We were the first party to walk in on Saturday evening around 6 (it picked up a decent bit after we came in; also consider this is off season.) Typical Thai decor and color scheme inside, it was clean and tables are spaced properly. I've gotten takeout from here several times so decided to come for dine in and what a difference. The food was excellent - reminds me of the pad Thai I would have in NYC. The summer rolls we got for appetizers were crunchy, fresh, and well stuffed with a mix of veggies. The pad Thai had the right amount of sauce and spices. The salmon was cooked as requested. Shout out to Wilson! What a sweetheart. Very attentive, funny, and kind. We bonded over our love for spice and having visited Bangkok previously, this was a great dinner for us. We will absolutely come back.

Came on a Friday for dinner and it was only us and another table which was shocking. The crispy chicken pad Thai and fried rice were really good, and the Thai iced tea tasted just as expected! Our waitress wasn't the best, didn't really speak, just came up and stood.

After enjoying our delivery order from this place, we decided to experience it in the flesh tonight. On the night of our visit, it was spank in the middle of Labor Day weekend so the place was busier than usual. The server was a riot but busy. She did a good job considering the circumstances but our beers were circling the drain for a while before we were able to order another round. I LOVE the many vegetarian options they have, better than what I'm used to. Many of their appetizers and entrees have a vegetarian option and we took advantage by ordering their veggie rolls and vegetable gyoza. They were both INCREDIBLE. The wrappers on the gyoza were light but crisp. They were both warm when they came out and you could tell they were fresh AF. The dipping sauce for both just took it to the next level. So good. We also ordered a couple entrees to share. A photo on yelp convinced GF to pull the trigger on the something mama noodles as it was highly rated on yelp. These were AMAZING. Some of the most flavorful noodles I've ever had. They really had a nice heat as well. The noodles were chewy. Absolutely delicious. I'm typically a ho for Penang curry but at GF's urging, we switched it up.and went with another curry, the green curry. The tofu here is delicious and the vegetables were plentiful however the curry was just.....ok. There was nothing about it that made me feel compelled to eat it, I could take it or leave it. It was honestly just taking up gastric space and I took the rest home for later. It was a huge bummer that, of all things at a Thai place, ,the curry was disappointing.

The jumbo fried shrimp was tasty and very crispy. I enjoyed the amount of veggies they served in the Thai curry stew. It was a healthy and delicious meal and service was quick too. The restaurant is small but wasn't busy when we went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Recommend.

It is soooo difficult to find a Thai restaurant that makes a tom yum noodle soup and makes it well. Taste of Siam is a tiny Thai restaurant on Main Street in Hyannis but blink and you'll miss it and trust me, you don't want to! The inside of the restaurant is small but very clean and designed to make you comfortable. The service is friendly and excellent. Our food was brought out in a timely manner and my soup was hot. (I hate warm soup yuk!) Hubs and I ordered the summer rolls. They were rolled well and had everything inside that was expected. The peanut sauce was very good. (I prefer a thicker peanut sauce). I ordered the Tom yum noodle soup with seafood assortment. It was full of beautiful shrimp and scallops and calamari. Very lemony and delish!! Hubs ordered Massaman Curry with chicken. He loved it. The portions are perfect! You can bet we will be back!

**Extremely Disappointing Birthday Experience**…read more I have been to emBargo before and have generally enjoyed my experiences here, which is why I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday weekend. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disappointment, especially considering our bill was approximately $225. One of the biggest issues was the lack of attentiveness from our waiter. At one point, I needed a fork to eat my meal. One of my guests was heading to the restroom and specifically told our waiter that I needed a fork. I waited approximately five minutes, giving him more than enough time to bring one over. Instead, he continued having a conversation with another employee while I sat at the table unable to properly eat my meal. Eventually, I had to get up from my own birthday dinner and find a fork myself. Only after I got up did someone attempt to assist me with the utensil. Then, at approximately 9:35 PM, our waiter brought the bill to the table even though no one had asked for the check. I found this especially off-putting because this was clearly a birthday celebration, and we had not indicated that we were finished. We weren't even given the opportunity to order dessert or continue celebrating. The waiter had also mentioned that his shift didn't end until around 11 PM, making me even more confused as to why we were essentially being rushed out more than an hour beforehand. When I paid the approximately $225 bill, I left a $15 tip and wrote a note explaining why. I normally tip more than 20%, particularly when I receive good service, but I did not believe the service that evening justified that amount. What happened afterward was what truly ruined the experience. After seeing the tip and my note, the waiter came back to our table and confronted us about it. He raised his voice and argued that we should not have given him the tip we gave him because he believed he had provided good service. When I attempted to explain the problems we experienced, he put his hand up toward me, said that he didn't want to hear it, and walked away. That was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. A customer should never be confronted or yelled at because an employee disagrees with the amount of a discretionary tip especially after the customer has already explained the service issues. I understand that this waiter was relatively new and had only been working at the restaurant for approximately six weeks. I can absolutely give someone grace for being new. What I cannot excuse is confronting a customer over a tip, refusing to listen to their concerns, and walking away dismissively. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I was a returning customer. I have recommended emBargo to friends, colleagues in banking, investors, and other people in my professional network because of my previous experiences here. Unfortunately, after the way my birthday celebration was handled, I can no longer comfortably recommend this restaurant. I specifically chose emBargo for a special occasion. Instead of leaving with a great birthday memory, I left feeling rushed, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend emBargo for birthdays or other special celebrations unless management addresses how situations like this are handled.

While they've made a few enhancements to the interior - it was always softly lit sitting and eating spaces, accented by beautiful exotic art pieces, live fish in large bright aquariums and tasteful decor. Super spots for 2 or 4 to enjoy delicious drinks and an authentically tasty meal. Or tall tables for 1 and a good read. I remember the bartender/server from years ago - a man of few words but incredible drink making skills! We had margaritas that he MADE FROM SCRATCH - no plastic bottle of margarita mix, he prepared them with fresh fruit, juices and tequila with the artistry of table-prepared guacamole or Japanese cuisine - and SO tasty! One is featured in the pics. See the VERY extensive and beautiful menu; I've had several dishes in the past, none of which disappointed, but I returned to the Spicy Fried Rice with shrimp and pork, and Paul had the Ying's Ramen. My apologies, it smelled SO good that we fell upon it like wolves the instant we got home, so no pics of our dishes. But there are plenty of pics in their menu, which I've posted along with some interior shots. I put a lot of emphasis on personality and guest interaction, and as great as the drinks were/are, a more welcoming engagement with the bartender/server would get a 5 rating, easily. We got a hint of a smile when he bought the nicely packaged bag of food out, but overall felt more tolerated than welcomed. 4.5 is the rating. Try it - the food is amazing, and for some, that's all that matters.

Between all of us, we got to try the boneless ribs, crab rangoon, chicken fingers, rice, fries, eggrolls, beef teriyaki and chicken wings. Everything was pretty tasty; we had no complaints. Price was reasonable and portion size was generous. They found out that my husband and I were there for a quick getaway weekend to celebrate our birthdays a little early, so the bartender put together a fruit birthday cake for us! It was basically a banana with pineapples and cherries around it and a candle. I thought that was really nice of them.
