Restaurant is fun. Lots of bright colored lights, a selfie bench, and music is noticeable but not overpowering. The fare is a mix of Vietnamese and Thai. Appetizers are good and come out quickly. For two people, I'd opt for more than a single appetizer if you are peckish. I had a tofu eggplant dish they said was spicy and it WAS. So believe them when you see the chili pepper on the menu. Service was fine; not lightning quick nor did I feel ignored. Parking is shared with other stores in a private lot so not a concern at all. The soups were quite tasty and the vegetables were all bright and appetizing. I'd go back again happily, but not as a group. A Clean, Cozy Restaurant With Great Food Myself and my husband have really enjoyed our experiences at Pho Bowl. The food is delicious, and the restaurant has a lovely, cozy atmosphere that makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal. The wait staff are always very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant feels very clean including the bathrooms, which I always appreciate. My favorites are the green Thai curry, the matcha bubble tea, and the Thai iced tea. Everything I've tried has been flavorful and well made. This is a very cute modern looking establishment. It's a little small for large groups, we went today with about 10 and they were able to accommodate us, but it was a little tight. They have jazz playing in the background. I could see it being a cute place to go for a romantic date or a small family dinner. Their prices are fairly reasonable. I didn't want to spend a lot today so I went for one of the less expensive dishes. It was a chicken soup with green onions, toasted garlic and glass noodles. It's a smaller bowl than the pho but still reasonably sized. It's not super filling but very nice flavor. I also ordered the hot flower tea. It took a little while for the tea to steep and it wasn't very strong tea but a beautiful experience. They were not overly busy, but I think the size of our group was a bit much for them to handle today. They took our orders quickly and the food started coming pretty quickly but there were several mixups with the food being given to the wrong ones in our group. I would like to come back when I have more funds because I felt like I spent $20 for two types of hot flavored water. When I first walked in I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very clean, modern, and decorated tastefully to keep with modern style. The jazz music made for nice entertainment. Although it was not busy it did take awhile to get served, that is my only complaint. We were one of 2 tables occupied. The food was absolutely delicious. I got the beef pho and it was extremely flavorful and spicy. 5/5 I loved the topping options and the presentation was also so nice. This is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Charleston. I love the aesthetic of the restaurant it feels like a hidden gem in the neighborhood. The prices are a bit high for me (I usually compare prices to nyc standards), but most of the non fast food Asian food places have a higher price point. I love to get the house special rice because it reminds me of the grilled pork chop I usually get in nyc, but instead, they chop up the pork chop into pieces for you here. They also give you an egg as well as shrimp and lettuce with tomatoes. I drench the sauce they give all over the dish before I eat and add a bit of hot sauce as well. The family and have been here a few times. Small and cute restaurant that is very good. I'm not a big fan of the Pho Bowl , but my husband and daughter love it, especially the beef. I usually get the house special which includes 5 large shrimp, bbq pork, white rice, side salad, and one fried egg on top of the rice. The sauce that comes with the dish is really good. It's sweet, a little tangy, and a little kick to it. I usually dip my salad in the sauce. The pho bowl are big enough to share with another person. Amazing food, service and cleanliness! The restaurant is so well done inside as far as decor but also because of how clean the restaurant is, as well as the bathrooms. I haven't been in this nice of an establishment in all of Charleston. We were very well taken care of. The service was super quick and the food was insanely delicious. The wife and I split the Duck Clay Pot with Crispy Duck on a wonderful bed of Garlic Fried Rice was good but getting it to go it was obviously not as pretty as pictured. The wife loved this dish, but I thought it could have used a bit more of the House Special Sauce We split an order of Fresh Basil Tofu Roll. This was your typical fresh roll, however one was wrapped perfectly tight while the other was split open before it reached my plate. Both the Pho Nam (Beef briskets), that I ordered and the Pho Vegetable the wife order was excellent. The broth for both was super deep and rich. The wife thought her vegetables were the perfect texture, not so tough like other places that she could not chew, and not mushy either. Was craving some pho and decided to try out this