My wife and I decided to have dinner at Thai Place and our meals and service were fantastic. There are SO many restaurants to choose from in this area and we were looking for a healthy meal. We were pleased! The restaurant is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. We were seated promptly and our food arrived quickly after we ordered. I had Pra Ram with shrimp and it was delicious. The portion size was generous. The restaurant is comfortable and clean. The restrooms were also clean. The food was reasonably priced and my wife and I had dinner for $42. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Ordered a quick pick-up meal on the way back from work. I ordered the chicken Pad See Ew. It was really affordable and they give you a huge lunch portion for $10. I wish it was a little bit more saucier, the noodles started to dry out in the middle of my meal. This place definitely had a lot of people dining in and coming in and out. Thai Place has been around for many years. I keep coming back for the nostalgia, but there are better Thai places in town. I usually get the black pepper garlic tofu. The tofu is always fried crisp and to perfection, but there is a lack of depth on the sauce. Many years ago, the flavor of this dish was unparalleled, but it hasn't been great for a while. We also ordered the edamame and calamari appetizers. The edamame was super oily and was also lacking in flavor. The calamari was light and crisp, but the dipping sauce was not a great compliment to the dish. The server forgot to put in my daughter's order, so her food came out very late and she was not impressed. She ordered an appetizer sampler as her meal and only enjoyed the chicken satay. My mom and brother ordered fried rice dishes that were average. Unfortunately, this last visit will probably be my last. There are simply too many other places that have better Thai food in the area. read more

Me and my friends LOVED this place! We actually ended up there by mistake! Meaning that we had driven to two other Thai restaurants in the nearby area but walked out, one had zero people there, not a good sign! And the other had no running water! Another, not a good sign! We stumbled across THAI PLACE as we were driving by and decided to try them out. I had the Pineapple rice and it was DELICIOUS! But the thing that impressed me and my friends the most! Was the AMAZING! PHENOMENAL service that our server gave! Judit was as good as they come! U could tell that she was a foodie by her amazing knowledge of the menu and her description of the taste and ingredients in the food, she was soooo impressive! And very , very pleasant and attentive! This is a cute Thai place in Winter Park which I had never visited before. It was a nice and quiet restaurant which we also appreciated as we were on a date night with no kids. My husband and I were seated immediately and our server was really nice. We had the dumplings for an appetizer which were very tasty. I did the Drunken Noodles for my entree which was delicious and my husband did the Thai Place Rice which was good but he said it was a little bland. I enjoyed a nice glass of Pinot Noir with my meal and my husband had a Singha with his. read more

Visited Thai Place Winter Park last night for the first time with my mom who is in town from Alaska. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here!!! June was our server, she was so pleasant and on top of her game. The manager/owner? came by to check on us to make sure we were happy with our food. The steamed shrimp dumpling were so good. The spicy garlic edamame very tasty. The drunken noodle was on point. The wonton soup was too. I wasn't a huge fan of their wings but the sauce was tasty. They put crunchy fried garlic on most of their stuff which adds a great flavor and texture. Also, I just love garlic. Fried banana with coconut ice cream was great too. For this level of service and quality food, the prices are good. I will visit again! I want to try the curry next time. read more

Prettyyyy good I'd say! Just ordered takeout- got the green curry "thai hot", pad thai medium heat, papaya salad medium, and the spring rolls. Spring rolls didn't have much flavor but everything else brought me back to Bangkok . Very happy they season the food with the spice level you would find in actual Thailand. We have been to other thai joints in the area that cater to the western palette and we ain't about that life lol. We loved the flavors used here and will be back for sure. read more

Pretty good it is your traditional Thai food. Ordered one of the curries and it was delicious hairy and the courses are just the right size. Though, a little more rice would be nice because there's not enough to feel fully full and you wanna absorb all that good Thai sauce. Other than that I would definitely go back if I was nearby am feeling it. read more

I've been patronizing Thai Place for many years and I'm happy to say that the food is as consistently great as it's always been. Every appetizer, soup or entree I've ever tried has been delicious. My only complaint is that they took their amazing tofu summer rolls off the menu. When I asked if they could make one, I was told they could not, but suggested a vegetarian summer roll. I ordered it, but without any protein, it was rather one-dimensional and not worth the price. I will continue to eat at Thai Place, but I'll also continue to miss my favorite appetizer. read more

