Came in and the environment was nice. It was chill , the decor is neutral/pleasing to the eye, and we were sat right away (night time on a weekday). They were attentive and helpful. Our food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and my partner ordered the Thai Basil over Rice. I had seen a previous review mentioning that the potatoes and carrots were undercooked in the curry, but they seemed to have been true to their reply and worked on it. The curry was delicious and the potatoes and carrots were softened. They told my partner that his meal would be on the drier side before they put the order in, and he was okay with it. Trying it, you can taste the basil and it was dry but it was delicious and they let us know ahead of time! The bathrooms were clean and stocked. We started with appetizers and ordered the chicken satay with peanut sauce and steamed dumplings. The chicken satay was a little tougher than usual, but still decent and flavorful. The steamed dumplings, which we chose over fried, were really, really delicious and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Next, we ordered the garlic and black pepper beef, which is my go to dish whenever I visit a Thai restaurant. It was served over a bed of veggies and paired perfectly with a side of steamed rice. Very, very good, you really cannot go wrong with this dish, and this one was done really well. The final dish was the massaman curry with chicken. It came out delicious. The potatoes were a bit tougher than I usually prefer, as I like them softer, but the curry itself was amazing and full of flavor. Overall, the food was enjoyable and the experience was great. I wasn't feeling great and was craving Thai food. Because of that and the never-ending rain, I chose takeout so I could stay home and watch TV. I researched Yelp, always my go-to for food, and stumbled across Thaiger. Not only was the name catchy, I realized it was a few doors down from another Thai place I had frequented in the past. So I submitted an online order and headed their way. Between the order being ready WAY ahead of their projected time and my having trouble finding the exact location (it's a very slender storefront), I finally got my order and headed home. No, the food was no longer hot, but it was passable. I ordered the Appetizer Platter, especially since reviewers highly recommended the veggie egg rolls and the crab wontons, as well as the Tom Kah Kai soup. The appetizers were well packaged and had not lost any of their crunch. While I was not wild about the veggie egg rolls, the crab wontons were outstanding...probably the best I've ever eaten!! The other items in the combo were just okay but I'd definitely get the crab wontons again! The soup was decent though it needed more lime and less fish sauce. I love fish sauce, but it was overwhelming the soup in my opinion. I grabbed a lime I had at home and added the juice. That helped tremendously. And I was not a fan of the chicken. It had an off taste to me, not like it was bad or anything, just off. Since then I noticed other reviewers made a similar comment. I am eager to eat inside and try other things on their menu. I almost gave my review 3 stars but realized that I'm only basing it on a couple of items. So I decided on 4 stars and will update my review accordingly once I've had a chance to eat there in person. read more

Happily surprised by Thaiger. Was anxious and hungry to try the pad see ew, pad won sen, crying Tiger, and pad kra with ground chicken. Embarrassingly, all the dishes were eaten before remembering to take a photo. The pad see ew was full of noodles and chicken. If you like glass noodles, the pad soon sen is the way to go! The crying Tiger is a good steak dish for meat lovers. Pineapple fried rice had lots of shrimp and pineapple pieces. Loved the fried egg on top of the pad kra. It went perfectly with the chicken and white rice. A perfect ending was the mango sticky rice! The mangos were sweet and ripe and the sticky rice sweet and chewy. This restaurant is family run. A lovely and friendly niece is their wait staff. Definitely returning to try more dishes. read more

First of all, we arrived around 10:30 p.m., with the restaurant closing at 11, and the lady helping us was incredibly kind and never made us feel rushed. The interior was cute and nicely decorated, and the restaurant looked very clean. They also have an A safety and quality rating, which is always reassuring. The star of the show was definitely the fried vegetable egg rolls--hands down some of the best I've ever had. They came out piping hot, super fresh, and full of flavor. The tom yum soup was also excellent and made the cold night feel extra cozy. The Thai iced tea was a solid 10/10 as well. The only dish that wasn't a perfect ten for us was the pad see ew, but we did ask for it extra spicy, so that may have affected the balance. If you're looking for a chill and intimate late night Thai spot- this place is for you! The restaurant is cutely decorated and is good for parties of 2-4. It is shaped like a narrow hallway but that's what makes it really feel like a family owned restaurant. We got two things from the menu and both were reasonably priced with large portions. You MUST get their crying "thaiger" - it's the name of the restaurant and I can see why that as their favorite. The beef is so tender and juicy with citrus and spice. It was actually a bit spicy so be prepared! The pad Thai was pretty standard, but the portion size was what made it with it. Usually nowadays I'll order a pad Thai that is only good for one person, but my friend and I shared and still had leftovers to go! The service was so sweet and very accommodating. My fiancé and I order food from here regularly. I will say, they do have issues with consistency- some days the food is better than others. Maybe they have different chefs on different days? My favorites are the spicy drunken noodles and the spicy beef salad. I also really love laarb salad, but it's kind of hit or miss at Thaiger. I've also had the spicy beef salad, where the beef is overcooked, but 8/10 times it's perfect. Solid Thai food. Great flavors. Consistency could be improved. read more

