Came here after Coachella weekend. My friends and I were in need of recovery soup. There wasn't too many spots for pho around the area so we were glad to find this spot. The service was terribly slow but the servers were friendly. We had to wait a while to be seated but we noticed there were a handful of tables that just needed to be cleared We ordered the veggie egg rolls, veggie spring roll, and all got pho. Their spring roll was a bit pricy for it being veggie and it was the length of my iPhone. Their veggie egg rolls were pretty good but we were bummed they were out of the regular ones. Everytime we've been it's always been a nice experience. It's one of our go to place if we can't figure out what to have. Nothing too fussy but an easy eats. A mixture of Vietnamese and Laos dishes. It's pretty much a mixture of southeast Asian. Restaurant itself isn't that big. There's patio seating out front but I've never seen it been utilize. Inside has a bar area with some bar seating. I believe it's a full bar as some of the cocktails are specialty on the menu. Service has alway been great all the times we've been. Menu has pretty much loads of everything. Your stater of springs rolls, papaya salad, and so on. Mains of course pho with different option, noodles dishes, and pretty much loads of other flavorful dishes. I tend to alway get the same thing whenever we're here. Started off with two cocktails, on of the pink martini which was tasty and strong. One was enough for me. And the other was somewhat of a dragon drink. It was quite tasty. Food, we always get the papaya salad Laos style. That comes with sticky rice and beef jerky. It's a must if you like papaya salad. You could also get it the classic way. And the deluxe pho which comes with all the meats. You can choose two items as the main or add additional for a fee. It's easier to just go with the deluxe. That's come with the bean sprouts, Thai basil and jalapeño slices and lime wedges. Broth is good. Nothing major but still good. Potion is a little smaller than other places. Plus it's one size only as well. Another dish, the beef stew served with baguettes bread for dipping. It was quite tasty. Nice decent chunks of brisket in a flavorful broth with veggies. The food has alway been good. Service is alway excellent and the staff are always so friendly and efficient. It's an easy eats place that does fill you up. Good Vietnamese food. I had the Egg Rolls & Lettuce, and the Classic Spring Rolls. The Egg Rolls & Lettuce were really, crisp and tasty. The fresh lettuce, mint, and cleantro add to the egg rolls flavor. The Classic Spring Rolls were good too. I liked the peanut sauce that goes well with these chewy and fresh spring rolls. The service was great. Got greeted and seated right away. The server was very attentive. The ambiance was a little mixed. Very good dining experience. There was only one server and he covered everything. We were one of two couples when we arrived. But look out here they come. At least 20 people and still he served everyone. We started with spring rolls and a tangy red sauce for dipping. Freshly made and excellent. Then Koi Pba (golden triangle), lightly seared Ahi Tuna, salmon and poached shrimp on an extravagant salad with two sauces and sticky rice. She had beef pho which she raved about. Mango boba finished me off. Beautiful inside with a ceiling of paper lanterns and decorative designs on the walls and ceilings. This is a wonderful restaurant for Vietnamese or Lao cuisine. Cute spot. My husband and I are pho lovers so we were excited to try this place. It was not bad food was tasty. The issue I had was that we felt rushed out. When we arrived it was not busy so we ate our appetizer then we wanted our pho first before we had some drinks. A large group entered and the owner and server were attending them, we tried to flag down the gentleman to order some drinks but instead he brought us our check. My husband said, "we want to order some margaritas".and the man said, "oh it's going to take a long time because we have a large group". Suddenly we didn't matter even though we were there first. I said, it's ok never mind we will pay the bill. If that was my business i would never turn down paying customers. It's a shame because we won't visit this spot again. read more

Nice, pleasant looking restaurant with good service. Partly because I have trouble finding Lao cuisine and partly because it sounded delicious, I ordered the Golden Triangle (koi pa), which is lightly seared tuna, salmon, poached shrimp mixed in kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, fresh chili, cilantro, mint, shallots with tamarind paste, lime juice and fish sauce. This dish had those unique Lao spices I was hoping it would have. They are delicious. I should mention that I ordered this medium, and it came out blazing hot. And bear in mind that I'm someone who has traveled in Thailand twice, and India six times, including Kashmir. In other words, I am used to hot food and love it. But I would say that this dish's "medium" is most people's "hot." There is a free parking structure on the other side of Palm Canyon Drive. Definitely, definitely recommended. The vegan curry noodles are SO GOOD! Ask for them to be very spicy. They use Thai peppers & this adds good heat & flavor. They also have purple mango sticky rice made with coconut milk rather than condensed milk. They add honey but you can just veganize it by asking for it without the honey. Fantastic experience! Our party of four arrived for happy hour, and stayed for dinner. Delicious, homemade food was cheerfully served by friendly staff. The ambiance is unique and spacious. I love spring rolls and I find it really difficult to make them cause it's really hard to roll Rice paper when it's wet and slimy but this place knows how to do it. They offer three different types. They're all good from what I can tell their pho seems to be good although I did not have any everybody seem to enjoy it at the other tables. Highly recommend. read more

