The pad thai is amazing - my go to every visit! I've had the shrimp and chicken and both were amazing.

First time trying out this thai restaurant, from a recommendation from a family member. I ordered a pick-up order. Upon entering the restaurant, the decor was modern, plenty of seating and it was two sides to the restaurant. It wasnt too busy, but it looks like the one server I saw was doing everything. I ordered Thai Fried Rice with chicken and shrimp, medium spice level; along with some crab rangoon bites. The crab rangoon bites were delicious and I did enjoy the sweet chili sauce paired with the bites. When it came to my thai fried rice, I had way more onions than chicken and shrimp in my entree. I only found 2 small pieces of chicken. The only win for me was the crab rangoon bites. I might give them another try, because I do enjoy thai food, but this wasnt the best experience. read more

And another one! I have found me a Thai restaurant on the NW side of town that is phenomenal. From the service to the food, you get that feeling as if you're in Thailand. The lunch specials are the way to go for your first time, dining. You will not leave hungry. In fact, you could end up with leftovers; depending on your appetite. And the prices are reasonable. They complement the portions as well as the flavor and quality of food. In my opinion, compared to others, don't expect a huge dining area. With most of the Thai restaurants I've dined, the good ones, they're typically small for an almost quiet dining experience. I've found the smaller, the better in taste. It was very clean and open. This was our first time trying this location. It was warm inside with both decoration and temperature, which was good as it had been chilly that night. We were seated immediately by a very pleasant server. I had to go to the bathroom. It was a single-seater bathroom that was also warm inside and was nicely decorated with painted walls, paintings on the wall, and flowers. I had a Diet Coke and my wife had hot green tea. We had deep fried crispy tofu with a sweet and sour sauce, it was very nice and crispy and hot and the sauce was a good combination of tangy and sweet. We both had chicken pad Thai and it had a wonderful flavor. Nice tender noodles and chicken, nice crunchy peanuts, a nice sweet and savory sauce mixed in and perfect texture bean sprouts. I'd say it was the best chicken pad Thai we've had so far. We will definitely return! read more

What I've learned is that Thai food just might be at the top of the list for me as far as favorites are concerned. Decided to try somewhere new today because I couldn't zero in on what I had a taste for and I'm happy to have stumbled upon Thai Thai. A few things that warrant the 4 stars as opposed to 5 stars: the length of time it took to be greeted & the very nonchalant attitude that server had- I had a hard time deciphering between if today just had not been a great day for her or if she was genuinely not a people person. Either way, I still tipped because she did loosen up a little near the end of our visit and because that's a common courtesy for what wait staff is paid hourly in Indiana. Now back to the food!!!!!!!!10's across the board. What we ordered: Appetizer: Crab Rangoon & Steamed dumplings Drinks: Sweet Thai Iced Green tea (soooo yummy but in my opinion didn't pair well with the food we ordered) it was more like a sweet treat but DELICIOUS! Entree's: Yellow Curry & Pad Kee Mao aka drunken noodles. So happy I didn't stick to my go-to "pad thai" this dish was delectable. My daughters yellow curry was as well. Wasn't my first choice but it was easier for me to get to. Upon arrival, there were no guests in the dining room. Lunch options come with soup and a spring roll. They do not offer a dipping sauce for the spring roll. I ordered a shrimp with veggies. It was 3 pieces of shrimp. The portion amount was not very much. The flavor was just not there. I tasted fish sauce and oyster sauce. I asked for mild. There was no spice. Then I'm fighting with a fly trying to eat my food with me. Leaving this here so I remember not to revisit. read more

