We were on vacation and hit Clancy's for lunch after going to Cuffy's. It was quiet for lunch. Our server was great. I had the Cobb salad with the dressing on the side. It was large and good. The lobster salad on it was a nice touch. There was WAYYY too much blue cheese for my liking, but I just took that off. My daughter had the Chicken Ceasar salad. It was sopping wet with dressing. She couldn't eat it. My son had the steak tips. It was good, but on the small side, for the price. All in all, we gave our Clancy's lunch 4 stars. They have a lot of GF options which is good. Service was good. We sat outside on the deck which was lovely. It seems like it might be a restaurant that the seniors would enjoy. The food is good. Not spectacular. We've been coming to Clancy's for years and it only seems to get better. The food is great and the staff very well trained, friendly, and accommodating. On this night (see photo) we enjoyed two Clancy Classics. The steak tips and the baked cod with Ritz cracker crumbs. The steamed lobster was tempting - especially at $37 - but we wanted to go back to the classics. I subbed the Tavern Salad for a starch and it never disappoints. The house vinaigrette is perfect. The cod was plentiful and baked just right with the cracker crumbs browned on top. There was a mountain of fresh steamed veggies. The Mrs asked for the steak tips medium rare and guess what - they were exactly that. Along with grilled asparagus and wonderful mashed potatoes - I got to try them. She also had a perfect Pink cocktail. No room for desert this time but they have a nice selection. Usually no wait if you're early (up to 5pm) and you can hop on the wait list online if you're going prime time. Had lunch with friends today and sat out on the back for a great view of the water. Seated as soon as the place opened and our server appeared immediately to take drink orders and to recommend things to try. She was right on! We ordered the scallop sandwich, mahi mahi wrap, fish sandwich, whole belly clams and French onion soup. The soup arrived first covered in melted cheese and looking delicious. It's gluten free so it didn't have the rich hearty beef flavor that you would expect. It was still good with plenty of onions and gluten free croutons is what I would think. The scallop roll came with deep fried scallops in a toasted roll. Comment was made that the breading seemed a little heavy but it was still good. The fish sandwich was nicely fried and crisp served open style. Breading was just right on this dish and the fish was very fresh. The mahi wrap was packed with plenty of fish and veggies. Enough for two meals! The whole belly clams plate was filled with plenty large clams, nicely breaded. A little crunchy and a very fresh taste. All dishes had a side of French fries to go with the main meal. Seating was comfortable and it was a great day to sit outside. Clancy's is a cape cod staple! The ambiance is nautical, with the restaurant sitting on a waterway. The waitstaff were super friendly. We had a 25 min wait, which wasn't bad at all. We sat outside and waited. The food was served quickly and was delicious. Our only complaint is that the tables are so close to one another you barely have room to pull out your chair. The lobster roll was packed with huge pieces of lobster, cooked perfectly with a sweet buttery flavor. The fish & chips was good (a little overcooked). the steak tips were good but the serving of steak tips was a little disappointing, a small amount of steak, seemed more like a side to the vegetables & mashed potatoes. read more

My wife and I had supper at Clancey's this past Saturday. They had a good crowd but it wasn't packed so we got a table right at the window by their deck right away. The view would be pretty nice during the day and without a ton of snow on the deck but that's what to expect in the winter. The bar was not far from us and was pretty crowded/loud. The server was very nice and took our order - we started with the calamari appetizer, my wife had a cup of clam chowder and a broiled scallops dish and I had a lobster roll with French fries. Neither one of us thought the chowder was that good - had a strange taste to it that neither one of us could identify - it wasn't bad, just not great. The calamari was good and while the bowl it came served in was large, probably half of the order contained peppers so it wasn't as generous a portion as it looked. The calamari was pretty good - had a nice cornmeal crunch to it but I liked it a bit more than my wife did. The scallops were a generous portion and VERY tender - my wife really enjoyed them. The scallops came with a baked potato and veggies and my wife said the potato almost tasted like it was microwaved and not baked in an oven. My lobster roll was good as were the fries - nothing spectacular but not bad. For dessert we split an apple crisp (also pictured with this review). I thought it was too sweet, on the mushy side and I didn't taste a lot of apple in it (I think the sweetness overrode the apple). The apple crisp came with a bit of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. My wife did enjoy it and thought it was quite good. Service was nice but on the slow side (we waited at least ten minutes for our supper plates to be cleared). The server was good about refilling our water glasses. Overall not a bad place. We are new to the Cape (having moved here in December 2025) and are trying out local restaurants to see if we can find a "favorite." Clancey's is not bad but I doubt we would consider it a favorite. I'm rating it with four stars but if I could I'd probably give it 3.5 - I'll round up because the server was very pleasant. read more

