Aug 2024 Review Important things to consider: This is a counter order/take out restaurant. There are no tables/seats available inside the restaurant. There is only enough room inside for 1 or 2 people to place an order. Seating is available outside (about 4 tables for 2). We ordered 2 dishes: the drunken noodles (with chicken), and the Thai basil (with chicken). The Thai basil dish was alright (minus 1 star). We both really enjoyed the Drunken Noodles instead!

I'm not sure how this place flew under the radar for so long, but the jig is up! If you're looking for some good Thai food, come here! Just beware that this location is to-go only. They do provide sidewalk seating, however. This can be especially nice in the month of May before it gets too hot. The service here was great and I love that they warn you about spice levels so choose at your own risk. I ordered the Chicken Pad Kee Mao and Meatball Skewers. The noodles were 10/10. I got the spicy level 3, but I could have easily gone up to 4. The meatballs tasted clean and I can't think of any other way to describe them. They weren't bad, but I didn't love them either. It came with sweet & sour, which I found to be very liquid. The "sauce" didn't stick to the meat at all. Not sure what that was about. All in all, I was content with my meal and can't wait to come back to try their wings!

Spice level 4 where have you been my whole life. This place is new to victory park although they have locations around town so its not "new" new. Its a small storefront, suitable for walk-up and take out. They have 3 small two-tops outside, so if DFW weather be kind you can park yourself there. I got myself drunken noodles with chicken added and then Laotian iced coffee which I have not tried before. They had the coffee (& Thai Iced Teas) sitting in to go cups in a fridge just waiting for ice to be added so it's pretty quick turn around on those. They said 10 minutes to get my food but it was more like 5. Its wasn't busy (late lunch for me) and the lady at the counter was nice enough to bring it outside to me. If my opening line wasn't a dead give away, let me confirm the food was delicious. Kind of pricey for lunch but I got two meals out of it. I really enjoyed the flavor and they nailed that spice level for me. The food had tons of chicken as well (it's an extra add-on mind you). I am definitely coming back here.

Great downtown establishment! Less then a block from the area. Not a white lot of seating, more like a carry out, they did have a few tables out front. The food was super hot, tasty, and fresh. The cashier was very helpful and knowledgeable. After you order the lady would walk out and give you the food, IT WAS FAST! The food was on Point and super tasty. If you are in the mood for some GREAT Thai and Lao food this is the spot.... Definitely would recommend!!!! Great job ZAAP staff!!!!!!!!

Near American Airlines Center and the W Hotel. No sit down area. The nam khao, lao sausage, papaya salad - all legit.

Food - Man the food was good. I got the drunken noodle w/chicken and a 2 hot. It was hot, fresh, and had the correct ratio of meet, veggies, and noodles. Be careful their hot level is true if you get a 5 your mouth will be on fire. I go with a 3 and I can eat Tabasco comfortably. Service - It was quick. Was told the food would be a 10min wait and it ended up being a little more than 5. Ambiance - the is a walk out restaurant. They don't have any tables or chairs inside the restaurant. They have a few small tables with 2 chairs a piece and I sat and ate one there. It was a nice day so it was nice to be in the city to get the experience. Overall this was a great place to eat. Next time I go to American Airlines Center i will stop by again.

Not the best looking pics since we had already dug in before I remembered to take pics for Yelp lol but don't let these pics fool you, the food at this place is just as AMAZINGGGG as the prices! We got the pad Thai (chicken, spice level 3), pad see ew (chicken, spice level 3), and Laotian fried rice (chicken). Everything was so good and so flavorful, and the containers were fully packed! Definitely one of our faves in the Victory Park area! We ordered online on toast and the order was ready in about 15-20 minutes! We asked for soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce when we got there and they gave it to us with no problem! There's no seating inside, but there are tables outside if you want to sit and eat but we usually just take our food back home! Would definitely recommend this place to all the Thai lovers and the Thai newbies!

You just get it from their fridge. I liked their beef larb. Level 4 was pretty spicy. We got it cooked. The Laos sausage was good but tasted like the ones you can buy yourself and cook. Their nam Khao had very good flavor. My only critique is that it could be even crispier and it would be perfect. Their Khao poon is okay not bad. I like my mother in laws better. Khao piek had good hearty broth flavor. Overall would come back if in the area! Their ambiance is a restaurant combined with a market you can get some pantry or frozen foods.

