I just wanted to update my previous review to say that I went back to Thai Khao Kaeng Express and Pizzeria again, and again, and AGAIN! TBH, it was due to some of the amazing photos you all took on here, so THANK YOU for that!! Absolutely nowhere I have been to does Thai food like this place, and the for the extremists such as myself; Thai Spicy! This place has got to be the best in Utah for a lot of different reasons. Their attention to detail, spiciness, and fresh food is what keeps me coming back again and again! Very addictive. If you are on the curious side but don't want to spend a fortune, I highly recommend their lunch special: Any Two Entrees Lunch which comes with a medium (20 oz) beverage of your choice, an egg roll or a cheese wonton, and your choice of different Curry's and Stir Fry's. I always mix & match and pick one curry and one stir fry to try out the flavors. Curry and Stir Fry comes with your choice of protein: chicken, pork, or beef (for a small additional fee). So far I've tried the Red Curry, Green Curry, Pineapple Curry, and Panang Curry. In regards to the Stir Fry's, I've tried the Black Pepper (OMG...ask for Thai Spicy if you can handle it...Sooo delicious)! Thai Basil Stir Fry and Cashew Nut Stir Fry are equally as good. The Sweet & Sour Stir Fry definitely has a different sauce taste compared to other establishments. Not necessarily my fave, but there really isn't one dish that you can go wrong with. I've also tried their Beef Salad which was abundant in both fresh vegetables and beef. You also can request your spice level on the dressing...so of course I went with the spiciest that they could make and it was fabulous! It also includes a side of white rice. I'm beyond impressed with this restaurant and wish that I lived closer to it. I'd be there everyday (they are closed on Sunday). I can't recommend them enough and I sincerely thank the owners for always doing the best they can to meet my extremely high spice level. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! read more

Who could resist trying a place that has Thai food AND pizza? I love Thai food and I like pizza, so the thought of ordering a Thai pizza was really intriguing. After looking at their rating, we had to try it. We ordered the Thai Pizza , Tom Yum Kai, and Pad Thai. The server brought the condiments which included Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, Sriracha, Hoisin Sauce, and chili oil. What a combo! What a nice surprise! Who would've thought that curry and pizza would go together? Pad Thai was really good. Lots of flavor and very fresh ingredients. Tom Yum Kai has just the right amount of spice and was incredibly flavorful. You can taste the lemongrass and a hint of fish sauce. We also ordered the chicken satay. Everything went fantastic!! From the owner (May) to the waitresses and one young lady who seemed to be everywhere, her name is Samantha and she is extremely nice and she makes sure that the customer comes first! The pizza at this Thai restaurant is excellent! For some reason, I've thought that this combination of pizza and Thai food was a little strange. But they've really made it work, If a person is looking for some very tasty Thai food, this restaurant doesn't disappoint!! There is plenty of tables and booths for you to choose! Because there was more hit than miss. --- --- --- My friend mentioned that the best pizza he'd eaten in Utah came from a Thai place, which is definitely not a sentence I ever expected to hear, or just be said in general. I didn't need to hear much else to know that we needed to go there. First, I ordered a watermelon drink, and that was delicious. 5-stars. Then, came the food. He ordered the pizza, and was it some of the better pizza I've ever had? Definitely not. But I did enjoy it. As soon as I took my first bite, my initial thought was that it reminded me of Chuck E. Cheese pizza, but I don't mean that negatively. I used to work next to a Chuck E. Cheese and would often order my lunch from there. I don't know how the nostalgia was strong enough to immediately remember the taste of pizza I used to eat in 2001, but it was very intense. 3.5-stars. I ordered the drunken noodles, which are hard to rate on the whole. The noodles were 4.5-stars: almost as good as they get. But the beef that I added was truly awful. 1.5 stars. It was like dried up beef jerkey that wasn't cooked with the rest of the dish. Overall, I'd go 3.5-stars here and highly recommend trying an alternate protein for anyone reading this. At the end, I ordered a taro + coconut boba smoothie and just like the watermelon drink, it was unbelievable. 5-stars. The math brings that to 4-stars. And that's about what I was thinking before I started doing all of the long division required to come to that conclusion. read more

