By far the best Thai restaurant in Scranton for what that is worth. No but seriously, the wait staff are all super friendly and remember their regulars and if you celebrate a birthday here, your in for a treat! it's more embarassing then anything else but then again what birthday at a restaurant isn't? Personal favorite dishes include the Thai flat bread with chicken curry and the pineapple fried rice which is one of the best I have ever had. Huge fan of both items. Definitely a solid 4 stars for Scranton. We actually meant to try Thai Thai Scranton, which is a block away, but they were unfortunately closed for lunch on Valentine's. Thai Rak Thai was tasty and affordable, and close to a couple of other downtown spots to visit after a meal (vinyl store, vapor bar, etc). We started with the calamari, and I had a papaya salad for my entree. My boyfriend had the red curry and was pleased with the generous amount of rice he received with it. He only mentioned the curry might be a bit thin, but it was still good. I had a Thai tea as a dessert, which was standard. Overall, good and authentic choice if you're in the area. read more

Being the Thai food lover that I am, when I was in Scranton, my husband and I had to try to find a place for lunch that we were both going to be happy with and this seemed to fit the bill. It was nearby, the reviews were good, and it looked like a nice place (when compared to a lot of other places we had driven past). Having a great number of yummy Thai restaurants near us in Pittsburgh is what made our experience here less than fabulous. My husbands Drunken Noodle was good according to him, however, my Pad Thai... I barely was able to eat it. Chicken was barely cooked, noodles were hard, and it just did not have the normal flavors that I was used to. Service was fast, it was a cute little place, prices were uber cheap (less than $15 for 2 lunches that were nice portions if my dish would have been edible). read more

This place is awesome. I've visited there many times with friends and professors. It IS BYOB, although I've never brought my own wine so I'm not sure if there's a corking fee (I dont think there is). I've been a constant fan of their spring rolls and plum sauce as well as their pad thai. However, depending on the day the spiciness level definitely varies. I've ordered a 2 star that has tasted like a 3 star and a 3 star that tasted like a 2 star, though most of the time is was pretty consistent. The staff is SUPER friendly and always happy to see you whether it's your first time there or if you've been there 100 times. I was a frequent visitor for take-out and they always welcomed me warmly and offered me water and a seat. The food comes out fast and hot and they also have an awesome way to celebrate birthdays. They turn on a color disco ball and sing. All around it's a great experience and excellent food. read more

I haven't been here in such a long time, but I still remember my experience very well. I wanted to try roasted duck because there were Geico caveman commercials with roasted duck in them (I'm completely serious, this was the only reason I wanted or even thought about trying duck). So, I went with the honey roasted option and it was amazing. However, as is apparently the case with duck, it was very greasy. I thought I was dying or had food poisoning, but I soon found out I had some stomach problems and lots of grease was going to continue to make me feel this way. So, duck, to me, is like ice cream to someone who is lactose intolerant. The end. PS: I still think I'm ready to come back and try it again then worry about the repercussions later. read more

We finally stopped in here for the first time over the weekend, after hearing good things via word of mouth and on Yelp. We were greeted by a very friendly server, who was genuinely happy to be serving us and did an excellent job from start to finish. I had to try the drunken noodles (added shrimp on mine) since I'd heard so many good things. I ordered them "medium spicy" and they were different from anything I'd had before and I'd get them again in a second. Maybe with full heat next time. We also tried the spring roll app and duck salad, and my wife also had a dish with noodles that was somewhat similar to the drunken noodles. The name of that dish I can't recall, but it was excellent, too. The spring rolls reminded me of an egg roll that you'd get in a Chinese restaurant, and came with a dipping sauce that was somewhat sweet. They are good, but not as unique as many of the other menu items. The duck salad comes with ginger, apples, pineapple, cashews, etc. The salad is really good, with a bunch of different flavors going on. The blue paint inside is kind of funky, but in a good way. The dining room is clean and intimate and, as I said before, the staff is very welcoming. I saw a lot on the menu that I'd like to try. We'll be back sometime soon. read more

