Thai Soon is a gem! It fed me and my husband all throughout college. The portions are HUGE for the price. We both used to eat one noodle dish and be completely full! Their lunch combo of a entree with 2 veggie egg rolls and choice of soup/salad is amazing. The food itself is delicious. We have tried so many Thai restaurants in Dallas and none compare. This is my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is consistently delicious. My favorite appetizer is the satay with tofu. It's much easier to eat tofu off skewers than chicken, and the taste is great. Favorite entrees are Pad Thai, Red Curry, Rad Na and Thai Fried Rice. The Red Curry is my favorite, I order spice level 2 because I'm a bit of a wimp. It's delicious, with just the right amount of fresh basil, and all of the aromatic goodness that takes me back to my childhood. One taste and I'm transported back to 1st grade, eating curry at the Thai market in Bangkok. Their Fried Rice is my favorite comfort food. Thai Soon has a small dining room, but we have family meals there (party of 6) without problems, by avoiding the busy times of day. Service is great. We frequently order take out and the quality is consistently good. They are BYOB and will provide wine glasses for you. Sad. This used to be a favorite. Salad was warm and limp. Fried dumplings were disgusting. Shape was different, over cooked, filling had crunchy knots of tendons. Yuck. Pad Thai was dry and totally undersauced. Heard another table complaining about dryness and lack of freshness. Server not very responsive. Thought the customer was being a picky witch until I got my food and felt the same way. Please go back to the old days when I recommended you to everyone that would listen. read more

some friends and I went to Thai Soon for lunch today. They were very busy but we didn't wait long for the table. I ordered from the lunch menu - seafood big noodles. It was decent but the service was not too good. We had four people. My food was served first. The timing between I got my food and my friends got theirs was about 5 -10 mins in between. I requested to have salad dressing on the side but it wasn't done. My friend ordered an appetizer which never come but they did not even notice that and still put it on the bill. Thai Soon is our "go to" place for Thai cuisine. There's no liquor served, but Whole Foods is in the same shopping center, so it's easy to grab some beer or a bottle of wine to enjoy with a meal. Service here is so poor. Probably the worst I've ever experienced. We had to ask to get out water refilled and even then they never refilled our water. The girls working here are so forgetful and even forgot to give us straws for our drinks.... They didn't check up on our table once throughout our dining experience and we had to approach them getting our check after 15 minutes of getting our take out boxes. Honestly never coming back.