Amazing food and service. What a cool eclectic place! We got the Yellow curry chicken pizza, pineapple shrimp fried rice, freah spring rolls, and kid's pho. All of it was delicious! My wife is gluten-free, and they were able to accommodate with tamari instead of regular soy, and their kitchen staff was actually really knowledgeable about their ingredients and allergens. Casual, seat yourself when you walk in. Samantha was our server and so nice and fast. Started with the chicken satay, tender chicken with a touch of ginger, acid and soy. Very good with its warm peanut sauce on side. Egg drop soup with peas and carrots with black pepper. This soup was amazing. This is now what I think of for helping when feeling sick and wanting comfort food (also bought a to go container of this) Cashew chicken with veggies and sauce. Think brown sugar maybe and soy with chicken so tender with fresh, crisp veggies too. Two entree meal with veggie and broccoli chicken stir fry - med heat. I am so disappointed. The server changed my writing to give themselves a bigger tip. When I called about it, the owner didn't seem surprised or upset. Did not offer any solution to the real problem (the theft) but instead offered to refund it to keep me quite and coming back. I was really looking forward to trying this place based off of the reviews and tragically it did not live up to its high rating. We ordered shrimp tempura, gyoza, pizza, stir fry, and a glass noddle dish. All of it was almost inedible. The appetizers were frozen Costco items they just heated up. The pizza was not cooked and the cheese reminded me of the cheese Chuck E Cheese uses. The Thai dishes themselves tasted old, and had very uniquely bad flavors. I figured it might be a weird experience when the place advertises itself as a pizzeria and Thai place you'd figured they'd do at least one good but I hate to tell you they failed on all levels. Now I will say, I have NEVER ordered Thai food here before. My go to order is a bunch of egg rolls and get a large pepperoni pizza. They have some of the best pizza. The Cheese and sauce and crust combo is awesome. Toppings are limited and stock in that og pizza place type way. But this for value and price and what the finished product is. Been wanting to try this spot for a while and was pretty happy with our experience. Service and food were quite good. There were 7 in our party and we got a pizza, breadsticks, salad, fried rice, curry and sweet and sour chicken. The pizza was ok. It was nice to be able to appease the kids with some pizza, though my youngest didn't like it because it was "too cheesy". The salad and breadsticks were bad. Breadsticks were super dry and crispy with almost no flavor. The curry, fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken were very good, but way overpriced in my opinion. The pineapple curry I got was $15.99, plus $1.99 for chicken, so $18 for 2 cups of rice and curry. Even with inflation that is pretty absurd. I'd expect it to be around $12 or even as much as $14. Might end up here for date night, but certainly won't be taking the whole family. read more

Wasn't a bad place. We went here mostly because our girls LOVE pizza and my husband LOVES romen/Asian food. The girls got the small cheese pizza and shared it. It was delicious. You can pick mild, medium or hot sause as well as your toppings. It honestly reminded us of Circle pizza. Mmmmmmm we love the Circles pizza. My husband got the spicy pork Pho bowl. I got the combination Pho. It was good. Didn't have a huge amount of flavor in the broth but had things to add to it of you wanted. All the protein in mine was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was our cups for our tea was dirty. My handle looked kinda nasty but my husband's cup had a tea ring inside before he even poured his tea. Other than that we liked it. But don't let your puzzlement stop you from coming here. It really is a gem and a hidden one at that. We stopped by to have a late lunch today since I was craving pad see ew & after reading reviews from here, it seemed like theirs was good. The inside is pretty clean and spacy & has a cafeteria feel to it. Objectively, the food tasted fine. I had the chicken/pork pad Thai. It was good but not the best pad Thai I have ever had. For some reason the sprouts were just garnished on the side, raw. I'm no Thai expert but I haven't seen them added completely raw before. Husband had the sweet and sour stir fry, and it was fairly watery, and no char or grill marks which would have made it better. It just lacked the "POW" that grilled stir fry should normally have. It was more like a sweet and sour stew. The flavor was good, but each plate was $13 and definitely not such a large portion that I would have leftovers. So overall, if this visit had cost me about $8/plate instead of $13, this would have been a higher star review. The cost to quality ratio was just imbalanced. The service was very nice, the dining room was clean (although the booth benches were incredibly uncomfortable), and I did actually finish my food which is good. read more

Sounds like those scary places that serve way too much different kind of food. However, fortunately, this place is pretty good! Ordered the phad see ew and wanted some curry but not a full curry meal so I asked if they could make a smaller curry entre which they did! Phad see ew was really flavorful and perfectly cooked. We decided to give Thai Khao Kaeng Express and Pizzeria another shot, and I'm glad we did! We tried their pizza last summer and it wasn't our jam. Everyone in this group raves about it, but we didn't care for it all. However, the thai dishes we got today? They were great. Have been there at least 6 times & have trouble ordering anything but the pad thai - so good I've gone down & picked it up to go a few times besides that. I stick to the chicken, but my husband has had the shrimp too. Their pizzas look great & people I've gone there with have loved them. I'd like to try the curry pizza, but I would have to eat that all myself husband not a curry person. Great for a big group, good service & plenty of seating- small storefront, but it's big & deep. Quite frankly, we didn't know what to expect but we just wanted to eat out after the Panic Pandemic, and this place was open for dine-in. We got the Pad Thai, Pineapple Curry, eggrolls and Chicken Satay. I can safely say that everything was excellent. I would have to say my favorite out of all that was the chicken. Great flavor.
