We stopped by Thai Palm late at night while in Palm Springs for my partner's birthday. After a long, busy day, we were HUNGRY and very happy to find somewhere still open! We ordered the drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice, and the portions were MASSIVE. Definitely enough food to satisfy a late-night hunger, with plenty to go around. The food itself was decent, nothing that completely blew me away, but it absolutely did the job. Went with the tom kha coconut soup (very tasty) the eggplant which was cooked perfectly, just soft enough but not mushy (get sticky rice on the side!) and the pumpkin curry. The pumpkin is kobacha squash which is really naturally sweet and flavorful, the best! Will absolutely come back if we are in the area again. My partner and I enjoyed most of our food. I highly recommend the shrimp rolls, sticky rice, and papaya salad. The green curry tastes different from what we were used to, I thought it was ok, but my partner didn't mind it. It had a bit of a different flavor to it that tasted more like cilantro. The mango sticky rice was okay. The mangos tasted like they were in the refrigerator uncovered. We didn't finish it. The Thai tea was good, standard, but good. The workers were friendly. The place is interesting. It's a mix of traditional and a little run down. I guess it was clean enough. There were a lot of people coming in and out for take out orders. First time i went i was happy. My orders recently have gotten worse and worse. Today i ordered 2 items. I ordered one item with tofu, and one just vegetables. The tofu ended up in the wrong item. The second item i ordered mild and turned up medium to spicy. When I found 1 piece of chicken in my item and an odd taste like it had two different curries, I realized that someones leftovers or an unpicked up item was mixed into my order. Scary read more

Now I know everyone has different taste buds but generally when you get Thai food some of the items are similar no matter where you go. Except here. The menu showed chicken satay with peanut sauce and cucumber salad on the side. What I received was chicken pieces on top of bed of lettuce with no cucumber salad and the "peanut sauce" had ZERO peanut flavor, was watery and orange colored. I think maybe it was a papaya salad dressing?. But I even called to confirm my order and they said that yes,the orange salad dressing was their "peanut sauce". Also ordered the pad Thai which was pretty flavorless with almost no vegetables except a few onion and bean sprouts. The crab Rangoon and even the Thai iced tea was sad too. That is why I gave it 3 stars. The Crab Rangoons were overly fried but the inside was tasty. The Yellow Curry was abysmal. It had large chunks of green bell pepper that overtook the entire flavor profile. It was yellowish green pepper weird gross sauce stuff. The rice was fine. I will never get back my $60 bucks and I will not ever eat at this restaurant again. Desert Hot Springs is void of any good restaurants as far as I can tell. Came here on a whim. So glad we got to experience this. I would say this comes close to one of the better Thai spots in California. They serve so much and their food is great! We got the yellow curry rice with chicken and beef, as well as the pineapple rice with chicken! Delicious, the staff is always so friendly. These lead off with a decent sized salad with a sort of French dressing, a vegetable egg roll and then the main dish which includes a small bowl of some kind of celery and green onion based clear soup. Both dishes were good. Chicken and shrimp seemed fresh as were all vegetables Service was efficient, a little on the slow side, but everything moved along and any needs such as water or ice tea refills were accommodated before you started thinking about complaining.
