The Thai food here is amazing! My husband and I first ate here in 2016 when vacationing in Lake George. It was so good we remembered Aroy Dee 10 years later and came back. It was just as delicious as we remembered. We highly recommend the Tom Kar (coconut soup) with chicken, Chicken Himmapan and Mango Curry. Our son got the sushi and was very happy, too. Friendly service, great with our little guys (ages 2 and 7). So sad to see this place has gone down hill so significantly. I didn't realize I had reviewed them before and gave 5 stars! But that was 10 years ago and a lot of things change (and costs are cut) in that time. Everything tasted funny, quality was not there, shrimp and chicken tasted bland and was rubbery, not fresh. Simply the BEST! I have been to many Thai restaurants all over the East coast, Phoenix area and in SF. Aroy Dee is a level above the rest. There is something different and delicious about how they spice, prepare and present their delicious Thai fare. You must experience this treasure for yourself. Wow! Upstate does have good food! Really pleasantly surprised to find such a yummy place up here while visiting my parents at their lake cabin. Service had some hiccups but I think the phone was ringing off the hook with take out orders. Parking seems tight so look for street. There was indoor and outdoor seating. In a culture that's increasingly going in the way of delivering food, we had an extraordinary dining experience. The restaurant sits in a cozy style house in historic Glens Falls. From the moment our party of five came in (we walked in at four 'o clock as soon as the doors opened), we were greeted warmly by staff and shown to our table immediately. We had a some of their happy hour starters, called dynamite bombs, crab rangoon and miso soup to begin with. It was all delicious, and came quickly. Our main dishes ,which were mostly sushi rolls, came beautifully displayed on a sushi boat. We also ordered some Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup, again all of it was delicious and prepared perfectly. The best part of the evening was when our waitress overheard us talking about our daughter's birthday, and surprised us at the end of the meal with a platter of small desserts and then sang Happy Birthday to us! Funny how long it took us to check out Aroy Dee. Glad we finally did. I think that it's too early to early to render a final opinion but so far so good. Sushi app was excellent, wife had a curry dish which was delish, and I had duck which would have been better if it wasn't over cooked. You shouldn't have to ask for your duck to be cooked medium rare (because that's how it is supposed to be served). My guess is that's early on it was served correctly and the yentas and rednecks kept sending it back, complaining that "My duck isn't cooked all the way!" figuring it was easier to serve it over well done for the epicurean inept. We came here for dinner because it seems like everyplace that's in the town of Lake George just isn't good unless it's pizza. We ordered some tom yum soup and crab rangoon for appetizers. The tom yum soup was good with a good spice and the crab rangoon was crunchy and creamy. For dinner, we got chicken teriyaki which was piping hot, but the chicken was good and not dried out, and it had a flavorful sauce. We also ordered the pad see-eew with beef and that also tasted good and the meat wasn't dried out. We wanted to order the pavlova for dessert, but they ran out, and it seemed like they ran out of a lot of menu items from over hearing the waitress. The service was slow, but that can be like most places in these small towns that have hiring issues. Overall, not a bad spot with plenty of parking. read more

We felt transported to someone's living room. Such a wow factor to have driven up and find this restaurant inside a house! All the little details, from the sunflowers outside to the Thai trinkets and decorations, made this a really unique and special dining experience for my family and I. I held back on ordering more sushi because I had a ton before this visit but THE NIGIRI WAS CHEAP!! We drove 30 minutes to get to this restaurant because all the restaurants in the town we were staying in were terrible. It was worth every single minute! We made a reservation ahead of time and glad we did because the restaurant was busy. Staff was great and attentive. The food was so tasty. The Thai food items were definitely better than the sushi. Went here for lunch while on my business trip. I'm very happy to see an authentic Thai restaurant. I was greeted immediately by a waitress she was very nice and we even had a little conversation regarding our ethic groups. To the point I ordered the duck red curry dish and a Thai ice tea. Duck red curry: DELICIOUS, definitely authentic since I have the taste for Asian food it was well seasoned and had every ingredient I was expect. Thai tea: sweet and refreshing! Had a great dining experience here while visiting a friend. 3 of us ordered the sushi lovers boat which looked amazing. But I went with the Thai side of the menu and was not disappointed. The spring roll appetizer contained four (4) large and crispy ones with a great dipping sauce. For my main, I ordered green curry with shrimp, spiced medium heading toward hot. It was perfect! Oddly, they are all Thai/ Japanese/ usually something else restaurants which makes them all kinda average to below average (because they are all different cuisines from different countries. To excel at one doesn't mean you excel at them all just because they are Asian, so they don't do any one thing great), but in the end, this one was the best. This is as authentic as it gets. The family that owns this is actually from Thailand. It makes them happy if you greet them or say thank you in Thai. The cheat sheets are on the wall. The cooked food is consistent and not Americanized. The green curry taste just like some that I got in Thailand. I usually start out with a salmon avocado roll as an appetizer. The poke has set the standard for me at other restaurants. On the menu it is listed as tuna poke but I ask for salmon instead. Every time I go I say to myself that I'm going to try something else on the menu but I love all of the things that I normally get. So when it comes time to order I just stick with everything that I am craving. Fresh roll, drunken noodle, green curry, chicken satay...so many good things. We dined here on a Tuesday night, as a party of four. Start to finish, our meal took over two hours due to slow service. One in our party ordered a few appetizers as entrees, and specified that upon ordering. But her food came out first; and she was finished eating long before anyone else's entree made an appearance. Beer and wine selection is extremely limited; I ordered hot tea, and then made three separate attempts to request a second cup. I ordered two rolls - one of which was wrong. Our waitress was very obliging in correcting the mistake, but nevertheless, it was frustrating. Presentation was standard, but not inspiring; and the flavors were as expected. I am generally very forgiving - we're all human - but this place does not live up to the hype... If you're looking for good sushi in Glens Falls, Mikado is still my pick! read more
