This location is in an old building. However I am soooo glad I gave it a try. The inside is BEAUTIFUL. The staff is friendly and the food is amazing. We stayed overnight at the hotel across the street. I came to dinner with my wife and infant. The food was delicious. The entire staff was so kind and warm. I couldn't believe the hospitality. They all made us feel so welcome even though we stayed from 7:30 till close. I would 100% recommend to visit this restaurant if you are in Santee! read more

We read all the reviews and were so looking forward to the food! But we had just come from a 12 hour drive and I really wanted a glass of wine and my husband wanted a beer. It does say they have beer and wine in the points about the restaurant. After we were seated I asked for wine and we were told they no longer have their liquor license! We were so disappointed! Deliciousness! Stopped in Santee for the night. We were tired and hungry. The agent at the front desk of the hotel pointed it out as the little green building out front. We were skeptical, is there really good Thai food in SC less than 1 mile from I-95? And yeah there really is. We eat Thai a lot and this was spot on. The owners are so friendly and caring. Everyone was working together. Service was great. We had a variety of items and each one was super. From the soup to entree and miscellaneous share items everything was top notch. Met some great people. We had some awesome food. Still no dine in but you can seat on the outside tables will back.

When we came they were doing takeout only, but since we were staying at the hotel literally just next door it wasn't a big deal. The patio was still open for people who wanted to eat there too. Food was very good and of a good price for the quantity. I think my only complaint would be that it was less spicy than I expected, but that's more on me for being conservative with my order (On a scale of 3 to 10 I asked for a 5). The man who took our order was nice enough... and things went downhill quickly from there. As our eyes adjusted to the dim lights inside, we realized the dirt on the floor, and spotted the dust stalactites clinging to the ceiling fan. If we had just spotted the mouse droppings on the restroom sink at that point, we'd of immediately left, but that realization came too late. The dumplings came out promptly, and tasted pretty good. The soy sauce, however was micro-dosed from the serving dish with a tiny plastic taster, like they use at an ice cream store. It was a bit odd to need 4-5 dips to get together about 1/8 teaspoon. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. It was heavy on carrots and onions, light on peanuts, green onion and was oily. The chicken had good flavor, but the rest of the dish was a disappointment. We also ordered spicy basil chicken. Again the chicken was ok, but the dish was bland, even when additional house spice mix was added. The Thai iced coffee was hard to drink (a splash of coffee in a tall pint glass full of coconut milk). The friendly waiter came back with a to-go cup, recognizing that it was only an inch down from the brim by the end of our meal. This place is one food safety inspector's visit away from being shuttered. The two entree lunch with an appetizer, the iced coffee and a soda was about $40... well above what was warranted. read more

Yelp has never failed when in search of a better than average eating experience. First I am grateful to the South Carolinians that Yelped this little jewel. The exterior of the place is very misleading and one must simply ignore it. Step inside and you will appreciate a clean and smartly decorated establishment. Our table was very odd. The legs were on the corners but one side of the table's seating was a booth bench. This required climbing into my seat. I was amused. It was 6 PM Thursday night and every one of the dozen or so tables were occupied. We were lucky for no wait. We could hear locals talking between tables about their drive to the restaurant. A local road was under construction a created some detours. Clearly this place is a local's favorite. Surprising that rural So. Carolinians like Thai food. Wife ordered grilled shrimp on protein noodles. I ordered crispy fried flounder on green curried protein noodles. Both dishes included veggies cooked to perfection. Wife and I shared a bowl of wonton soup. It was all extremely delicious and full of flavor. We noticed no salt and pepper shakers on the table. None needed. Seasoned to perfection! Stopped here while passing through town with family. The food here was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. As others mentioned it is a little place and you would drive right by it if you did not know where it was. We really enjoyed our meal. A little disappointed that they were not serving sushi the night we were there but we ordered extra appetizers instead. Glad we did the steam dumplings, fresh garden spring rolls, crab stars and the egg rolls were outstanding. Thai spicy cashew chicken was great, served with Jasmine rice which was tasty. Noodle soup bowls were tasty and huge. Highly recommend you give this place a try if you are in the area. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way up to Maryland. I'm picky about Thai food and I can say that the pad see ew was delicious for its location. Food isn't spicy unless you ask for their fresh "Spicey cat" which is homemade chili pepper powder. I recommend this place if you're ever in Santee, SC. read more

A secret hole in the wall next to a nail place and Hampton Inn. My husband ordered the sweet and sour flounder- excellent. I have decided that I should give up meat as the last three meals I ordered in various restaurants have been disappointing. I think I just do not like Meat anymore. The duck I had was unimportant in the dish to me but the fried rice and mixed vegetables were delicious. Even the white rice was good. Also had spring rolls to start- crispy and came steaming hot. Great Thai Food! This is a great little family run business! The food is very good! The Pad Thai is good as well as the Panang curry chicken! It's one of those strip mall places next to a gas station~ It has seating for around 20 people- The proprietors are very nice, the teenage kids (usually doing their homework at a back table) act as servers - and you can hear mom and dad in the background cooking and yip yappin :) You can't go wrong ordering up some take out from here if your in the neighborhood! read more

I have driven by this place hundreds of times on my way to and from church and my children's school. The little strip mall it's located in is sort of dingy and it's connected to a convenience store/gas station. A family member kept posting check-ins here so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. The restaurant is small with maybe a dozen tables, but the food is excellent. It is a family owned business that uses ingredients grown at their own farm. The sushi was fresh and the servings were generous. I'm sure this will now be a regular stop on our way through town. read more

Fast. Friendly. Delicious. Well priced. This place is a gem. We stopped in on trip from DC and were swept away by the proprietor's gentle kindness and sweet, humble sense of humor. Sam, moved here from LA in the 00's. In LA he ran an enormous restaurant and a bar. In Santee, he decided to keep it simple. This place is small and has some rough edges. But the steady flow of folk of all sorts let's you know this place is treasured. The volcano flounder was perfectly fried and had a subtle complexity of lemongrass and herbs that beat out any comparable dish I've had anywhere. The green curry had perfectly fried tofu. Ohhhhh my goodness this is a Santee treasure!!!! Sushi is amazing!!! We could have eaten two rolls and fed 3 people with it. These are not the small rolls with a minimal amount of meat. These are huge rolls reasonably priced. read more

Stopped by on 30 Oct 2021 on a 3 day trip from Boston to Miami. Food here was fantastic - very surprising as I didn't expect this quality Thai food in South Carolina. We totally passed this place by because it is in an old strip mall with gas station. It is an old building but we knew when we saw the cars,it was going to be ok. The place was super busy. We were greeted and seated quickly. We did a meal choice of apps and entree. I had spicy cashew shrimp with 5 heat. It was not spicy enough but the veggies were crisp and fresh. It was a large dish and flavorful. I enjoyed the spicy roll for my app and watched the chef make it with close seating. Our beverages were always filled and we were checked on by several of the staff. They were super friendly! I asked for chopsticks and was given a nice wooden set, not disposable. Loved that! If you're traveling on I95 in this area this small unassuming Thai restaurant is worth a stop. The service is friendly although it can be slow when busy, and the food is authentic and always very good. On our last trip we had spring rolls, blackened noodles, General Tso chicken and a variety of soups. All were well prepared, spiced just right and fresh tasting. The restaurant is very small and sits in a tiny strip mall, but don't let that put you off from visiting them. You'll be pleased that you gave it a shot. read more
