Decided to go for family style since everything looked so good, so I got to try the yellow curry with tofu, pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, and steamed veggies with fried tofu + peanut sauce. THAI HOUSE RESTAURANT @ PALM SPRINGS Parking is tough in downtown, but there is street parking alongside. I'd also recommend routing to the Rowan Hotel, there is a huge plaza for 3 hour free parking every day, it's the best and we parked there! My friends and I were walking around downtown Palm Springs and decided to stop by this Thai restaurant. They had their menu displayed outside with classic dishes like Pad Thai and fried rice that looked super delicious, so we decided to give it a try. We chose to sit outside since it felt more lively. The inside is a bit older and not very renovated, more of a small, family-owned spot, which adds to its charm. If you can, I'd definitely recommend sitting outdoors for a better atmosphere. I ordered the Pad See Ew, which was around $20, and my friend got the duck curry for $27. The food came out within about 10 minutes, steaming hot and freshly made. My Pad See Ew was incredible, the noodles were soft and flavorful, the chicken was tender, and the spice level was just right. The quality was great overall, and I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Palm Springs. Prices are a little higher since it's located right on the main street downtown, but the portions were generous. The service was decent, our server didn't check in often, but she was kind and welcoming. One small note: when my friend asked for a to-go box, one of the staff members asked if she didn't like the food, which felt a little awkward. Popped in here for dinner since the taco spot I wanted to try was closed and this was a close option. I wasn't sure what to expect from a Thai restaurant in Palm Springs but it was solid! It was busy on a Friday night but we were seated pretty quick. It's got a casual diner type of feel and is located not far from downtown. They have a good selection of Thai dishes and it seemed a bit pricey to me but the portion size was pretty good. I ordered a pad see ew and it was solid. This isn't my first rave review, and it won't be my last. The food is consistently excellent, with generous portions that leave you satisfied in every way. Standouts from our most recent visit last Saturday include the Pad See Ew, which is hands-down the best rendition we've had; crispy egg rolls; flavorful potstickers; and the rich tom kha soup in coconut broth--everything hit the spot perfectly. Service here always feels like a warm hug, and even without "Mommy" (who was home tending to her grandchildren), Panadda stepped up seamlessly. The Food was served hot fresh, and very timely. While the food was delicious, we found the owner to be friendly interesting and engaging. I visited Thai House Restaurant on a Thursday evening with a group of 4 of us. We were quite hungry from a long day, and this restaurant looked to be the place to hit the spot. When we arrived, there were only 4-5 tables with customers sitting at them. None of them had food, so I guessed that they were all about to be leaving soon. Since we were starving, we thought this is perfect! We will get our food so quick! This is a pretty small mom & pop restaurant, the type where you have to walk through their kitchen to get to the restroom in the back. Our servers and the staff were very friendly & courteous. They came, took our orders, and got our drinks out pretty quickly. And then things took a bit of a turn for the worse. I watched as food started coming out of the kitchen to see that those 4-5 tables were all still waiting on food. Dishes were coming out very slowly. It was as if the kitchen team worked on one table at a time. It took approximately 1.5 hours before our food ever came out. As it came out, I asked the server about possibly ordered some food to go, and how long it would take. She said "1 hour." The food was not bad at all. In fact, I'd say it was really good. I guess I just expected the food to be a bit more impressive given the amount of time they took to prepare it. There were two people in the kitchen, so maybe this was just an off night or they were short handed or maybe they just got a lot of orders in at the exact same time. I'm not sure. But overall, an excessively long amount of time waiting for food. It's worth a visit, but I'd just inquire about the possible wait time prior to ordering. read more

Tiny little place on Palm canyon blvd. You can park in the structure for free and walk over. We got the angel wings and Penang curry and pad see ew. We went here on a Thursday night, which was during Villagefest. So it felt busier than usual. We ordered the Thai fried rice, spicy fried rice, pad see eww and Thai basil. The food took about hour to get out. Everything was hot and fresh. But my fried rice was ok, it was slightly mushy. Everything else tasted pretty good. My friend actually wanted to order something to go, and they said it'll be an hour wait. Nah. No thanks. The restroom though, was not ideal. To access it you have to go through the back, past their front counter, it almost felt like you were going through a kitchen. The door is very tough to open, you almost have to use your shoulder push inside. Only 1 of 3 light bulbs work, so it felt like a horror movie scene. A restroom should never be dim. Overall, the was experience is was ok. I wouldn't come back, because didn't have any WOW factors. read more