Dropped by last night to give this place a try. They have a large menu with many options. The service was great and everyone there was very nice. We ended up ordering pad thai, a curry, crying tiger, fried wontons, and rice. The curry was probably my favorite. The wontons and pad thai was good. The crying tiger was different from what I'm used to. This one was just meat with a sauce on the side. The ones I have ordered from other places have this sour sauce on it. We came here on a Sunday around noon and we were the only ones here. The food was good and my favorite was the crab fried rice. The service is great and Parker took very good care of us and is very nice. The fried whole fish in sweet and sour sauce was made with a big tilapia and was crunchy even with the sauce on it. The jaew with the crying tiger steak was wonderful too. We also go the coconut ice cream with roti which had banana inside and tasted like bananas foster almost, as well as the mango sticky rice and both desserts were tasty. The environment is comfy and nice, not a huge restaurant but it's like a long walkway with tables. There's parking in the back as well as some street parking out front on Colorado, just past Glendale High. Would come back again to try more. read more

It's our first time eating here and was recommended by my nail artist so we had to check it out! The ambience and music is super cute w/ a chill vibe! Lackluster flavors. Tough chicken. Pan fried Noodles with Shrimp - 3/5 - on their special menu. Its good not great. Chinese restaurants have better flavor. I love this place and it feels like family. I called a night ago asking how late they were open and the lady said "'it's ok come!" Without hesitation at 1045pm. Awesome spot for Thai. Ordered to go and with 5 items only took 20 minutes until pickup. Portion sizes were all fair and large for their price. Item by item: The Shrimp Pad Thai was the star of the show, amazing flavor. Spicy beef salad was perfect meat to salad ratio for me, generous on the meat. Papaya salad was definitely a lighter version than what I'm used to. Many places use the heavy fish and fermented goods but this one was mostly just citrus sauce. And the crying thaiger which to me came out a little too well done, maybe I should have specified I like the meat more rare as that's what I'm used to. The pink drink nom yen was interested, reminded me of a pepto bismol taste. One thing I asked for extra thai hot (spicy) on everything, and still I think it was a medium heat. Maybe just me though. Our first time here. Place is clean. Food was good. Not greasy. Waitress was professional. We arrived at 3:04pm and we got lost. We started to order the lunch special and the man said, "No to the waitress and she said, we could not order from the lunch menu". In his place, I would have talked to the customers and kindly explained that they missed the lunch specials and that the cut off was at 3pm. Or I would have given customers this 1 exception since, it was our first time and got lost. Instead of a harsh turn NO. Otherwise, everything else was a grade 10 out of 10. Picked up food from here for the first time. My go-to dish at Thai restaurants is Pad see ew so thats what I got (with chicken) and the fried chicken dumplings. Pad see ew was ok 6/10, unfortunately, chicken was very dry and had an intense chicken flavor that Im not fond of. But the fried dumplings were very good (9/10). 10/10.. if you don't like the food here you have bad taste. I didn't know Thai food could be so fresh. The lightness of the fried foods (cream cheese wontons, fried dumplings, orange chicken) was socking in the best way. The Crying Thaiger was tender and the sauce was delightful. All the sauces were top tier and felt homemade. Portion of the Pad Thai was large and full of tofu, chicken, and fresh bean sprouts to mix in. Did a last minute add on of the crab fried rice and so happy we did. The real crab was so good mixed with the fried rice. Everything was so balanced. We were full but didn't feel gross after eating because the food wasn't heavy. The decorated is so cute and upscale. It also smelt amazing. Not like food but of gardenias or some light flower scent of the candle on the table. I don't know how this place wasn't packed on New Year's Eve (maybe we went too early) but this is one of the best restaurants in LA not just for Thai food but over all.
