Wanted Thai so decided to try this place. We ordered fresh rolls, satay, yellow curry and Princess noodles. The curry was ok, the satay and rolls meh. The princess noodle dish was a nasty disaster. In the container was a slimy pad of noodles stuck together with veggies on top and peanut sauce poured over. Have you heard of stirring?? The peanut sauce was gelatinous and not very good. I ordered chicken fried rice and it was good/okay. But the server not only forgot my extra side of rice that was ordered but gave terrible service . Ordered stir fried green curry with beef, with no bell pepper. The server repeated "no bell pepper". Not only is my order VERY small, only half the container, not only is there no indication that it's stir fried, it's loaded with bell pepper! When I called back, she told me she thought I somehow meant only green peppers. Not only is that absolutely not what I said, the curry STILL has green peppers in it! Even if I HAD somehow meant only to exclude green peppers it still failed! Imagine if someone was allergic and asked for an ingredient to be excluded only to be met with a dish they physically can't eat without putting themselves in danger. My FAVORITE Thai restaurant in Hillsboro. I often come here to pick up lunch. I can call in my order and pick up within 15 minutes, usually 10. My favorite dishes here are the pad kee mao, pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice. I love that they have a lunch special pricing for some of my favorite dishes. Also very delicious Thai iced coffee!! My friend and I were looking for a place to eat after blueberry picking in the area and came by Thai Princess Restaurant and decided to give them a try. From their menu, I ordered a thai iced tea, salad rolls, and their hot & spicy noodles. Thai iced tea was cold and refreshing. Salad rolls were delicious with their peanut dipping sauce. The sauce was probably the star of the dish, it was warm and felt original and homemade. Would have gladly devoured 2 platters of this. What really fell short for me was the hot & spicy noodles. While the flavor was fine and the dish was complimented with lots of vegetables, I couldn't really get by all the liquid in the dish... From what I remembered, the menu did indicate that the dish was stir fried, so I wasn't exactly expecting the dish to turn out soupy like it did. There was also no spice whatsoever despite the name. Yay free soup for lunch! I got the Phad Basil with pork, which was alright- a bit on the sweeter and saltier side for me. Just didn't like how there was a lot of black specks/carbon in my food from cooking in the wok. Had to keep picking them out. My coworkers really like this place, and they love the egg rolls (make sure to add the clear orange sauce to go with it). I have dined at Thai Princess a number of times in the past. I remember the food as being decent but not as good as many other Thai places in the area. To be honest, I wasn't planning to come here today. But when my plans for a nearby restaurant went south, Thai Princess was at least familiar. When we walked in, the place was packed and looked like the cafeteria at Intel. There were blue badges dangling on everyone. We managed to acquire the only remaining vacant table. I wasn't kidding when I said it was packed. It was noisy too. People were talking shop loudly. I ordered pad kee mao and my friend ordered their lunch special pumpkin curry. The complimentary soup arrived quickly. It was just as I remembered it, rice and tofu in a light broth. It was lukewarm and needed pepper....or something. My friend thought our food took too long to arrive. But as the crowd started to leave our food appeared. It was decent. The servers did a great job taking care of everyone. After today's visit I can say that Thai Princess is still decent and familiar. But there are many other Thai restaurants in the area that are far better. read more

I went on another ordering platform as well as their website and they are still accepting orders. Now I have no food and my lunch hour is coming to an end. If they are going to cancel, don't accept the order and make sure that the customer gets this information asap. Came here to a birthday celebration during the week. About 6 pm. The place was empty except for another couple. We were a party of six. The wonton soup was ample and enjoyed by the under 18 year olds. Not spicy, otherwise the 11 year old wouldn't have eaten it. The two youngsters really enjoyed their soup. For them, I also ordered the sampler of appetizers. Good call. Crunchy and made the kids happy. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and the green curry with pork to share. The food comes family style, generous portions, yayyyy. The rice was fluffy and as good as you get in Los Angeles, which is where I was visiting from. I had asked for mild, but the green curry was too spicy to share. And to me, too many bamboo shoots, not enough pork. Pad Thai with chicken looked right and the birthday girl loved it...and always orders it as it's her favorite dish. PRO: No waiting to be seated. Good food with correct flavors. Not longer than a 15 minute wait for food to be on our table. Decent service, not overly attentive, but our glasses were refilled. CON: No free birthday dessert, no candle atop anything, no bday song. I had informed the waitress about the birthday prior to seating, and at that time, she should have told me there's no free birthday dessert...instead of waiting until after the meal. Thai Princess has the best Yellow Curry in town! The serving is large, enough for leftovers, with plenty of delicious chicken in every bite. I've tried the yellow curry at a few other places in Hillsboro and in Portland, but this is the only one around that compares to LA style yellow curry. I order it medium spice without onions and it's flavorful without being too spicy, perfect on a cold rainy day! Order online and it's ready for pickup quickly. I had hoped! Living in Hillsboro there is a lack of Thai choices. This was my second time stopping in. The first time I stood in front of the register for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. So I left giving them the slack they had a couple customers. This time I was the only customer in the place. I ordered 3 items Tom Kah soup, crab fried rice and pad-kee-mao with chicken. The soup was decent, that's the only reason for the second star. The pad-kee-mao was flavorless. No spice no seasoning. The crab fried rice was reheated from who knows when. I brought it home and there were warm and colds spots through our food. It too lacked flavor. Now that I reflect on my time there, no smells came out of the kitchen. My intuition tells me they are about to close the doors and are hanging on by cooking large batches and just reheating the food. read more

