This a hidden treasure of gourmet Thai cuisine. I enjoyed the Pad Ka Pow and it surpassed my expectations! The seasoning was perfect and the blend of vegetables was superb. My wife ordered the green curry with shrimp and simply enjoyed the mild heat and complex seasoning. We were traveling through Athens while on vacation when we first discovered Thai Paradise and we are planning a second visit on the way home from vacation. We will be back!! read more

I visited this restaurant on Saturday night. It was busy but we were greeted and seated promptly. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The menu was very nice. Many selections that sounded so good. I choose the spring roll and crab Rangoon as an appetizer. I choose hot flavored sake to drink. The sake arrived in a carafe steaming hot. It was indescribably delicious. Hint of a butterscotch taste. Simply delicious. The spring roll with plum sauce was the best I have had. So crispy and filled with fresh veggies. The crab Rangoon was also very good. I ordered island chicken with brown rice for my entree. It was also very very good. The chicken was tender and delicious. The brown coconut sauce was incredible. I cannot express in words how wonderful this meal tasted. And was presented. Our waiter was exceptional. The atmosphere and decor was lovely. My friend and I both just loved Thai Palace and we cannot wait to go again in two weeks when we will be back in Athens. Do not hesitate to visit this little hidden gem. Great! My first time there. Was very favorably impressed with the wait staff and the cuisine. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. Food was flavorful as well as artfully presented. Lukas G. served a friend and I for dinner. He made a great recommendation for the sticky rice, very very sticky indeed. I had the flank steak Thai entree while my friend had the other steak like vinaigrette entree. Both very very good. Lukas also recommended the roasted coconut and it happened to be some of the best coconut I've had in all my years. For desert we were told fried banana w/ ice cream was good, and darn it it was! We thought we'd just get a banana, but no, the bananas were cut and fried into 6 pieces. Banana balls if you will. The vanilla ice cream was complimented with chocolate sauce and caramel. I did not expect such a dessert at Thai Paradise. Overall, a pleasant surprise, all thanks to Lukas. Good job. Will recommend and return. read more

Tom Kha tasted like cream of mushroom soup. No fresh vegetables to be found. Papaya salad was fishy tasting with no citrus to cut the taste of the fish sauce. Chicken Lab was consistency of and tasted like tuna fish salad on lettuce. So very disappointing and VERY EXPENSIVE almost $40 for 2 people. The owner did ask if we liked our food as she took away barely touched plates. When we said no, she shrugged and walked away. Very nice decor... not so great food. read more

Great food, but AWFUL service! Went on the second night being open. Multiple orders came out wrong, and when we complained the manager, she just stood there and smiled at us. Good food and good service, HOWEVER, on the menu it clearly states that all fountain drinks, iced teas, and hot teas have unlimited refills. So with that being said I ordered a Thai Iced Tea and when I asked the server for another glass she proceeded to inform me that there was a fee associated with the Thai Iced Teas if I wanted any refills. Thai Paradise use to be one the best restaurants in town, but it has changed management and Bo is gone and so is Thai Paradise's superb service. I normally get my Friday lunch here but today and last week the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. I had ordered the spicy eggplant and it use to be firm baby eggplants cooked gently so it was still firm but not today, it is soggy and no crispness. The wonton soup is extremely salty. Made a afternoon trip from Marietta for the Farmers Market and lunch . The food is great and also the service.

Called in to make a reservation at 8, arrived 10 minutes early to make sure we get a good table, and turns out they actually don't actually take reservations even though we had confirmation that we did. Service was slow, pad Thai was sweet and had way too much peanut flavor I couldn't even finish it. Calamari was good and so was the beer, that's about it. read more

I have gone to Thai Paradise multiple times. The service has always been at least good, and sometimes is outstanding. The Tom Kah Gai soup is DELICIOUS. The Tom Yum does not taste like any I've ever had and lacks depth of flavor. The Drunken Noodles are delicious. I've had Pad Thai and it is average. The Larb Gai was not very good. I will keep going and keep trying different dishes, because we need Thai in Athens!!! One thing that would be beneficial is label the Gluten-Free dishes. Thanks. read more

