It is a clean restaurant but the set up of chairs seems crowded. It is definitely dated decor and walls need spruced up. I would imagine most of their customers are carryout or delivery. I don't think I'd want to sit here and dine. The addition of the live plants and bamboo is a nice touch but they could get rid of the artificial hanging plants. No menus made available to me so I had to remember what i saw online. There is the standard Chinese food screen above with no pricing. I ordered pork fried rice, spring rolls and steamed dumplings $19.06. I decided against the crab Rangoon because it only had 6. The workers were very friendly and smiling which is always great. They also brought my order to me and pointed out the sauces. They also gifted me a calendar to advertise the business. The fried rice was an odd color, like they put a lot of soy sauce in it. It lacked flavor though. It was like a 6/10. The spring rolls were nice and crispy on the outside but the dough was raw on the inside and could've used more filling and more flavor. The sauce for the dumplings was the flavor they had. I was disappointed because the reviews were mostly positive. I don't think I'll be back. read more

We did a pick up order from here as first time customer and we were not disappointed. Food was ready quickly and was very fresh and the staff was very nice. The shop was very clean and we appreciated their hospitality. The egg rolls where amazing and so balanced in flavor. We loved the lo mein and the orange chicken also. As a 1st timer and oft-worried about Soy/msg...staff allowed me time to explain dietary requests/needs which they fulfilled Magnificently. Steamed chicken/Steamed broccoli with garlic sauce. I ordered Bamboo house while staying in Indianapolis and I was not disappointed. Delivery was quick and they had no issues finding my room. We wound up ordering a large chicken fried rice and regular Lo Mein, the fried rice was hugeeee but you might still need to order more than one if you're trying to feed more than 2 people. The kids smashed the entire plate and left no crumbs, for me it was a bit bland but they definitely enjoyed it. The lo mein was okay a little too saucy for my liking. OMG! The best homemade eggrolls in the city of Indianapolis. I don't think any other Chinese restaurant makes their eggrolls by themselves in the kitchen. Tried this today for the first time. I ordered General Tso's, veggie fried rice, and veggie lo mein. The General Tso's was okay-not bad, but I've definitely had much better. The lo mein was okay, the fried rice was super bland. Overall, this was severely lacking in terms of flavor for a Chinese restaurant. Chose this because my normal place (Chow Express on Shadeland) is closed on Sundays. I would definitely put the taste below Chow Express on every item except for the Crab Rangoons, which was the best part of Bamboo House. While the Crab Rangoons were good, the rest of the food was way too bland for me to be back. Won't be trying again. read more

Originally I would always order Bamboo house on Uber eats, but today was my first time going physically and I have to say that place is amazing. We we're greeted and treated very well. The service was beyond my expectations all the way down to the cleanliness of the restaurant. There were so many options to choose from on the menu, far beyond what Uber eats offer. I like their General Tso's Chicken and their Crab Rangoon. Food is always ready for pickup when I arrive. It's located in a strip mall with clothing stores, vacant spaces, and other eateries. Extremely disappointed. They use to be my go to place. The last couple times the service has been poor and the food was meh. But today took the cake! I tried to place a large order for work for pick up. The guy answering the phone was nice enough but I could hear a guy in the background yelling at him about the large order. I used to order the orange chicken that came fresh with a crunch with a spicy orange sauce that came on top with a orange slice to top it all off. It came with white rice which was always soft and ready to be devoured. Jump to present day and I ordered during lunch, which can I say that businesses that offer lunch on the weekends... THANK YOU! Ooof this will not be my new carryout chinese place. I had heard some good things so I decided to give it a try. They have a huge menu but the food quality is borderline terrible. My crab rangoons were undercooked, my hot and sour soup was just plain gross. It was fatty and lacked any flavor whatsoever. My pork fried rice was decent, but a couple bites left bad taste in my mouth. The dumplings were flavorless and the sauce was just regular soy sauce. The general tso's chicken, and american chinese food staple, had a huge portion but again no flavor. And the sauce was just a think paste that was plastered onto the chicken. I usually give places a second chance, but the appearance of the resteraunt should have let me know I was in for a bad time. The place was dark, dirty, and had a child playing with his toys in the middle of the dining room. I would recommend skipping this place if you are needing some chinese food. read more