It's tucked away and attached to a small Lao grocery store, which honestly made it feel even more authentic. The moment we walked in, it felt like we were about to get a home-cooked meal. We ordered the organ soup with sticky rice, beef lahp, and nam khao, and everything was absolutely delicious. The broth in the organ soup was rich, clean, and deeply flavorful, exactly how it's supposed to taste. The sticky rice came out warm and perfectly chewy. The beef lahp was bright and herbaceous with the right amount of spice and lime, super fresh, and tasted just like what we've had in Laos/at family gatherings. And the nam khao was crispy, tangy, and packed with flavor. You can tell they don't cut corners on ingredients here. What I appreciated most is the authenticity. A lot of other reviewers mentioned that this is one of the few places in Texas where the food tastes "just like home," and I completely agree. Multiple people also mentioned the friendly staff and how the market side carries essentials and hard-to-find Lao/Thai items. We felt the same way, everyone was kind, and the grocery section is a nice bonus for anyone looking for snacks or specialty ingredients. Portions were solid, prices were fair, and the quality was amazing. This is exactly the kind of spot you hope to find when traveling. If you want real Lao food, skip the trendy places and come here instead. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Texas. Highly, highly recommend.

I absolutely love Meat Larb and Papaya Salad, and I also picked up some small sticky rice and a container of cabbage pickle. I remember the gentleman at the counter quoted me around $42.00 for everything, which seemed right based on what I ordered. When I paid by card, I honestly didn't get a clear view of the amount on the terminal, and I was in a bit of a hurry, so I didn't think to ask for a receipt at the time. I totally regret that now! It wasn't until I checked my bank statement a couple days later that I noticed a charge of $282.20 from Overseas Market. As you can imagine, I was pretty surprised, as it's quite a bit more than the $42.00 I was expecting. Spoke with the man by the phone he said I don't have a receipt and refused to work with me. At this point he left me no choice I got back online and did a partial dispute. This type of incident can happen to anyone so, please ask for a receipt and take time to look at it.

But the dining flow is smoother and the dining room is larger and more comfortable. They have sacrificed considerable shelf shopping, an entire row - I didn't see my favorite pho packaged broth mix - but I certainly appreciated all the new tables and chairs. You still order and pay up front. There are photos for everything you might want to order, but there is something that cannot really be conveyed. I believe that the heat levels are hotter than most places. They will warn you. Believe them. So I believed it, it was still HOT, and I had to laugh. I still enjoyed it all. So my Husband got his wish and ordered the garlicky Pork Riblets. They are marinated in garlic, fried in garlic, and topped with garlic. So very very good. He also had the Chicken Wings also deep into the garlic flavor and very tender. He shared with me. Thank goodness. So I shared the always crunchy and tasty pork egg rolls. Heaven. They came with their own sauce, but there's a table up by the kitchen with the Hoisin, Sriracha, and other sauces and of course there is a spice tray. My husband had their wonderful green curry and I, the Pad Kee Mao, which was very spicy even at a (2). I wasn't keen on the noodle texture or lack of sauce. I've had many versions of Drunken Noodles and I wanted to like this this one. I love this grocery and restaurant combination. It's aromatic and fun! I ordered the basil fried rice (spice level 2) and the pork fried crispy rolls. The spice level 2 gave the rice a subtle kick - noticeable but not overwhelming - which is just the way I like it. The basil fried rice was packed with egg, bamboo shoots, baby corn, mushrooms, bell peppers, white onions, fresh basil, and garlic. The flavors were balanced, and the portion size was VERY generous - this was way more than single meal for me. The crispy pork rolls were also very good. They were filled with pork, green onions, glass noodles, carrots, white onions, and cabbage, and served with a thin sweet & sour sauce that complemented them nicely without being too heavy. Even though I ordered them as an appetizer, they arrived midway through my meal, so not the best timing. The fountain machine wasn't working, so drinks were $2.50 for a can of soda with no refills. That felt a bit steep for a canned drink. I count that as a downside of the visit. Overall, the food was flavorful and generously portioned. With small improvements on the drink situation and meal timing, it could easily be a 5-star experience.