Consistently great food & specials! We love to come to Clancy's every year and greatly enjoy seeing the same smiling faces who are incredible wait staff! Specials are always our go to, with normally the swordfish special as a crowd favorite. The chef prepares the fish beautifully, unlike we've had before! Plus the onion rings are the same original recipe from what Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports reviewed as best onion rings he's ever had at Flying Bridge. (Sister restaurant I think they just recently sold.) The negative reviews really just highlight people who are likely tired and waited too long to go out to dinner! Just had a lunch at this establishment. Our waitress was very friendly. My friend and I sat outside on the back deck overlooking a water inlet. It was very relaxing and there was a nice breeze. We shared the biggest pretzel in the world as an app, which came with a nice cheese and sweet mustard sauce. My friend had a burger which she devoured. I had broiled scallops sans cracker topping. Instead of mash, I ended up getting Parmesean risotto (good), it also came with fresh crisp cooked broccoli, cauliflower, carrot strips and green beans. tl;dr: bad food, discriminatory and probably racist bartender, downhill in last 10 years since original owners died It's funny, my family and I went to Clancy's loyally for decades -- until their bartender (older white man) ignored all of us for an hour while serving every one of the other patrons who walked up (even those who didn't have seats/spots at bar) last summer. Multiple members of our party tried multiple times to get his attention and we were all seated properly at bar, per the host's suggestion while we waited for our table, and the bartender wouldn't even make eye contact with any of us for us to ever place an initial order. All the other patrons he served were in the same situation as us -- waiting to be seated at their table -- so there's no good explanation for why we were ignored. I will note that our party of 8 had the only nonwhite patrons at the bar, and we took up nearly half the seats at the bar -- so ignoring us was both a financial choice and a political choice for Clancy's as a business. If the bartender at Clancy's wants to come across as racist, he did literally everything right. Looking at other reviews, other reviewers mention he has a pattern of ignoring Asian customers. It was really uncomfortable for our family and put a damper on all our past Clancy's memories. On top of that, the food that visit was terrible -- and once we were finally seated, they botched our orders (forgot an order entirely, then brought out a BBQ salmon instead of the salmon Caesar they initially forgot). Seems like it's all been downhill since original owner died and restaurant was sold to a hospitality group (Zammer) in 2012. The only reason they deserve any stars or support is for the kind servers who work there, who've always been so nice to us, and the hosts, who are great. Hope the awful bartender has the day he deserves and will look forward to finding out he's gone one day -- if he is, I'd consider returning, until then, it's a decades-old tradition we unhappily retired due to how we were treated. Silver lining: there's so many other spots on the Cape you can go for better seafood and service, recommend avoiding other Zammer group restaurants based on how bad Clancy's has gotten the last few years. read more

She was affable, efficient, and effective. The outdoor dining was very pleasant. Went back for a second try. My wife who was quite hungry ordered the fish tacos. She did not finish them. I ordered the Chicken Kari-Anne. I don't recommend that either. The service on the other hand was excellent. The waitress was very efficient and very attentive to my wife. My husband and I along with our brother in law visited Clancy's tonight after a harrowing week of losing my mother in law (my husband and brother in law's mother) and burying her just yesterday. She passed away on 4/4/25. Today we headed own the Cape to N Chatham at Liberty Commons to visit my step mother who is suffering from early onset dementia. We live in Florida. So we don't get to visit her often. This has been an emotional week for all of us. We went to Clancy's for a bite to eat before we headed back to Boston. The woman at the front of the restaurant was not friendly at all. She was eyeing my brother in law for taking a few pieces of candy before we were seated. We were seated by that same woman who now I know was Darlene Parker. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic. She knew that our service dog was with us. We even put him in a dog carrier not to disturb anyone else. My service dog Bailey, barked a few very small barks when he felt my anxiety kicking in. Nobody said a word including our waitress. Then Darlene Parker came to our table and told us our dog had to leave and be put in our car or all of us had to leave the restaurant. We had already ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner at that time. I told Darlene that he was a service animal in which she had asked me what service he provided to me. This is illegal for her to ask. I reluctantly told her my condition and she told me that was not acceptable. We wanted to walk out of the restaurant right then and there but we decided to put Bailey in the car which caused me and Bailey both extreme anxiety and our dinner was absolutely ruined. Our waitress seemed embarrassed by the whole encounter with Darlene Parker. Our waitress was truly a gem. Tried Clancy's for the first time and was impressed! The parking lot in the front is fairly small but there is a larger lot in the back and smaller lot across the street. We started with a round of drinks and some onion rings. The onion rings were a VERY generous serving and delicious. For entrees, we had the French Onion Soup, Steak Tips (with mashed potatoes), and a Salmon Caesar Salad (not pictured). Everything was delicious! My husband & I are so happy to have found this amazing restaurant! I am celiac and need gluten free and Clancy's has a great assortment of gf including the most delicious GF clam chowder. We went twice in one week. The wait staff is amazing & so accommodating! The cocktails are pretty terrific too!! I was able to modify a dinner to gf with suggestions from our waitress! Overlooks the water and place inside is large and open so you don't feel squished in with another table on top of you like other Cape restaurants. No dice. Nice dish presentation, but not impressed with quality. Here's why. Most items on the menu are frozen and not freshly prepared. What we ordered: We ordered bang bang shrimp, quahogs (appetizers); shrimp wrap, salmon burger, kids chicken tenders & a kids personal pizza. ALL of those items are frozen. They don't make the salmon burger in house (it's from a Cisco food delivery). Reminded me of the frozen salmon burger patties you'd get at Costco. The quohogs are made from another source, then yep..frozen and shipped to the restaurant. All the shrimp; frozen. Tyson frozen chicken is the chicken tenders like from the grocery store. The pizza is also frozen. Nothing we had was made fresh to order. This is not my opinion...I asked them. I can understand some Items would be frozen like the tenders and such but the seafood?
