Love the fact that whatever your dietary choices are, they can accommodate an array of options with their menu variety. From Gluten free to Vegan they have you covered. Did I already mention the flavor?? Wow!! I'm such a sucker for a good peanut sauce and this one I could literally bathe in. I always order a side of peanut sauce so I can slather it on everything and anything I order. We started with the Crab Rangoon's that were beautifully presented to us. Spice level 4 is legit spicy and my son loved it! He thoroughly enjoyed the Roasted Duck Curry with Jasmine rice. Thailander is a little restaurant in the old Java Mama space, tucked between Petsmart and Mio Sushi. It is in a busy shopping center and the parking is terrible. There are about ten tables and the kitchen is open so you can see and hear the cooks banging pots around. It is worth the headache of braving the lot. They serve some jazzed up Thai dishes, interesting lunch combinations, the service is friendly, and it is pretty typical in terms of price. My teen gives the Angel rolls ( tofu salad rolls served with a good peanut sauce) and the Thai iced tea a big heck yes endorsement. The Pad Thai, Yellow Curry with tofu (no onions or peppers for my kiddo) and Chicken Satay also scored big points. I have enjoyed their various curries and noodle dishes. One time I was sick and a bowl of wonton soup and an icy mango juice did the trick. Also the crispy chicken nugget things are pretty good. They offer 4 spice levels, medium spice is perfect for me. I wasn't sure about the napa cabbage in my Pad see ew and the Tom Kha soup seemed off and was a little too different for me. Some of their special smashups ( pad Thai burrito anyone?, fries with shrimp and Thai flavors piled on top??) and unique flavors can be interesting and a fun change. Anyways, the kitchen was half open and there were seats/tables for 2-4 people or so in an L shape. So, it was a little crowded as the restaurant was small. Server: he was BUSY. one person serving and doing everything in the front and I think one main chef and someone in the back prepping. Either way, busy but over all nice. Food: I always try to eat something "normal" or "common" if it's my first time going. I got pad thai noodles with tofu for $9 (lunch menu). Portion was okay. They gave me lots of fried tofu. The noodles were mushy and yet...hard to chew? How do I say it...maybe the sauce was mushy and thick and then the noodles were hard to bite and were suppper long. The sauce was too sweet for me. Usually will order food online and pickup, but today we sat down and enjoyed a nice meal. The atmosphere is fun and inviting! I am vegan, my partner is not, but there were plenty of options for both. Im so sorry to have to post this because I was so excited to try this place but when I got our order I was really disappointed. I got the shrimp wonton and noodle soup. The shrimp was unfortunately very expired. The taste was unbearable. After getting them out of the soup and adding some chili garlic sauce and salt it was spicy and flavorful enough to eat. I also ordered medium spicy level but there was no heat to these noodles at all. Not sure I'll try again but if I do I'll definitely be getting something else. My husband and I were looking for some Thai food after our movie and saw this place as an option, we were sooooo impressed by the food and the wonderful service we drove 45min a week later to have lunch!! You can tell that Koi (the owner) takes great pride in her creations and she does not chinch on the portions!!! We've been to Thailand and the food is so authentic it's like we were right back there!! Her husband Rob is really warm and welcoming and attentive as part of the front face of the restaurant!! This place is unassuming from the outside as it is in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you because the ambience inside is straight out of a Thai noodle shack complete with a glass garage door. Omg this place was AMAZING! My family and I have specific places where we go for each type of cuisine. We all new we wanted Thai but we wanted to change it up a bit and try something knew. We found this place and from the moment we walked into the restaurant , we were greeted by the friendly staff who sat us down and even chatted with us. It was honestly very entertaining. One staff member even taught me how to use chopsticks. It took only around 10 min for the food to arrive and it was so delicious. I like the foods and the drink but there are two things that I dislike. - I have never hear any places that charge us for extra box to go" foods that are left over?" - They will charge you for box to go as well - The rice was not well cook and it tasted like i'm eating the sand in my mouth - I noticed every time I walk by, there were No body hardly there at the restaurant every single days. Two Words. Mango. Duck. If you are as much of a sucker as I am for anything spicy, sweet, and a pinch of fruity, this is the dish for you. Being able to control the level of spice can help, although if you're a fanatic, I would recommend a 4 or higher. The only comment I would make is that I may prefer chicken over duck. Duck definitely feels more game-y and fattier taste, which may be right down your alley. My fiancee tried their pad thai and said that its one of the best that she's ever had. Starting with the crab rangoon and the spring rolls which were fried perfectly. We tried this restaurant during the quarantine, so we were only able to eat it to-go, but walking in definitely gives you an authentic vibe with the wooden walls and paraphernalia that litter the room. The man behind the counter greeted me and offered me a menu to peruse. He was friendly and courteous. I ordered Phad Thai with veggies only and Pineapple Fried Rice with veggies only. Thailander is happy to accommodate any dietary needs. They have options for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. My order was ready in about 10 minutes. Everything was tasty and correct as ordered. The Pineapple Fried Rice was especially good. There is a lunch menu with lower prices available Monday thru Friday from 11-3pm. There is plenty of seating available if you wish to dine in. The atmosphere is very cute. The walls are decorated with food posters, old license plates and assorted Thai bric-a-brac. There is plenty of parking and bus 52 stops nearby. First timers here getting take-away from Thailander. We ordered Padthai, which was a real sweet treat, Padkemow (drunken noodles) beef, which was tasty. Might try it with chicken next time around though because our beef is usually minced or smaller in size for other 'used to' Pad Ke Mow fair at other Thai places. Thailanders was strips of actual steak and took a bit to chew. Heatwave, medium on most dishes was too hot for us and our puppy afterwards.