5 stars for tasty thai food. Wasn't crazy about the hot sake. However i'm picky with my sake. The drunken noodle is always a safe pick, but i had a lot of fun with the pineapple chicken and shrimp fried rice. Nothing was overbearing. Had the perfect amount of sweetness. Service was good. We were surprised to see all the changes since the last time here. They aren't quite finished with the renovations which we didn't expect. After asking our server about it, she said they should be finished in the next week or so. There were no decorations or blinds on the windows yet either making it feel more like a cafeteria. But the food is delicious and served hot as always. The full bar is nice for a Thai restaurant too. We were told a new menu is coming too. The location for this restaurant is unusual and hidden from the main busy street. You'll need to drive into the shopping complex to find it, and will have no problem with parking there. Upon entry , the restaurant is spacious and clean. It looks like they've had a renovation recently. The servers were friendly and attentive. We went on the weekend during lunch time and they weren't too busy. This allowed for our food to come out quickly which was great since I was starving. Their thai coffee is delicious and sweet. It is served as an iced coffee and I believe they use condensed milk. If you are familiar with the candy kopiko, it tastes very similar to that which is delicious. The Tom yum came out first, and it was the perfect mix of sweet and sour with a little bit of a kick of spice. Reminds me back of my travels to Thailand. Very authentic tasting. The chicken satay was also soft and tender when bitten into. I only wish they had peanut pieces in the satay sauce to give it a bit more texture. We added beef to the pad Thai, and it was delicious. Not too sweet, and freshly cooked rice noodles. Adding the Lime juice all over the dish and mixing it together always tops it off. The finale with the penang curry and chicken was spectacular. We adjusted the spice level to hot which was the perfect kick to the dish. There is also the hottest option which was Thai hot, maybe another day when I'm feeling ambitious. read more

Ate at Thai place on a week day night at 6pm. There were about 3 other tables eating and customers coming in and out to pick up take out. Service was great and we got all of our orders quickly. We especially liked their Thai old fashioned cocktail with included lychee! It was very tasty and a fun addition. Steamed veggie potstickers and shrimp dumplings were plump and delicious. I got the green curry medium with Tofu and it was flavorful and a sizable portion. My boyfriend got the pad se ew hot with beef and he really enjoyed it. I have been to Thai Place a few times now and the food is consistently stellar! I've eaten their tofu pad thai in the past and it was very delicious. Today I tried their seafood massaman curry and their limited time Thai sunset cocktail and I loved them both! Truly nothing better than a delicious bowl of Thai curry and I would reccomend trying it out! Nice ambience, busy place but mediocre food perhaps. Only had shrimp pad Thai since it had a high review, thought that basic dishes like pad Thai would be good but it was so disappointing. Sweet like donuts and when I asked for condiments to offset the sweetness, they brought pepper shake and squeeze bottle of pepper sauce. I gave up immediately and realized that this place is totally Americanized and should refrain from calling themselves Thai place. I then asked the waitress for more options for spice she said that was it. I continued with my petition to address that it was overly sweet, she then said oh because we put tamarind . Obviously she has no clue how perfect pad Thai is combination of the sweet, savory and saltiness so again gave up. I'm glad I don't live or work in the area but avoid this place if you like authentic Thai food and instead go for Panda Express for their at least honest attempts for their identity. read more

It belongs in the trash, worst Thai food ever I've been eating Thai food for years, this restaurant gave me the worst experience in Thai food. The Pad Thai was spoiled, the chicken was old or rotten, the noodles were over cooked and didn't have no taste, also no peanuts anywhere. I've been here a few times since and ordered MANY to-go food ... because let's be honest .. who doesn't dream about this food... !! I can't stop myself from coming again and again. 4 stars for good entrees and table service. With Thai on the mind and a number of places to choose from the "Thai" list, the family tried this location not far from home. We were seated quickly this Saturday evening with a party of 4 and we sat for a few minutes before our friendly server greeted us and took our order. The summer rolls arrived with great presentation - a full basil leaf wrapped in plain view. Unfortunately, the wrap itself was not much beyond the fresh mint and basil. The freshness was wonderful but the lack of flavor was noticeable. The peanut sauce was the main enhancing element here and was solid without being overly sweet. For my entree, Pad See Ew caught my eye as a new dish to try out and I was not disappointed. The food arrived hot and plentiful. Rice noodles, beef (you can choose other meats), broccoli, carrots and brown sauce all were cooked to perfection and were satisfying to the taste buds. I need to also add that you can add "heat" to the sauce and mine was made to order. The staff did not visit much during the meal, so, if we had additional needs, we might have waited too long. As it was, our food arrived as we requested so we were "low-maintenance" this evening. A solid place for Thai, but with other options in the area, I want to keep working on down the list. read more
