We ordered hot and spicy rice cakes (tteogbokki) with ramen, chicken katsu, and LA galbi. The food was good, and they kept refilling your band chan, which also good and had a lot of types. My favorite was tteogbokki, and I added $2 for ramen, highly recommended! For me it's not spicy at all but flavorful and the portion was generous. The batter of chicken katsu was too thick though, you can actually see from the picture I took. The galbi was kinda burned, there were lots of burned pieces, which was a little shame. Overall, I still think it's a good place to go if you're carving some Korean food in North Phoenix.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon at this mom + pop shop. Cute hand painted pictures of food offerings on the wall, with the dining area split between bbq grills and normal tables. Got the jokbal (pork trotters) and pajeon (scallion + seafood pancake). Came with an array of banchan (kimchi, seaweed, fishcakes, julienned radish, beansprouts, garlic scapes). Jokbal was on the saltier side, some dry pieces of meat here and there. The pajeon was slightly thin, and not that much seafood. So friendly! You do have to wave down to order more food / get the check. Objectively, I thought spots in Mesa have better quality food, but this is a good alternative if in the West Valley.

Went back again and tried more stuff. Service was kind of slower tonight than before. It took awhile for someone to acknowledge us and take our order. Everyone was still super friendly. We ordered the cold noodles, spicy edamame, beef bulgolgi, and pork and cheese tonkatsu. The banchan was a little different this time but still good. -spicy edamame- the spicy sauce was ok. -Pork and cheese tonkatsu was cheesy. -beef bulgolgi was a little fatty. Served on a hot plate on top of onions. I just wish the onions were cooked because they were just raw. -Cold noodles. I've only tried the packaged kind from Hmart but these were very good. Great on a hot day. The noodles were good and chewy. Service was just okay compared to last time. But I would still go back because the food is great

Love mom and pop spots family owned!!! We sat in the back, the server was very friendly. The food came pretty quick from appetizers, to main dishes. Wow, such a delicious selection of foods. The ambiance was casual, the food was yummy. Loved every flavor and the kimchi. The owners are very kind and welcoming. You gotta try it if you love Korean bbq!!

Historically this location has been a Korean restaurant according to the staff. So when the previous one closed they knew they had to keep the torch lit. The Banchan is delicious and I can really taste the original flavors I remember from living in Korea. I enjoy the variety and I've since been here twice and really enjoy the array of flavors. The Hot pot and Chap Chae were so good. Immediately takes me on a sensory trip The new decor makes it look bigger inside. Nice clean and simple. I look forward to coming back. You should really make your way there you won't be disappointed.

Amazing Korean food that's not all the way on the east side. The bibimbap is fantastic! Loved all the sides including kimchi. Service is always so kind. Definitely recommend checking out if you want some delicious authentic Korean food.

When you walk in it is very mom and pop style in there. We ordered some pork gyoza and edamame to start. Both were very good. Then we ordered some Tteogbokk-i it was my first time trying that. Was pretty good. For out main dishes we got marinated beef short ribs and mild pork belly. Both were very good. The ladies very very nice and brought all the little side dishes out and our drinks. I would go back. But maybe do the grilling ourselves next time.

Solid Korean option. We ordered the beef tofu soup, pork dumplings, spicy cold noodles and the mackeral. Everything was delicious and filling. A nice variety of banchan that was refilled many times. I will definitely add this place to my regular rotation.

Lots to choose from and kind staff. The food came out hot and tasted so good! I had the beef stew and the meat was so tender on the bone! Great banchan and they marinate their meat so well! My husband had the spare ribs!

I just want to take a moment to give this restaurant their flowers. I ordered through Uber Eats but I feel compelled to give a review. I tried the seolleongtang at Kimchi Korean BBQ and was so blown away. The broth was rich, comforting, and clearly simmered with care, and the portions were generous. I have food allergies (gluten and dairy) they handled everything with incredible attention to detail and kindness. Even on the banchan they let me know what was and wasn't gluten and dairy free. So thoughtful. I feel so comfortable and confident with choosing this restaurant. Skinmaxxing. All I all can say is gamsahamnida!

If you're looking for an amazing Korean spot in AZ--this is it. Everything was made perfectly, and it's probably the best Korean food I've had in a while. I'll definitely be coming back! Service was quick and efficient! The place is also open and clean. Even my fiancé, who is not a foodie at all, said he hasn't enjoyed food this much in a long time. He was so happy there, which says everything.