I'm half Vietnamese & Lao and am always going to try a Vietnamese and/or Lao cuisine when I visit different towns. This was the first Vietnamese/Lao fusion place I've ever seen and was curious so I decided to try it out. I am usually skeptical of "fusion" places most of the time because I feel like one region always lacks. In this case, both did. My boyfriend & I tried the pho & kapoon, both which I feel are very standard dishes to their respective region. To start, the pho lacked A LOT of flavor. I did not taste any of the spices that are usually found in pho broth (star anise, cardamom, coriander, etc). It honestly just tasted like watered down beef broth. Same issue with the kapoon, tasted watered down and lacked flavor. Honestly pretty disappointed, especially since all the places I ate in Palm Springs lacked so much seasoning & flavor, I was really hoping this one would make up for it. The service was very good, though. Everyone was welcoming and checked up on us multiple times. The ambiance was nice & the place was very spacious. A quaint little restaurant with out door seating right up to the curb. It wasn't busy coming in on Memorial Day after shopping. We did have to wait to be seated, not much wait time at all. Menus and drinks were brought over almost immediately. We were still full from lunch and just needed an app or two. I had parked the car at the public parking by the Hyatt Palm Resort. The restaurant was a few blocks down an easy walk as we continued to shop. It sits on a corner having several window seating options of the street side actions. Not much going on this day. Walking in the dim lighting amidst the modern décor with neon lights was an ambiance to attract a hip young crowd. That wasn't us. We did opt to sit by a window. A good choice indeed. A tv hung in back of a full bar listening to music. Not too loud so we could talk easily. The papaya salad had strips of beef jerky placed on top. A nice crunchy bite. Two dressings came very spicy and semi sweet. Poured these over the white rice was the way to go. The rice absorbed some of the heat while retaining the flavor. This allowed you to take the heat and get a good taste of the flavor fo the sauce, which really makes this dish, with the spaghetti noodle like papaya. Ate the lettuce and chopped cabbage as a separate salad. Fresh it was. An excellent combination. The sausage came on a small plate of two. Cut into 3 pcs each perfect for our party of three to share equally. Included was a spicy sauce, chopped carrots and cilantro with a leaf of lettuce. Meaty and delicious it was nice match with the salad and rice. Mildly spicy and sweet. We will definitely have to have a full meal next time trying more of the menu offerings. read more

We stopped by Palm Springs on our roadtrip and came across this Viet and Lao restaurant and it is a hole in the wall. Definitely a must try if u come to Palm Springs. It's also downtown area so u can walk around after u eat. The service was so nice and very catering. The food was delicious. The pad Thai was flavorful and savory. We got the tofu option and I love the tofu in it. We were also craving banh xeo which is the Vietnamese egg dish and it was delicious. It has pork and shrimp inside and comes with a bunch of veggies. Hard rice. Horrible service. We told the server what was wrong with the food and he told the manager. When we tried to tell the manager he did not apologize or compensate some of the bill. Sir, this was not sticky rice! Drunken noodles does not even use the correct type of noodles. Very greasy and uses Ramen noodle noodles. What kind of drunken noodles is this? more vegetables and meat than noodles. Chicken curry noodles had no curry. It tasted like Tom Yum soup instead. Tasted like freezer chicken. The potstickers were from Costco. Sticky rice was hard as a rock and seemed like steam rice couldn't even form a ball. Jerky was hard that was served along with papaya salad. Mango Boba smoothie was artificial and tasted disgusting along with the Boba inside. All of these plates cost $20 plus and were tiny portion size with more lettuce than the main meal (i.e. larb and papaya salad). Please skip this restaurant!!! Hit Fuzion Five after showing up too early for VillageFest. We were hungry and a party of four. It was crowded, but we were seated right away. The restaurant seemed short-staffed. A person was working the bar and another was covering (seemingly) all the tables. There was a constant flow of people coming in to pick up take out. Some of them customers, some of them probably Door Dashers. There was someone coming out of the kitchen (a cook?) dropping food at tables. The food took a while to arrive, as you might imagine. I was craving something different & saw they had a favorite; Banh Mi. It was lunch time & not busy. I was seated immediately. Place looked super clean. I declined the offered water & someone brought me a glass anyway. The chicken Banh Mi was brought quickly, but, the waiter forgot my coke. This was after we had a discussion about drink options. I asked another for it. The Banh Mi was very good and my Coke was refilled. There was no atmosphere. The other diners were also solo like me. Check was brought and I paid cash. I left a $4 tip on $21. Then, after I returned to the hotel, I saw 20% had already been included and beneath it had "suggested tip" which was intentionally deceptive. Basically, I ended up giving a 40% tip. Will not return and will not recommend because of this deception. read more

Fuzion Five offers up excellent Thai-Lao cuisine right in the heart of of Palm Spring's busy Palm Canyon Drive. We came here for lunch after seeing the crowds coming here the other day. We had a disappointing dinner at 533 Viet Fusion the other day, so we were hankering for some better options for Asian food. The Grilled Salmon was cooked perfectly - soft, juicy, and the garlic ponzu sauce was light and subtle. Lots of places tend to overcook salmon or overwhelm it either sauce. Fuzion's version kept everything well balanced. Our 3yo son ate nearly half of the filet. (5 stars) Thr Khua Mee noodle dish with chicken was the other 5-star dish. Loaded with mushrooms, stir-fried egg noodles, and juicy, flavorful chicken. (5 stars) The Basil Chicken over rice was also solid, and we got it non-spicy to play it safe. Like the other two dishes I loved how they used just enough sauce with ample side of veggies to accompany the chicken (4 stars).
