I was given a generous portion of pad Thai that doesn't look like much but when you open the container it's packed in tight. Perfect balance of sweet and salty and I didn't feel the need to squeeze lime on top which I usually do. Good ratio of noodles to toppings (although I felt the pork was a little sparse), they didn't overwhelm you with crushed peanuts, bean sprouts and green onions. Thai tea had bold flavor . Its a good thing I checked the menu beforhand because when I went to order an entree, listed under entrees, I was told they don't come with rice- only lunch specials come with rice. Food listed under Entrees are considered a la carte. Never ever have I been to an Asian cultured restaurant that a complimentary side of rice does is not included. Food is good, delivery times are amazing but they really are inconsistent on their "open" hours. Randomly during the day at different times they will be closed. They just don't pick up their phones but yelp and google say they are open. Those inconsistencies suck. Look, we're fussy about Thai food. We know it's worth it to drive to Thai Town in Hollywood or up to the Thai part of North Hollywood for the authentic stuff -- regional Chiang Mai or Isan specialities, things with jackfruit or green peppercorn, ong choy or fermented bamboo shoots. But that's not always convenient, and sometimes we just have to make do with the Americanized version closer to home. Of all the Thai restaurants in the vicinity of Eagle Rock and Glendale, there are only two we like: Thai Rama on Pacific, and Thai Taste on Fletcher, which appears to be (temporarily?) closed down as of this writing. Every other place is awful. Yeah. Change my mind. But Thai Rama? Pretty good. I've never had a bad dish here. The only thing that's been a little lackluster were the spring rolls. We enjoyed them, but they were nothing special, so skip those. The two soups I've had -- Tom Yum and Tom Kha -- were both very well balanced in terms of salt, acidity, and spice. The curries are properly runny, not thickened up with cornstarch like house paint. The noodles are flavorful and not overcooked. Nothing is a total sugar-bomb like one frequently encounters at Thai restaurants catering to caucasian palates. "Medium spicy" is noticeable but tolerable. I'm going to tell you that the garlic tofu comes tossed with slices of iceberg lettuce and you're going to make a face but I'm going to tell you to order it anyway. They nail this dish every time. There are booths. You can slump down in them. It's a good restaurant to go to on a rainy night. I would also suggest having a drink up the street at the Capri first, and maybe another one after. read more

Everything seemed fresh, but unfortunately nothing had any flavor and the noodles were so overcooked they were basically mush. My boyfriend and I have ordered their orange chicken a shameful amount of times during the last 6 months or so. I'm not sure if it's just us or what, but it's a fairly magical food experience 90% of the time. They're consistently on time with their pick up orders (15 min or less) and there's many options on the menu... But in all honesty, nothing comes close to the orange chicken, which I SWEAR warrants my full 5 star rating.* Please don't ever change that recipe; I think my bf and I both would have a hard time coping with such a loss. Also, I love that we can place the order, walk over from my place down the block, and pay fairly fast without unnecessary chitchat. And their thai iced tea is the perfect complimentary drink - I do find it odd that they charge more for the "no ice" option.... but I left a weirdly long love letter via Yelp to one very particular dish, so who am I to judge. Thai Rama is probably going to be one of my go to Thai food restaurants from now on. The seafood soup and pad Thai are my staple go to selections. Each were cooked and hand crafted to perfection. The seafood soup was kept hot with a flame and the pad Thai (with chicken) was not too salty or too sweet. The perfect amount of flavor throughout the entire dish. The prices itself were reasonable, somewhere to go for a quick after school or after work meal with friends. The only aspect TAKING away from five stars was the weather that affected the inside. It was raining. Hard. And the rain had seeped through their ceiling and drywall that a few drops had fallen by my friend's head.
