This place is great! I've eaten here in person before the pandemic and taken food to go and it's always delicious. They have been extremely cautious since COVID began and it hasn't impacted the quality of their food or their service at all. I have to say one of the BEST Thai restaurants I have had in PHX. I have gotten food from here a few times. Usually just curries. The peanut and yellow curries r some of the best. W amazing chicken and vegetables. And huge portions. This last time we also ordered the pad Thai. And the egg rolls I'd have given a 5 star but while the pad Thai portion is also huge and great quality chicken. The overall flavor was bland and lacking. It's almost like they didn't put the sauce in. I made my own sauce and mixed in in a stir fry and it was delicious. The only other con I say is that for the huge portions of curry you get a tiny box of rice. It's def not enough. So if you like rice like me. Then order an extra side. But i do wish they would use a slightly larger box for the white rice This is now one of my favorite places for take out and I'm excited to try more dishes. While I don't think u can eat at restaurant currently. It's also a very nice and clean restaurant. So it's win win all around read more

Pad See ew with chicken and pot stickers delivered The oddest thing that initially was an issue but only for the first few bites was that the noodles had a fishy flavor to it so I thought that they might be cooking everything in the same wok or pan. It only seemed in the top layer of the dish so maybe it absorbed the flavor of what ever was being cooked nearby. After that it had the flavor it was supposed to so that did not influence my rating overall. The dish was ok. I ordered it with medium heat and overall the flavors were enough to get me to eat until I was full but nothing to brag about. The pot stickers were not that good. The filling was just fine but it was the texture of dough that was off putting. Not bad. Not Good. Just Meh. read more

Words can't describe how great this place is! First, the place is EXTREMELY clean. As nurses and parents of a toddler, my wife and I are always hypercritical of the cleanliness of restaurants, and this place exceeds our expectations, ESPECIALLY during the COVID-19 pandemic. Secondly, the quality of the food is outstanding. The flavors are so fresh and bold with a lot of variety between dishes. Familiar meals, like orange chicken, take a new approach with flavors and when combined with the outstanding quality of the food, will soon become your new favorites. The meats they use are all fresh, with NO gristle or strands of fat. I'm extremely picky, especially when it comes to chicken, and again, this place has exceeded my expectations, using only white meat. The breading stays fresh and crispy (even with takeout) and the meat is tender, unlike I've ever had at any other restaurants. Oh, and I can't forget how large the portions are...my wife and I usually split one meal and it easily fills us both. Finally, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. They've always treated us like family or friends, even from the first time we ate here. In conclusion, I can't say enough good things about this place. Thai Recipe is, without question, my favorite Thai restaurant. If you're in the mood for Asian food, this is the place you want to try, even if it means going out of your way. However, their Tom Kha soup with calamari had me pissing out the wrong hole if yenno what I mean. YIKES! We love this restaurant! We have ordered carry out from them many times, even prior to the pandemic. The food is always tasty and made to level of hotness you like. Our family favorites are drunken noodles, pad see ew and green curry. The beef is sliced thin and is very tender. The chicken is white meat and also cooked perfectly. The shrimp was also good but wished there were more shrimp. The vegetables are cut so the entrees looks pretty. The prices are decent and the portions are generous. We have always had great, enthusiastic service and we appreciate their Covid safety. Whenever any of our family are in the area, we order from them! There are few places that customer service is natural and not forced or scripted, every associate I have dealt with is personable and honestly I would hang out with them haha. Would loved to give this place a 1 start rating, but the service was good. I was traveling there and remembered this place from before because I had eaten Pho across the street. One my rules for Asian restaurants is to never eat a restaurant calling them selves "Bistro" to make them sound more French. They don't cater towards the "Asian" taste. The food was terrible. I ordered the boat noodles, pad thai, spring rolls, fried rice, fried calamari, and seafood salad. Boat noodles was bland. I'm pretty sure they didn't use real blood. I'm not sure what they used, but it didn't taste like boat noodles. The beef was very tough to chew. The seafood salad was very expensive and all you get is 2 shrimps, 2 scallops, and like 2 mussels. Very disappointed portions for the price. The fried calamari was overcooked and very chewy. The spring rolls were terrible. All veggie, no meat. The chicken pad thai wasn't good either. We asked for extra extra extra spicy. What we got was less than Hot Cheetos spicy. The chicken was really dry and had no flavor. The fried rice was dry and the chicken was the same dry chicken they put in the pad thai. Overall, I was very disappointed in the quality of their food. You can tell they have all their meats and veggies chopped the same way and ready to just use in any of their dishes, which made all their dishes look and taste the same. I've now had takeout twice and dined in twice. This review is for the last dine-in. From our experience you might think this should be maybe a three star review... just read on. We ordered well ahead using their online website but arrived to find the food not ready. Luckily we were not in a hurry so patiently waited about 10 minutes before they realized our order had been picked up by someone else. So they started on it asap... another 10 minutes passed and we flagged down the staff to ask if we could just dine-in. They quickly got us a table and almost immediately the food was brought out. We had the Drunken Noodles with tofu and Papaya salad. Both were delicious! Plus, the staff were very attentive even though the place was busy. We were very impressed with their effort to make up for our messed up order. We were lucky to be flexible and the whole experience turned out great. Man, was this food delicious!! We live in a southern AZ city where there aren't any Thai restaurants, so this was a real treat. I got Massaman curry with veg and extra crispy tofu (mild-medium spice with chili oil on the side so I could spice it to my taste). My husband got green curry with crispy tofu (mild-medium with chili flakes on the side). We were so pleased. If we lived in Phoenix, we would eat here regularly. It's somewhat pricy, but you get a ton of food. My husband will be able to get two meals out of his order and I can probably get 3-4 meals out of mine. Yum yum yum. I wish I had taken pics, but we tucked into it so quickly that I forgot. I've never gotten the opportunity to order extra crispy tofu before but I hope I come across other restaurants that offer it.