So glad we stopped in to try this nearby Thai place. It is snuggled in a strip mall filled with yummy dinner spots so it may be early looked over. It's absolutely beautiful inside, elegant yet cozy with a warm greeting from the staff. The menu is very typical of Thai places, we all got our normal items and enjoyed them. I had the Pad Thai with chicken at medium heat; it was spicy but not overkill. My husband, who likes Thai hot, was a little disappointed in his heat level on the Cashew nut Chicken, but he said he would just ask for extra hot next time. Food came out fast on a Saturday night, and everything was fresh. We loved their veggies because they were crunchy and cooked. This was my first visit to Thai Thai Cuisine on West 86th Street. Parking was easy with the numerous spaces in the strip center. The lunch special has 19 entrees to select from at $10.99. Meat options include chicken, beef, pork, tofu and veggie. Shrimp is $2.00 extra. Lunch specials include an entree, a large bowl of soup, salad and one egg roll. I ordered my favorite, Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Chicken Noodles) at a medium heat level and was not disappointed. My beverage, Sweet Thai Iced Coffee was excellent and had a small, cute paper rose in the tip of the straw. Pictured are the orange chicken and pad Thai entrees along with spring rolls as an appetizer (I highly recommend the spring rolls to start!) everything came to the table hot and fresh. Everything about this place is amazing...from decor and ambiance, the food, and the customer service! We ordered the shrimp fried rice, lobster fried rice, vegetable spring rolls, and crab rangoons! Okay minor oversight on my part I was so hungry I ate my lunch without taking pictures... so I will try to be as descriptive as I can. This bistro is located in a strip center along W 86th St in the former Sawasdee location. They layout is the same, but it has a new modern sleek look. I happened to be with my normal Sawasdee dining companion and we decided to give the new restaurant a try. We came in at lunch time and were promptly greeted and advised to sit where ever we wanted. There were a few diners but spread out so we felt safe with spacing. The lunch menu had a $9.99 lunch special with many entry options. My friend chose the Chicken Pad Thai and I went with the Chicken Pad Kra Pow. We both went with medium heat. Rather quickly we were brought out a small bowl of soup and a small salad. The soup was a translucent broth with a few peas a cubed carrots. It had a great flavor and reminded me in taste of the Thom Yum soup I have had before. The salad was an iceberg lettuce mix with a slightly creamy ginger dressing. Out entrees came out a little bit later freshly prepared and hot. Presentation was nice and the taste was pretty darn good. the veggies were perfectly prepared, as were the rice and noodles. Each entry also came with a fried spring roll. It was good, and the portions were large enough you could take some home for later or share if your not famished. I was quite happy with my entrée, my friend liked hers also but noted it was sweeter than the same dish that Sawasdee prepared (which was her favorite). This place is so good. It's located in an unassuming strip mall, but don't let that deter you. They do a lot of takeout business now, but if you dine-in, youre treated to a serene environment. The dining area is actually huge, but you can't really tell from the outside. The food is authentic Thai and can be made as spicy as you like. Ut you dont have to equate heat to flavor here. I hate to keep saying this. But I miss Sawasdee! As if Thai food isn't salty enough, this felt like they sprinkled the dish with more salt before serving. Water please. The Thai basil was beautifully presented but serving seemed kinda small. I didn't even like the dressing on the salad as much as other places. There was no bean sprouts or green onions like it stated under the description on line. The broth was bland chicken flavored. As the meat addition I asked for shrimp. It was the best part of the soup. I went to the restaurant and ordered carry out so can't speak to the service since I didn't eat in. Unfortunately very disappointed. Have been wanting to stop here since they opened just over a month ago. It's adorable inside. Staff was very attentive. They have a good sized and varied Thai menu with many traditional selections as well as some I haven't seen. Lots of choices for those of us that don't eat meat too! They are good about asking about your spice comfort level as well as highlighting in the menu. We started with the crab Rangoon's which were pretty average. I had the rice noodle soup with tofu which was awesome. The serving was huge and I had plenty for a couple more meals. Plenty of noodles, vegetables and tofu. We also ordered the yellow curry which I didn't try but my friend enjoyed and it sure smelled good. Try one of the ginger teas. Probably the best I've had. They seem to be staying busy with takeout but it was pretty quiet for a Friday night. Located in the old Sawasdee location, this place has big shoes to fill. The food is delicious, but has a different flavor than the previous place. So don't compare it to the old place, but take it in as a whole new experience and you will love it. I had the shrimp tempura as a appetizer and I was thrilled with the dish. Such a light and flaky coating over the giant shrimp. OMG. Yes I ate every one of those. The Chicken Padd Thai was wonderful. Not too sweet, not too hot, not too bland (I opt for medium usually). All of my guests seemed to be satisfied with their choices also, which is rare. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices are quite reasonable. Probably most beautiful presentation of fried rice I have seen. I ventured away from Curry and into new dish on Special menu, Khao Soy with chicken. This coconut broth soup had a Chicken Thigh in center of Thai vegetables and above a layer of thin rice noodles. The bowl was huge snd hearty. The top covered in the flour fried noodles we used to get with Chop Suey in the '80s. But this dish was no chop suey, it was full of flavor, warm and very filling. read more
