!! I ask for extra sauce on my Mongolian beef and they charged me $1.00...lol...that is a first. I also ask for hot number 7 it came out as maybe a 3. When he brought the meal he also brought Sriracha does he know this is not thai hot sauce? That was a first! I am a flight attendant so I have had thai food all over the world. On our drive south to Florida, we stayed overnight in Santee. Based on the favorable Yelp reviews, we picked up dinner at Thai House. We weren't disappointed! We had chicken pad Thai and chicken drunken noodles. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. The inside dining was closed because of Covid and a limited staff, but there is an outside terrace with seating available. We were happy just to take the meal to our nearby hotel - the Fairfield Inn. Portions were substantial, and we stored the leftovers in the mini-fridge, taking it with us the following day for dinner when we got home. If we're back in Santee, we'll be happy to go to Thai House again! read more

Great food. We had no sushi as we were somewhat intimidated bysmall size and volume of sushi sold. All of the food we ordered was amazingly good. Nine out of 10 spiciness ordered however translated to about five out of 10 or six out of 10 for me. Obviously this is a personal issue only. Flavor freshness and tastiness of everything was superb. Very small venue. Seems to be family owned and run restaurant. Anytime I'm in the area I will clearly make an effort to be here again for dinner. read more