The restaurant is good. The food is 3.5 stars. The service is 4.5 stars. We ordered satay and fried fish balls for appetizers. For entrée we had drunken noodles with chicken and spicy basil fried rice with jumbo shrimp. The chicken satay was dry. The meat needed to marinated longer and need to have more spices. It seems the satay has been americanised. The fried fish ball was chewy and tasty. The drunken noodles was good. I have had better however. The spicy basil fried rice was flavorful but rice was too undercooked. I do agreed that the rice must have that chewy texture which means it has to be slightly undercooked. But it seemed their fried rice should have stayed in the pot for a few mins more. On the whole a good experience. read more

This is only my third Thai restaurant, but I'm in love. It came highly recommended gy a friend, so I decided to stop tonight. I got the beef satay and Goong Sam Rod. I thought it was supposed to be spicy, but apparently not. Next time I will ask them to spice it up for me. Food was delicious, prices reasonable and service fantastic. I thought it was very slow for a Saturday night, but considering that both the President and Vice President were in town and half the streets were shut down, I understand. I have heard great things about this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Me and my friends went on I would say a prime dinner time and there was a table able to accommodate my group. The service was great and I love the atmosphere of the place. I got the drunken noodles with medium spice which at first I thought would be too much, but after eating it for a while I got used to it. I would recommend this dish if you are new to Thai food like I was. It was so good and worth your money. I can not wait to come here more and get the food delivered!! read more

Place is alright at best. I like the tea and the spring rolls the most. The noodle dishes are usually greasy though so if I come here it's typically for the tea and rolls. The last time I came here my experience wasn't all that good though. Our food was brought out lukewarm. This rubbed me the wrong way, especially since it took over 45 minutes for us to even get our food. At this point I didn't want to complain, wasted a bit of money here and was upset over that. read more

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants, and the food is amazing. I love the atmosphere and environment although it's a little difficult to find parking. The appetizers are good for my experience and the entrees are to die for. I have dined in and taken out from this restaurant, and both experiences have been good. I have not personally gone to this restaurant for my birthday or anyone in my party's birthday, but I have seen other people have birthdays and it seems like a really good place to go to celebrate. This food was great, and the service was also quick and friendly. I was with a group of 4 and they were able to accommodate us at a table immediately. I ordered the Yellow Curry with Chicken, rice, and a side of fried bread. Delicious! The others with me ordered the Red Curry with chicken, rice, and sides of bread and one ordered a veggie plate with fish that was heaping with fresh looking veggies and avocado. Thai Food is one of those amazing flavor experiences of a life time, once you are hooked you are done, once a place disappoints you they are done, as far as you being a customer! Like all the Thai Places in this part of the country, this is one is geared to American tastes and they lack a lot of the ingredients that make good Thai! One cannot say that the ingredients are NOT available, if nothing else you can find them all on Main St. in the Providence Section of Scranton. My Measure of a Thai Place is the Tom Yum Goong ( Spicy Sweet Shrimp Soup). This place left out some of the Basic Thai Ingredients and replaced them with cheaper American substitutes! One could say I am spoiled since my first experiences in Thai food were made in Thailand itself many years ago. Since I can get all the ingredients locally and cheaply, and make it at Home, why go out to food that lets you down. I am not Thai or Asian, because making it at home is very labor intensive I would rather go out to get it, but every place in or around Scranton, including this is one has left my Empty! A final thought: if you don't see Thai people eating there, it may be good food, but its not good Thai food! read more

AMAZING Food, BYOB, Super nice staff. I often go here for celebrations of events. They happily accommodate large parties and with it being BYOB everyone can bring what they would like to drink. I'm partial to the Pad Prik King and the Penang Curry. The appetizers can leave something to be desired but still have to give this place 5 stars. The prices are so reasonable and they don't close midday which is good for me because I don't get to lunch til 3 or so. I hear they now deliver.