I gave this Thai restaurant a try based on Yelp and I am glad that I did. The food was very tasty and in my opinion one of the best Thai places around. The menu may not be as extensive as Thai Orchid up the road, but the flavor of the food is better here. Had the cashew chicken and phad thai on this visit and both were excellent. I plan on many more visits in the future. I went for dinner in the middle of the week. The place wasn't busy and service was OK, nothing spectacular. The location isn't the best and I agree with another review about the smoke from the bar next door. Got an occassional whiff of smoke, but that could be remedied by a different table I think. They are not consistent with their order sizes. Three days ago, I ordered three sides of Jasmine rice and three sides of peanut sauce, for pickup. My rice was combined into one container. As was the peanut sauce. Today, I ordered two sides of Jasmine Rice & three sides of peanut sauce. Again, combined the sides into one each. In addition, the peanut sauce that I got was half the size of the one I got last time. A time before these two, I ordered for pickup. I ordered an actual dish. And asked for Jasmine Rice with it. And three extra sides of peanut sauce, which came to $3.50 for the sauce. When I got there, I paid for my order and as she was handing it to me, she tells me they are out of Jasmine Rice and gave me brown rice instead. Brown rice is not what I ordered. I ordered Jasmine Rice, and the extra peanut sauce because I like the peanut sauce on my rice. I don't like brown rice and I certainly don't like my peanut sauce with brown rice. So, I paid full price, $16 for something that I would eat half of, because I did not have the Jasmine Rice. NOT acceptable. Did not even offer to refund part of my money. Or a coupon for next time. Nothing. No apology of any sort OH! And today, the guy was caulking something, during open business hours, while customers were there. There was a horrible smell from it. And instead of putting it down and attending to me right away, I had to wait about 5 minutes before he came over and helped me. Right when I walked into the restaurant, servers do not greet nor guide me to my table. I stood by the entrance for a good solid 10 minutes. (They were not busy. Only 3 other customers were there.) When ordering foods, servers expressed overwhelmed and in need to go elsewhere, without giving you a chance to finish telling them what else foods you want to order. I have been coming here several times for lunch and dinner. I enjoy the Spicy Catfish here the most among dishes I have tried. It has very good flavor and the basic ingredients needed for the dish. My Thai friends like it as well. Some dishes could be off for Thais though; meaning too Americanized. The ambience looks pretty nice but dated. Service is on the low side in my experience as just good enough without anything above and beyond minimum. So, try the Spicy Catfish if you come here. Simple place for simple dinner. Lunch on the weekday could be packed since it is one of a few Thai restaurants in the vicinity. They seem to do well on takeouts for dinner than dine in generally. Lightning fast service. A very hidden unassuming restaurant with good food. With a thai restaurant on every other block here in Oregon, this is a good local spot to go to in Hillsboro. Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable, and they have a nice selection of chili sauce and peppers upon request. If you are in for lunch you will get a complimentary soup that is surprisingly delicious. I wouldn't call this the best Thai place around, but i haven't tried better. read more

I'll just smother it in peanut sauce (which I asked for, because theirs came with sweet/sour sauce). So it was good. The Pad Garlic, with a bowl of white or brown rice, sounds excellent. It was pretty good. I honestly felt there wasn't enough garlic. The pork wasn't chewy. Good amount of vegetables. I had just spooned some pad garlic on my plate when a couple airing out dirty laundry was seated right in front of me. The lady was crying here and there, while talking about her anxiety and alcoholism. This, in conjunction with the creeper at the bar, was too much for me. Not the restaurant's fault. I just wished I was sitting elsewhere. When I received my bill, I couldn't tell you why it was worth $20.40. This is my main problem. Honestly, I'd rather go to Panda Express, save some cash & not get stared at. The quality of the food isn't bad. It's just a bit expensive.