Precooked galbi--too fatty! Barely any meat

Update: Now I don't have the time to be responding to a restaurant, but this owner response is weird and feels like a backhanded apology. First, the English server never asked us if we wanted the food remade or if we wanted it comped--just said sorry and took it back. Which is literally why this review was written--why else would I complain if this was clearly asked. I understand "perception is reality" but the reality is this doesn't excuse or explain why we didn't get refills on our side dishes after we asked, why we were ignored for 45 mins and had to call over another English speaking server, and why the bill was brought to us even when we didn't ask for it yet. You can clearly see in other low rated reviews they are upset about very similar things with similar staff. Even the hidden reviews. Just do better man

My family has been long-time customers of the Korean restaurant that Kimchi Korean BBQ took over, so we were excited to try the new spot, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the owners and staff, and, the interior was inviting and relaxed, the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable settling into. We ordered the Haemul Pajeon (seafood pancake) extra crispy and the Dolsot Bibimbap. The seafood pancake was loaded with a variety of diced seafood, green onions, and vegetables. The batter was perfectly light and crispy on the outside, while soft and slightly creamy on the inside. It paired beautifully with the tangy soy dipping sauce. The dolsot bibimbap came out sizzling in a hot stone bowl, topped with rice, assorted vegetables, beef bulgogi, and a fried egg. That stone bowl creates the most satisfying crispy rice layer on the bottom. Once mixed together with the gochujang sauce, it was a full-on flavor and texture explosion, absolutely delicious. Highly recommend checking out Kimchi Korean BBQ. We'll definitely be back.

They offer a sort of cook-it-yourself experience where you order up to two kinds of broths, and they bring them to you in a large pot that goes over your tabletop grill. You receive meats from your server, and have access to a self-serve bar of vegetables, noodles, seafood, and spices. Because it is so customizable you can really experiment with flavors and come up with some delightful combinations. I was a big fan of the brisket and octopus in the spicy broth, and my fiancée enjoyed the pork belly in the sweet broth. Both pots also complemented each other quite well! My favorite part of the ambiance was the privacy curtains. Because tables are all next to each other I imagine it would be easy to see what other diners are doing, but the curtains add a sense of privacy that made us feel like we were almost dining alone. Our service was also excellent. We had several people working in the restaurant come by during the meal to make sure we had all the broth, water, and meats that we wanted. Definitely try Jin Shabu! It's located in an outdoor shopping center, and although the restaurant is on the smaller side, the interior design and decor reminded me of many of the Korean BBQ restaurants back home in California. It felt cozy and authentic. This is not an all-you-can-eat restaurant. We ordered the Small Beef Combo, 2 side of rice, Korean dumplings, and the strawberry basil lemonade. The only unlimited items are the traditional Korean side dishes. We were served five different banchan along with two salads. While they didn't bring every available side dish, the ones we received were actually very good. Unfortunately, the service is what ruined the experience for me. Our server, Huy, was also serving my friends' family seated at the table next to us. They had ordered the same Small Beef Combo. When Huy started grilling our brisket, he accidentally dropped one of our slices of meat onto the floor. He paused, clearly noticed it, and so did everyone at our table. However, there was no apology, no acknowledgment, and no offer to replace the piece. He simply continued cooking as if nothing had happened. A few moments later, he placed a Prime Ribeye on our grill. I told him we hadn't ordered that cut--it belonged to my friends' table. He then picked up the entire plate of raw ribeye from our grill and transferred it to their table. Even though they were our friends sitting right next to us, that didn't seem like proper food handling. When I mentioned the mix-up, he simply said the kitchen had made a mistake. Again, there was no apology. Toward the end of the meal, it seemed like Huy realized I was unhappy, but he never addressed either incident. The missing piece of brisket wasn't a significant financial loss, and the food itself was good. My disappointment was with the service. Mistakes happen in every restaurant. What matters is acknowledging them, apologizing, and making a reasonable effort to make things right. A simple apology and replacing the dropped piece of meat would have completely changed my impression. Because of the service, I don't plan on returning, which is unfortunate because the food and atmosphere were otherwise enjoyable.
