I came here with friends after playing tennis at a nearby park. It was pretty difficult to find parking nearby. They do offer a 5 minute parking in front of restaurant for picking up. I appreciated that dishes that could be made vegan were clearly marked on the menu, though not very plentiful. I got the Pra Ram, veggies and tofu in peanut sauce with rice on the side. The peanut sauce was a little on the weak side and I asked for extra that was $2.50. it was better with the extra peanut sauce. This is a cute little Thai place tucked away in Multnomah Village. We came after the dog park and loved to find that the patio was very dog friendly. Our waitress got them water and let them sit at the bench for a photo. The Pad Thai was good, but sweeter than what I'm used to. The pineapple fried rice was unique as there were raisins in it! Thai Herbs was our go-to Thai place when I lived in Portland, so I had to revisit this place while in town visiting. It is just as good as the old days. We got the Tom Kha soup and Tom Yum soup with tofu, both are absolutely delicious. It is perfect for a cold raining day. It comes with abundance of vegetables, it is very filling. I love the presentation of the soup, it makes the dining experience so much more fun and interesting. I hate to leave a bad review, but the food here just isn't good. Prior to the takeout I got today, I've been in person and ordered take out about a total of four times. The first few times it was pretty okay. Nothing special, but not bad for a neighborhood Thai restaurant. Tonight, however, the quality of the food was pretty bad. It was a step below mediocre, but still edible. The almost rotten lime wedges that accompanied the meal perfectly summarized the quality of the meal we were about to eat. We ordered pad see ew, pad kee mao and spring rolls. Both noodle dishes were pretty bland and underwhelming. The spring rolls were actually pretty good flavor wise, but they were put in the bag with the hot food, which warmed them significantly and made them pretty sticky and gross. This is a great little Thai restaurant nestled in multnomah Village. The ambiance / aesthetic is a 5 based on its charm (what looks like an old house), cleanliness and contour. I had tried the Pad Thai previously and was not a fan but was ver impressed by the Pad se ew. The Mango tango was a delicious rendition of the cashew chicken I had previously tried. I have enjoyed Thai Herbs for many years and it just never gets old! My favorite dish is the pad see ew with chicken or tofu. The red curry is wonderful, and I also love the salad rolls and tofu soup. All servers are very kind, informative, and pleasant. Plus if I want extra/substitutes in my dish they are ver accommodating. In addition to all this, their service is really fast especially if you order to-go over the phone. Last night I ate Rad Nah with tofu, a rice noodle dish, at 8:30 pm. From 10:30 pm until 3:30 am, I was throwing up and had diarrhea several times. I know from decades of foreign travel how food poisoning affects me: first with sharp pains in my stomach to announce what to look forward to, then nausea starting at around 2 hours after eating and at times diarrhea after that. This was non-stop for 5 hours. I returned today and talked to the waitress who served us last night to warn her of poisoning others. She said she had the cook prepare a second dish from the same pan for her last night and she didn't get sick. OK, well that's fine but that doesn't negate the fact that I got sick. She's maybe 40 years younger, eats there all the time, etc. No comments about informing the kitchen or the owners. Ugh, why do I keep giving this place more and more chances when it always disappoints!? Of 5 trips, 4 have been not good, only the first was good months before the pandemic. When will I learn? I guess because I like to walk at Gabriel Park, I want to follow it up with some Thai food, but this is not the place. We ordered a Pad Thai to go and this is how we received it, please see the pic, in a small little flimsy topple over container. They do NOT use peanut sauce but this other sour sauce for this dish. She said that peanut sauce wasn't the original recipe and Americanized. Well I guess I like the Americanized version then! It just wasn't good overall. No one asks you if you liked the food. No one refills waters. You have to ask to get more than one small napkin or go inside and get it more often than not. The Thai food cart in the area is better and I will review it soon. read more

The patio's vibe reminded me of the experience I had back in Cambodia and Thailand. Entering the restaurant, the songs were nice and it was American retro designed. I just ordered a mango sticky rice and oh my goodness it was a 10/10. Rice wasn't dry or too soft. Right amount of coconut sauce. I don't like to leave bad reviews but the quality of food here is just NOT good. We decided to try this place for the first time and it was SO disappointing. My Mom got the Lemongrass Chicken and the chicken came out not grilled (maybe steamed?) but it was an unappetizing piece of white, cheap, compressed chicken meat in the shape of a breast. She sent it back to the kitchen to have it actually grilled and they did that and it looked a little better, but she tried to eat a few pieces and couldn't. She asked to take it off the bill but they refused and said she ate half which just wasn't true. I got the Pad Thai and had a luke warm bite of tofu and then a disgusting bite of cabbage that tasted like dirt. I left the whole dish there (besides a few bites) and had zero appetite at this point. I love Thai food and am used to better places. We had to pay for a few bites of really bad food that left me without an appetite entirely. Buy better quality meat! Had the green curry with shrimp and their tofu rolls. I choose mild heat but in general I do love spicy this place had the most delicious peanut sauces! One was this delightful savory peanut creaminess! And dipping the tofu rolls in it was DIVINE Y'ALL! Everything tasted so FREAKIN FRESH! The lettuce and spinach was crispy, the carrots were nice and flavorful! The wrap stuff was smooth and tasty! (I am using way too many exclamation points, but you guys have no idea how amazing it was!) Then..... the curry yo..... it was just the right amount of heat to the flavor ratio..... so yummy and I couldn't eat it all in one sitting so I took it home, it continued to get hotter and more flavorful day by day! I'm not sure what I was ever thinking giving this place 4 stars. I had to correct myself and give it 5. This review is based on vegetarian food (non-meat) items. Having tried many other Thai restaurants in the metro area, I can now confirm that Thai Herbs is the best we have come across. First reason: high quality ingredients. The flavors just are better and it's a clear distinction for us now. It's like night and day from other Thai restaurants. Secondly: not greasy at all. Tastes light and flavorful, even their pineapple fried rice with tofu was light. Third: prices are very fair considering you're getting a better product than most any other Thai place in PDX, Beaverton, Hillsboro, and the Lake O area. Fourth: can accommodate my partner's unique garlic allergy. This sealed the deal as we have gotten literally identical dishes at other Thai restaurants that made him very sick from garlic even though we asked for it removed and these places confirmed they could do so before we ordered. If you want the best Thai in the metro area and you're vegetarian, this is the only place to go. read more

WHY isn't this place absolutely packed?? It's become my go-to Thai spot. Red curry is phenomenal with lots and lots of veggies (recommend getting medium spicy). Salad rolls and pad thai are also amazing, and I've been here with many people and they all loved their food as well. They have a lot of vegan options on the menu and are able to make other things vegan too, just ask. Also portions are large, ambiance is so cute, and service is so speedy. Got the pad thai and it was very bland - practically no spice (even though I ordered a medium) and none of the complex flavors that Thai food should have. Also got the drunken noodle and thought it was meh (probably better than the pad thai, but still not great and it was way hotter than the medium that I ordered).