The server/host even showed us exactly where we would be sitting. While we were waiting, another large party arrived. When our table became available, that group argued that they had arrived first, even though they clearly had not. Despite knowing this, the server/host gave our table to the other family. To make matters worse, the other family surrounded me as I spoke to the server/host and insisted the table was theirs. My new PS favorite Thai! This is a small restaurant and easy to pass by. Thai House Restaurant is located next to Las Casuelas Terraza just to give you a point of reference. There is indoor and covered patio seating that faces the mountain (out of direct sun). The menu posted outside does not have prices which I thought was interesting. The curry was $16.95 and seafood combo was $23, just to give you an idea of pricing. Beer, wine and sake is alcohol menu. The service was very attentive and friendly. Came in during artisan's night. Ordered an order of egg rolls and the pad Thai. Egg rolls were good, but clearly frozen and premade. Almost enough sweet and sour sauce to get through them. The pad Thai came out with no veggies and super bland. I tried to start working through it but finally pushed it away. When she finally came around, I told her about it. Due to the reason wanna help 'small business' we were dining at this place when we visited Palm Springs. The waitress took an order for us, and as you can see from picture, that was the ordered. Reviews of each menu: 1. Som Tam / Papaya Salad: the taste was fine however it is overpriced, over $16 for salad?? Additionally picture/portion is deceiving because there were lettuce for whatever reason to make the portion look puffy underneath. 2. Pad See Ew: For over $17 ($1 extra for beef) the portion it TOO little, and the taste is decent. 3. Green Curry w/ Pork: portion is fine for us - the taste - we expect thicker coconut milk taste 4. Tom Yam Chicken Soup: Soup tasted super basic - more herbs will make this soup better 5. Pad Thai: there is no picture of Pad Thai unfortunately but this is the most menu that caused I drop so many stars. So we were still hungry (party of 4) since the portion is not that big, so we looked the table next to us and saw the Pad Thai is in big portion, so we decided to add one more menu when we were about to finish our meal. And guess what?! The Pad Thai arrived with half of the portion. We are super surprised and in awe, there is INCONSISTENCY on the portion, so did Pad See Euw for guest who came after us from bigger table was bigger. And we get charged the same. The other annoying part is the waitress bragged that her Pad Thai is the best in town. That statement should actually come from us or other customer and not her. I have been eating all types of Thai Food and I can tell the quality of the food and this one is was below standard, added with the stingy portion when you get charged higher than average meals! I'm not sure how this place has a 4 star review as it was very misleading for me when I went based on the rating. The restaurant was loud and I know they cannot control the volume of their customers but I couldn't even have a conversation with the people at my table. The food was oddly raw or undercooked which lead to my added dislike. We ordered wonton soup and it had broccoli and carrots that were so raw it was as if they tossed them in without giving them time to soften. I've had bok choy in wonton soup but never broccoli so maybe I was just not used to this style but then we got out pad Thai and the noodles were very hard and chewy (not crunchy though). I got invited here for lunch last minute with a few friends. I love Thai food and have never been here. Let me just say, it's the real deal! When they ask, how spicy would you like it, take it on the lower side! lol We started with the Tom Kha which was full of flavor and a great starter! Creamy, spicy and just really good! Then I got the Phu Jaa that was another great appetizer for the table. It was great! Everyone loved it! Then I got the spicy fried rice with shrimp and beef and it was a huge portion and also full of flavor. They have plenty of spices you can add to your entrée so definitely keep it conservative on your order. Overall I was very impressed with the Thai food here. It was the best I've had! I Ordered To Go here on Monday afternoon a yellow curry with rice and peanut sauce. It was ready in like 10 mins and the lady who checked me out was very kind. The curry was just nothing special, honestly a little bland compared to other ones I've had before. If you get Thai curry often enough you know they typically ask what spice level you'd like 1-10 and this place didnt which should've made me think twice. It was also incredibly small for the price compared to what I get back home in San Diego. The peanut sauce was pretty good, a little watery but had good flavor and I appreciate that it was free most places charge for that. Not bad overall but not great either. read more
