I really like this Thai restaurant in North Park. It's a good option for me when I'm going to a show at Observatory, because it's only a few blocks away and an easy walk. The food is really good, and large portions. I usually have enough left for another meal, so I don't mind the slightly expensive prices. I've never had a bad dish here, and I tend to order yellow curry, peanut sauce dishes, and pad thai. All of them are delicious. I sometimes treat myself to a Thai tea as well. Service is fast and friendly, and I usually don't take long to decide. It's fairly fast to get in and out, which is great when I'm on a time schedule for a concert. The restaurant was decorated for Valentine's when I went recently, which was a cute touch. read more

My husband and I used to come here all the time back when management was different. Our main waiter literally watched our life unfold. From dating, to getting engaged, to getting married, to being pregnant with our first child. All the way until he eventually became the owner or manager. He was incredible and would bless us with a meal at every stage of our lives. After we moved away, we came back one day with a gift for him, craving our favorite dish and hoping to see him again, but he wasn't there anymore. That's when we were told he had left or sold the place. We tried to order anyway, only to find out that the Streetside Thai Chicken had been taken off the menu. We were absolutely heartbroken, and so were our family and friends. That dish was everything. We ordered it every single time. We got so many people hooked on it that family, friends, and classmates would come to San Diego just to order trays and multiple plates to take home with them.. sometimes five orders at a time! We haven't returned since it was removed because that dish was such a big part of what made this place special for us. Tried this place based off a post from another foodie @sandiegofoodluver posting boat noodles that I've been wanting to try a new spot for. Located in the heart of North Park so you gotta find parking and it can get a bit difficult. When I walked to the bathroom I saw my friend Phitsamai working in the kitchen which I didn't know. Hello sister! There was only 1 waiter who was doing everything from taking orders and bringing out foods and bills, etc amongst 5+ tables all at once. Since she was the only 1 it did take a bit but understandable. I ordered boat noodles, Lao style papaya salad, and my son got the pad prik kratiem pork belly. We agreed that the papaya salad was a bit salty. I enjoyed my boat noodles. I like how it came with not only different meats and meatballs but tripe which is omitted at other restaurants. We came across this place last minute for a date night. I don't believe they have any private parking, but there are plenty of street parking that you can find maybe one or two blocks away. It is located in the heart of North Park Main Street. The place was cozy and the lady that was working there was very nice and efficient. she was the only one working all the tables. I've got their Thai tea, two drunk noodles. They do have Thai beer so we tried a bottle too. I always think Thai spicy levels are hit or miss. I have asked for level four out of 10, which she said that was a hot level for a lot of people but I needed more spice in my food. Which was fine. She has brought out spices on the side for me. The Thai tea was good. We even took some home. Overall, this place was not memorable, but it's worth a try while you are in town. read more

Their Spring Rolls had 3 small pieces of shrimp that 1. barely covered half of the spring roll and 2. you couldn't even taste because the ratio of veggies is overwhelming. The peanut sauce was watery and didn't help the rolls. The Steam Dumpling Combo was small and bland. The dough was thicker than it should've been and completely took over the flavor. For my main, I got the Cashew Delight with chicken and it was not delightful. There was barely any chicken and it had no spice at all, but it was drowning in sauce. The veggies were the only good part. This was not filling either. Maybe they were having an off day based on other reviews, but I won't be back to find out. This place was recommend to us by our Airbnb host so we decided to check it out. The menu was extensive but everything we tried was pretty good. We started with peach Soju and a pina colada. Our appetizers were spring rolls and tom kha soup. The soup was the perfect blend of spices that warmed my belly and made me wish I ordered a larger portion. For entrees we had the street Thai rice, pineapple rice, and a spicy coconut curry salmon. Everything and I mean everything was soooo delicious. The waiter Tah was absolutely amazing. He was super helpful with ordering and even recommended we change our orders so we could enjoy more of the flavors when sharing. He made us feel comfortable and gave us tons of recommendations during our stay in San Diego. If you're in the North Park area I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. read more

The restaurant is located in North Park, and if you sit outside, it's the perfect spot for some people watching while you eat. The only thing keeping this from being a full five stars was that service was a bit slow. I think there was only one server, and since we were the only table outside, we got forgotten a couple of times. The restaurant air was filled with fresh ingredients making our mouth water. Looking over the menu was a mixture of Chinese and Thai food. We left all the ordering to the waiter. They have a range of spice levels to meet everyone's needs. The food was great and full of flavor. We were delighted with such bold flavors. We were greeted and sat right away, their menus are adorable, they have illustrated pictures of some of their food items, I thought that was a nice touch. For appetizers we got the fried avocado and Tom Kaha Soup to share, one of my coworkers is pregnant so we had to go with a #2 in spice, the flavor was great but I had to add some of the chili oil provided on the table to make it better. For my entree I got the drunken noodles spice level #8 and wow it was sooo good! I'm big on spicy food and this spice level was great, it's spicy but still enjoyable. Street side Thai kitchen is a fabulous Thai restaurant located in the heart of North Park. You definitely don't want to sleep on this place, they have delicious food, super friendly service, and I appreciate that they are open late. We stumbled upon this restaurant after a late night music venue attendance. On a Saturday night past 11pm options were limited on this block. We weren't feeling a bar type restaurant and we were happy when yelp pointed us in this direction showing they were open until midnight. The restaurant itself is very cute and welcoming. Traditional Thai system decor and the atmosphere was causal. Very comfortable as the tables and booths were spread out. We were also really impressed with how large the menu was here as you could easily find something for anyone. The staff here are very friendly and hospitable. They welcomed us and sat us quickly (it was late so the restaurant was empty). The waitress was quick to provide us with menus and get our drinks going. The gentlemen that took our order was also super friendly and helped me with suggestions when I was looking for their most popular pork belly dish. Between the four of us we ordered crispy garlic wings, crispy pork pad see ew, a pork belly dish with rice & a fried egg, and pad Thai. The food here is phenomenal. Truly delicious Thai food with great range in flavors. The dishes were plentiful, great portions. Also despite it being late into the night, they put a lot of love into their dishes. The pork belly dish I had was phenomenal (sorry can't find the name of it). It was a crispy & fatty bits of pork belly in a tasty sauce, with some veggies and fried Thai basil leaves, with some white rice and an over medium fried egg. Heavenly. All of the food was great. I would say staff, food, and ambiance were all a 5/5. I'd highly recommend this spot if your looking for good yet causal Thai food in SD. Wonderful. I had dinner here on 11/2/2025. The food is fantastic. I started with the coconut shrimp. It was really outstanding. Probably the best that I've ever had. Then I had the Mango chicken. It was so good. But I had to ask for more mango sauce because it seemed to have been under dressed. My waitress brought more and this solved the issue. It was also very good and tender. I felt bad for my waitress because she seemed to be the only one waiting on tables. When I first arrived at 4:45 pm it wasn't that busy but by the time I left she had nine tables. This is by far some of the BEST Thai food I've had in Dago. Popped in on a cold Saturday night and was happy to get a table for our group. Our waiter was hilarious ! Such a great personality and was very attentive to our group. Food was 10/10! The flavors were amazing. We enjoyed each dish and the ambience was great. At one point the lights were off and it was better in my opinion. Lots of party night lights that were enough to see our food (do that more often).