We went down to Athens to visit my daughter and her boyfriend yesterday and went for dinner. Everything was outstanding! The spring rolls were the best I have ever had, stuffed with veggies, crispy and hot with delicious plum sauce to dip them in...My daughter and her boyfriend are vegetarians and had the pad thai with tofu. It looked amazing and they said it was delicious. My son had General Tso's. The broccoli and carrots were so colorful! I tried a bite~I can say it was the best General Tso's I have had in a long, long time! His girlfriend had the Drunken Noodles. It is a dish I have never had before, but it was outstanding, very flavorful! My husband had the Himmapan Chicken. The garlic chili sauce was excellent and the fried chicken was sooooo tender. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan. It was loaded with crisp not overly cooked/steamed vegetables, the chicken was very tender, and the Mandarin white sauce was light yet flavorful. I don't think I have been to a restaurant where I have left knowing that I would order everything that everybody at the table had had that night. Easily! Our server, I believe her name was Elli, was awesome as well. ! She was on top of everything, never rolled her eyes at how many drink refills we asked for, and was and very fast! I have always raved about Thai Paradise to everyone I know, because the food is delicious and the service is great. But last night was a disaster! It was our anniversary dinner, and we went there to celebrate. The server was at our table in no time for our drink order, and brought it promptly. But it took a long time for someone to take our dinner order. There were a half dozen servers bustling around, and it wasn't very busy. But it took FOR-FREAKING-EVER for our meals to arrive, and the quality had definitely changed. The spring rolls used to be so light and delicate, you'd think they were made by angels, but these were half the size, and the wrap was doughy and hard to eat. Then I ordered the Himmipan Chicken, which is my favorite. The original dish was very mild and delicious, but someone had dumped a whole bottle of spice in this one, and I couldn't eat it. I complained to our server (who also is the manager), and her response was "I came around a couple of times to ask how you were doing, and you said fine. If you had a concern, you should have brought in up then." So, apparently, it was MY fault because I didn't say anything earlier! Definitely no more raves from me, and I don't know if we'll bother going back there!!! read more

We travel a lot, and I've gotten to the point that when I try a new restaurant, I'm prepared to be disappointed. Not so here! The food was fresh and delicious, and perfectly cooked which is unusual when the dish includes scallops and calamari. It beats our favorite Thai restaurant in D. C. hands down. read more

I LOVE the food! It is the best Thai food in Athens. I go at least twice a month. The most recent time was last Saturday. My boyfriend got pad Thai, (which he loves!) and I got sesame chicken with white rice. We got it to go. I was missing my white rice and my boyfriends meal was missing his peanuts and lime. (Which according to him is a staple in Thai food because of the spice) this was frustrating because in August I ordered war su gai and my sauce was not given to me. I appreciate it they comped the order and I was able to get the correct thing. However I did not get the sauce and couldn't eat my lunch that day. I called immediately on Saturday to tell them and they said we could come pick up the items. Well being that we were already home, I didn't want to leave again. They said they would have the GM call me. Well no one called, so I called back and Wednesday and an employee said yes I see the note right here, they must not be here because of the holiday. Well I called again today, the general manager Rashi, (spelling) was extremely argumentative. And had said they would not comp anything that they see where they messed up previously but she wouldn't do anything. She offered 10% off the next order and at the end of the conversation offered a $5 gift card on a $30 order. However I couldn't use both I had to chose one to use. I kid you not when I had to talk her for seven minutes on the phone. She said she was the owners wife. I'm sorry, but that to me is awful customer service. Especially because I go there so often. I love Thai food. I live in Chicago, so there are Thai restaurants everywhere, and I've tried my fair share of them. My parents wanted to take me here, and I can easily say that this is one of the best Thai places I've been to! Very generous portions - one meal is usually enough for leftovers the next night. Be aware that they don't serve wine on Sundays. Just wish they'd bring back the steamed dumplings! read more

For starters, we waited for 20 minutes for someone to come over to us to get our drink order taken. After asking us if we wanted lemon in our waters, she didn't bring us any. We put our order in but had been waiting for so long we decided to step outside for a minute. With our full drinks & belongings still at the table, they began clearing our table making us feel unwelcomed. The waitress wasn't even apologetic about the terrible service & didn't try to compensate at all. Definitely won't be dining in there anymore but would consider getting take out because the food was great, the people who work there aren't. I had a terrible experience at this restaurant and unfortunately was unable to even try the food. I called ahead to see what time they served lunch til. I spoke to a foreign lady and had to repeat myself 3 times before she understood me and said 4pm. I went there only to receive the dinner menu and when I asked about the lunch menu they said they do not do the lunch menu on the weekends. I explained that I drove 30 minutes to get there and was told on the phone prior that they served lunch till 4pm and asked if I could receive the lunch prices. They told me they were sorry that they messed up but they would not give me the lunch prices. I myself work in the food industry and have for years and know that the customer is generally right, especially in a case like this. The restaurant should have given me the lunch prices because it was their fault that their employee messed up and told me the wrong information. It's a shame I will never give this restaurant a try because of the way management poorly handled a situation that was clearly their fault. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
