    Lomo Saltado

I was in town for "business" reasons and asked "locals" here what they recommended as must eats... hence, I ended up here. OVERALL: The quality is a miss. The proportional quantity is a miss. This place is a miss. CEVICHE MIXTO: Mussels overcooked (there was only one and without the shell). Shrimp bordering on overcooked. Squid is alright and the best part of the seafood mix. Fish is raw (as expected) but the texture was unsettling. Loved the included blend of "corn" from steamed to salted crisp. LOMO SALTADO: LOMO = beef. Omg, the yuca fries were 3x the amount of meat. Half of the chunks of beef were rock hard. The other half of the beef were moderately tender. The red onions were half cooked but delicious. The rice was overcooked. The sauce / base was delicious. ***YES MAKE SURE YOU TRY THE GREEN SAUCE!!!*** INCA KOLA: Artificially delicious. It tasted exactly like rock sugar candy on a stick from childhood. SERVICE: Male wait staff was kind and friendly as well as mildly attentive... still had to wave him down most of the time. However, it was terrible how he didn't forewarn us that solely hot water was $2. HOT WATER FOR $2!!! Never came to refill any of our beverages except offered us leftover water (hazy / cloudy glass bottles with 1/4 water left in them) as we were there 1 hour before closing. Asked how we were doing once. AMBIANCE: Casual dining. Indoor and outdoor seating. We were the only table the entire time (...if this tells you anything). One pickup order. Service fees not automatically included. Booths, tables, chairs and utensils were dirty. Located in a plaza with a large free private parking lot. Would I come back? Definitely not but now I am definitely excited to try other establishments with Peruvian food.

First time trying Peruvian food and Im already looking forward to the next time I can enjoy it! Think of Peruvian Fuego as a half tapas, half entree kind of menu with fresh and flavorful tastes. I went with the mussel ceviche and pork belly which didn't disappoint. The staff was also attentive and friendly despite the night getting busier!

Peruvian Fuego is a hidden gem that serves up authentic flavors with so much heart and soul. It's a family-owned spot, and you can really feel the love in every dish. José was absolutely wonderful--so kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. We tried the empanada (super flaky and packed with flavor!), the lomo saltado (a little overcooked but perfectly seasoned), sweet plantains, and the appetizer sampler, which had crispy yuca fries, fresh fish ceviche, and potatoes topped with their creamy signature sauce. Everything was chef's kiss--so satisfying and full of flavor. Perfect for a cozy date night. Can't wait to come back and try more! Support small businesses like this one--you won't regret it.

We had a wonderful dinner at Peruvian Fuego. This is a fairly small restaurant in a shopping center with beautiful Peruvian decor; a great spot for a date. My partner and I were promptly seated and the staff were attentive throughout our meal. We ordered a couple of drinks, the Pilsner and chicha morada sour, and the chicha sour was delicious and well balanced. We decided to do various appetizers for food, so we ordered the following: cancha (5/5; a great small app with dried and crunchy corn that comes with great sauce), aguadito soup (5/5; the flavor of the broth was delicious, I added a little lime juice and it was perfect. The chicken and potato included are filling but not very flavorful so I focused on the broth), tamale (5.5/5; possibly the best tamale I've ever had. Amazing flavor and the pickled onions and sauce paired perfectly), chicharron con yucca (4.5/5; very crispy pieces of pork belly with a few yucca fries. Again, the pickled onions were a nice touch. The dish definitely needed the sauce because the main components were both quite dry), mussels ceviche/choros a la chalaca (5/5; very fresh mussels and all of the toppings paired well together. Overall, we had an awesome dinner and every dish was satisfying and tasty.

Came on a perfect summer day and was craving ceviche. Fresh and exactly what I needed. Paired it with a tasty empanada and a refreshing Inca Kola for the perfect combo.

The food and the cocktails were amazing. We had a great server named Sarah. This is one of the best meals I've had in Palm Springs. There are two suggestions that would make the restaurant even better. It would be great to add some plant based proteins to the chaufa such as a tofu. And using impossible burger in one of their top beef dishes would be appreciated. The decor could be improved. The chauffa, ceviche, and drinks were SO tasty!

From service to food, everything was great. Chicha morada was delicious, lomo saltado tender, ceviche fresh, and fried rice I can eat more than I should. Flan to close the deal - just the right amount of sweetness. It's located in an unassuming strip mall with plenty of parking. It is not going to be in the touristy area of the desert, which I kinda like especially when looking for good Peruvian food.

Ordered the lomo and pollo saltado- soooo good! Seasoned perfectly, meat was tender and they were both very tasty. Service was good and it was a pretty chill location. I

Parking is all around the area but can get crowded because of the other places to eat around there, be patient , people are coming and going . All the dishes we tried were delicious. The scallops negro was a good appetizer along with the crab enchiladas which was a decent proportion sized dish . We had to try the "La Super Tabla" . It's quite much for 2 people but with a party of 3-4 , you'll take it down easy. I like everything on this specific dish except the pork belly. It was quite tough to eat, might have been over cooked but it did have flavor , the pieces were kind of hard . The octopus was flavorful and the steak was very tender even though it was cooked well done , we requested medium rare but it was still tender. The calamari was also a tiny bit tough , it was more like a calamari steak, and a tiny bit chewy. The octopus was delicious , soft not chewy and the shrimp was yum. Last but least, the Flan for dessert. Flan is my favorite dessert and the pistachio flan made here was awesome , it's a must try if you have room for dessert . Definitely will be coming back next time I'm in the desert.

From the moment we walked in, there was no host to greet or seat us. We eventually sat ourselves, and right away the atmosphere felt confusing. For a restaurant promoting Peruvian and Cuban cuisine, the ambiance didn't reflect either culture. Instead of Latin music, American rock was playing throughout the restaurant, which took away from the experience. We ordered an appetizer, but no one brought us plates or silverware to enjoy it. I also asked our server if they had chicha morada, a very well-known Peruvian drink. He had no idea what I was referring to, said he would go ask, and never came back with an answer. When our entrées arrived, everyone at the table received their food except me. I waited another 10 minutes, hoping my meal would come out, but it never did. At that point, I told the server to forget it because everyone else had already finished eating. He apologized and offered me a lemonade, saying he wouldn't charge me for it. The problems didn't end there. When the bill arrived, we had been charged for two fettuccine Alfredo dishes totaling $60 items we never ordered. We were also charged for the lemonade that was supposed to be complimentary. To make matters worse, it was my birthday, and the server brought me a small sample of ice cream, saying it was for my birthday to taste. The ice cream was clearly freezer burned, and then we discovered it had been added to the bill as well. Throughout the evening, it felt like the staff had very little direction or training. Before we left, an older woman, who I assume may have been the owner, came over to take a picture of our family, which felt a bit odd considering no one had addressed the many issues we experienced during the meal. This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration, but it ended up being incredibly disappointing. Between the poor service, incorrect bill, lack of attention to detail, and the disconnect between the restaurant's advertised concept and the actual experience, I can't recommend BaBaLoo. I truly hope they make significant improvements because no guest should leave feeling the way we did.

For appetizers, the beer-steamed mussels were a clear standout--packed with flavor. We also loved the tres arepa, which was perfectly crisp and hearty. For mains, the 16oz bone-in rib eye chop was the undeniable winner--juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. On the side, the Brussels fritas were a hit, adding a great crunchy texture to the meal. And for dessert, we were spoiled with two winners: the decadent chocolate souffle and an off-menu surprise, Papa's cinnamon bun, which was a warm, gooey delight.
