Right off the bat I was not a fan of the texture and the crab tasted like it came from a can. The flavors were not great either so we ended up adding our own sauce. It also did not taste spicy at all despite ordering level 4. Pad Thai Pork ($17.45): Got this with spice level 3 and vegan sauce. The pork was overcooked and tasted almost like chicken. The spice level came through on this one but the sauce leaned too sour, which I think was from too much tamarind. Mi Krop Crispy ($12.50): Crispy wontons tossed in a sweet and sour tamarind sauce with some scrambled egg and one jumbo shrimp. The wontons were not crispy at all and the flavor was only slightly better than the pad thai. Still not worth it. Dallas has so many solid Thai options that this one just did not make the cut for us.

The woman who gave us our refund (for the pre-tax amount, after asking us what we wanted and replying the full amount with tip) did not apologize for our troubles, or offer any additional concessions to make up for their error (running our card TWICE for different amounts at the same time, after giving it to our waiter). I asked for a gift certificate for our troubles/their error, and she refused, still with no apology. See you never again, Thai Thai, for double charging us and doing the bare minimum (not even an apology) to address their "mistake."

It was really good. The best dish was the crab dip with the shrimp chips, the dip was curried and balanced well with the crab. The chicken wings weren't as crispy as we're used to, and there were more on the saucy side, but it was a solid 4/5 dish. The drunken noodles were good and I feel like they had a great mix of veggies, beef, and noodles in the dish, so it wasn't so carb heavy. But we've definitely had better flavor drunken noodles before. Lastly, the mango sticky rice presentation was unlike anything I've seen before, and I loved it. Do I prefer the traditional sliced mango over a bit of rice? Perhaps. But I did enjoy tasting the mango and the condensed milk and a sticky rice together inside the coconut for a change. Service: we went during dinnertime on a Saturday night, and I was so impressed with the level of service we had. Because don't get me wrong, they were busy, but the food came out so fast & we had multiple servers filling up our water and ensuring we're doing okay. We were literally out of there in about an hour, but it wasn't because they were pushing us out, it was truly because everything was so quick. And I loved that strategy they used where we didn't have just one server assigned to us, which is probably why they are thriving here in Dallas. Overall, if you're craving Thai, I would recommend coming here.

They were pretty dry with just a slight crunch. We ended up dipping them in the bang bang sauce to help with the dryness. Crispy ZAAP Wings ($10.75): These were not as flavorful as we were hoping. They tasted a lot better with the bang bang sauce but on their own they fell flat. I would not get either appetizer again. Drunken Noodles / Pad Kee Mao ($16.99) + Combo Protein ($4): This was the best of everything we ordered. The combo protein came with chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp and the dish came out piping hot and fresh. It tasted really good and is worth ordering.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!! Seriously y'all... My husband and I placed a takeout order through Yelp, paid for our food, and then he went to go pick it up. When he got there the manager had our food ready but REFUSED to give it to him because she didn't know which company fulfilled the order with yelp because she didn't receive the payment from them yet. But mind you she had our order ready, so clearly she could see we had ordered and paid for our food! He showed her our receipt and the payment and she even had a copy of the receipt and the order but would not let him leave. We couldn't even get our money back. She literally told my husband "you sit, you aren't going anywhere". I had to drive up to the restaurant and speak with her. I'm sorry but HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO FULFILLS YOUR COMPANY'S ORDER??? Also, how is it our problem as the customer?? And HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET OFF TELLING A PAYING CUSTOMER THEY CANT LEAVE WITH THE FOOD THEY PAID FOR?? I understand that not receiving the payment yet from the third party company is frustrating, BUT THATS NOT OUR FAULT!! After we pay, and we have a receipt confirming our payment, the issue is now between you and the company that fulfills your orders. It is not our fault. If you can't trust that company then maybe don't use them to fulfill your damn orders!! We give you our money, don't you dare tell us we can't leave with our food. The only reason we finally left is because my sweet husband called the company who fulfills their Yelp order (how he was able to figure out who it was and the MANAGER at Thai opal couldn't is beyond me) and had them confirm to the manager at Thai opal that, yes, we paid for the order that the receipt we had and that Thai opal had already confirmed. The manager was super rude to my husband and I, and tbh the food was super bland and not good. We have eaten here before and it was ok, but I will never go here again, and I would suggest you do the same. Horrible horrible customer service. Beyond disappointed. Also the manager didn't try at all to make anything better. Never did she apologize for the massive inconvenience or anything. read more

This is my first yelp review. I had to write something about this hidden gem. Location is a little secret since its behind a big Tex-Mex restaurant so its pretty difficult to see. However, once you find it, like me, you'll fall in love. During lunch, Susan always gives out complimentary eggrolls. Service is always fast since I do need to head back into work fast. I always order the special, basil eggplant with chicken. It is amazing! It takes all I got to not lick the plate and make a fool out of myself. During dinner, I try new things, the peanut sauce is really yummy and today, I had the whole fish. And wow!! Presentation was phenomenal. And it tasted even better than it looked. It seems their busiest hour, around 7:30, deliveries do take longer. However, I always order around 6 or 6:30 and it takes about 20 minutes and food is always fresh but it's not the same as eating it there where it won't be in a box. Dining in is definitely a better choice. Service is always splendid. They really take care of my every want and need. As soon as I want something, like water or chopsticks, they always hurry to the rescue. There really is nothing bad I can say about this place. I love it. Good job Thai Opal. read more

HORRIBLE! I ordered a takeout order on Yelp (pre-paid online) and when I went to pick it up the manager had my food ready but would not give it to me because she didn't know which third party company fulfills their Yelp orders and the payment hadn't gone through to them yet. This woman had the audacity to tell me I had to sit and could not leave with my food, although I had a receipt and had clearly paid. What kind of business doesn't know who fulfills their orders? If you have an issue with Yelp, then maybe, and this is just a thought, DON'T PUT YOUR BUSINESS ON YELP! The fact that you had my order ready and could clearly see that I paid, but had an issue with the third party company that YOU hired to fulfill your orders and had the nerve to make me, the customer who gave you money, basically be held hostage at your restaurant and catch all kinds of attitude from you is quite honestly the most abhorrent customer service I've ever encountered. I've never written a review before but just wanted to warn others about the horrible service I received here. Will NEVER be coming back. read more

We had a great meal at Thai Opal! There was a small mishap with our order, but the manager, Susan, handled it quickly and professionally--huge kudos to her. We started with the crab rangoons, which were crispy and creamy--solid 8/10. My wife ordered the Pad Thai chicken, which was decent but could've used a bit more salt and flavor--6/10. The spicy basil noodles with beef were a highlight. I asked for 4-star spice, though it wasn't quite as hot as expected--still a solid 8/10 on taste. To top it off, we shared the coconut ice cream--rich, refreshing, and a must-try. We both agreed it deserved a 9/10.