newer place my friend recommended. It's in a strip among other pretty good restaurants that I've tried. Looking at the menu there were a lot of good options and they had some other items that weren't Vietnamese but looked intriguing. I decided to go with a classic Pho Nam . It was flank and brisket which I love! The broth was very good and flavorful and it was a big portion! I thought overall it was really good for the price. Visited on December 2nd around 7:30 PM. My friend and I had never tried pho before, so we ordered one bowl just to see what the hype was about. That one bowl exceeded my expectations. The flavor was so good we immediately wished we had ordered two. We were headed to go bowling afterward, so we kept it light...but trust me, we could have easily finished another. The place is spotless, modern, and has a really comfortable vibe. It is a bit pricey, and if it were just a little cheaper, I'd probably be in there every other day. I've been to Pho Bowl more times than I care to admit, its hard not to support a restaurant that is always producing a quality product at a good price. Thankfully the originally chairs the restaurant had were replaced, i always felt they were going to dump me on the floor. The new chairs are much more comfortable and provide the stable seating needed so you can focus on the delicious bowl of Pho. Fresh ingredients are always used, the bowls always come out steaming hot, staff has always been friendly and service quick even when the restaurant is standing room only. This is the second time I have tried a Vietnamese restaurant. This restored my faith in it. The broth was amazingly good! It was a big serving so I was not able to eat it all. But I did take it to work the next day, and it's even better on day two! It looks to be family owned, and the servers were nice. Made sure we had enough of what we needed. After finishing a doctors appointment, we placed a to-go order online so we could get some pho to take home. My friend is on a lot of liquids so we've been finding all the soups lately. I tried the chicken and added meatballs (which I know doesn't go together but I love the meatballs). I ordered some dumplings and crispy spring rolls which were both good, but I wish the dumplings came with a soy based sauce instead of a sweet. We also ordered some sides of pho broth because my friend has been keeping it in the fridge. They were only two bucks so I thought they were a deal since I got one elsewhere for $6. I figured for $2 they would be a smaller container but they were super small. The $6 option was actually a better deal. My order was ready and prepaid so I was in and out in no time. Of course this may have something to do with the fact that I'm from Vietnam lol, so naturally my expectations are pretty high to begin with. I'm pleased to say that I was not disappointed. The small space was clean but still warm and inviting. Although it quiet, the aromas and sounds of pots clinking made you feel as though you were home. The customer service was super friendly, the lady who took my order had a way of making me feel as though we've known each other for years. I ordered the famous Vietnamese Pho and the Bun Thit Nuong with a pork spring roll added. Everything was cooked to perfection, seasoned well and the portions were pretty big. My only critique would be how the noodle to sauce ratio could be better, other than that, my overall experience was a 9/10 and I highly recommend Pho Bowl to anyone looking for some authentic Vietnamese cuisine. This WAS one of our favorite pho spots but this night we didn't like the service at all! All I ordered was 2 appetizers because I don't eat much and Sean ordered a soup and a pho bowl. This white couple came in after us and sat at the table next to us. The waitress brought my food out took my husband's order and we waited. He was literally sitting watching me eat. 45 min goes by I'm done eating belly is full and the waitress comes out finally with his food. So we thought! She brought the couple who came in AFTER us their food. My husband raised his hand to get the attention of the waitress because up to now she hasn't checked in on us or even told us the food will be out shortly. She saw his hand up and said "one moment." She then walked to the register and began putting in another patron's order. After that she STILL didn't make her way over to see what my husband wanted, instead she goes into the kitchen. Next thing you know another server is in her way with my husband's food. He politely and respectfully told her she can cancel his order and requested the check. The initial waitress FINALLY makes her way back over to us, reached OVER my husband to get the attention of the couple next to us to ask if they needed anything. THEN she looks at my husband and asked him how can she help him. He asked for the check again. There was no apology, no explanation, NOTHING!!! Needless to say we paid for my 2 appetizers 2 drinks and left. We will NOT be spending our hard earned money ed money with Pho Bowl again. read more
