Summary: Close to the Westin Gaslamp but mediocre food Food: Had the Thai Basil. Generous portion but it tasted and felt like the chicken was cooked earlier in the day and then added to the stir fry at cold with veggies. The temperature of the chicken was simply tepid whereas the veggies were served hot. Also, the chicken was a bit stringy. Overall poor food prep and quality. Flavors were simply average. I'm really dinging Thai Time for the food prep and low quality, stringy chicken. Ambiance: Strip mall going into foreclosure Service: super fast Overall cleanliness: average

This review is solely based on a GrubHub order so I've never dined in or personally have ordered from the restaurant. They were open late and I was craving Thai and read good reviews. Everything was neatly packaged and the items that could potentially spill had plastic wrap over the container which is smart. I ordered yum woon sen spice level 10, kai qua spice level 8, and crab angles. Right off the bat their spicy to me is not that spicy so in the event you're looking for extra spicy they do add extra chili powder but still not spicy enough for me. Yum woon sen was good it came with ground pork and shrimp. Although the menu on GrubHub states it also includes calamari but it wasn't present in my dish. Kai qua was okay I felt like it was just a plain stir fry noodle dish. What I mean is that it's on the plainer side compared to pad kee mao, pad see ew, or lard nah but it still packed a lot of flavors. Reminds me of like a Lao stir fry noodle dish like kua mee but different flavors and noodles. If that makes sense. The crab angles were not the business. It was literally a huge chunk of cream cheese with tiny pieces of imitation crab that were not enough to mix in with the cream cheese. Had no flavor or no green onions for color. It did come with sweet and sour sauce which saved it a bit.

My bf and I ordered takeout from here for the first time tonight and I put no spice for mine, the pad see ew, I can't handle heat lol. But when I got it home and went to take a bite I noticed it was spicy as hell! I turned on my flash and it was absolutely COVERED in hot chili flakes. It almost felt intentional how much chili flakes were on it The food was good otherwise but a lot less enjoyable with my mouth on fire.

I hate to leave a bad review as this place used to be excellent. Maybe it was an off day? I ordered an expensive beef dish, it was $20 I forgot the name of it. Ribeye maybe? And the crab fried rice. It was awful and the meat was chewy I couldn't eat it. I ended up throwing it all away and eating the white rice. Service was nice although when I asked about the crab fried rice and she said it was OK, I should have ordered something else. I ordered take out so I didn't dine inside. My food was well packed with utensils. However my food was not worth $40.

Lunch special pad see ew with chicken!

A great lunch spot for the area! Their lunch menu is amazing, ranging from $11-$13, which includes some fried sides, salad, a soup, and an entree! Another pro is that you can get in and out usually within an hour. Service is pretty quick, which is great if you're on a tight schedule. Our server brought us boxes without us asking and took our order minutes after we sat down. My go-to is the pad see ew which I think is DELICIOUS. You cannot go wrong. However, with spice level, I'd stay within the 2-3 range to be safe. I got 4 and it already had a kick. No complaints. This restaurant is a very short walk from the local courthouses, great especially if you're in jury duty. Not much parking around, so it's best to walk here if you can.

Hat Yai Chicken - I don't know how such a crispy texture could feel this airy and light at the same time, but they nailed it with the both the batter and the chicken meat itself. It takes someone truly special who knows what they're doing to produce delicious and juicy chicken breast. This chicken itself was extremely flavorful and the sauce it came with took it to the next level. Crispy Crabs - I could snack on this every single day and not be tired. These things are so tasty! The texture makes it super fun to eat and the marinade and seasoning is absolutely addicting. Pomelo Salad - Completely blew my mind at first bite. This is a dish I've seen before and tried to replicate at home without ever knowing what it was supposed to taste like. I thought my creation was decent until I tried Sovereign's version. So this is how it's really done. This dish put mine to shame (and I'm a pretty decent cook if I do say so myself). I don't think I have the audacity to make it at home again after tasting theirs. It is SO good!!! Bangkok Street Noodles - This is a brand new dish for me and the very first time I've ever had it anywhere. With that said, my point of reference isn't the best when trying to compare it. But I will say that the broth is extremely unique and tasty. Loved all the protein that came with the dish although I don't care for the basic boiled egg. I also wish it came with a lot more broth because I prefer a soupy noodle dish. I absolutely loved everything we tried here and was raving about each dish. It's the type of food that was so good, I was making very indecent noises at the table the entire duration of our meal.

Well, I was impressed by their food and the service provided by K. We ordered Pork Loin and pork belly chop, curry noodles with duck, papaya salad, and braised beef ribs. They were all soooooo good. I ordered Mango Sticky Rice for dessert and they offered a free scoop of ice cream for my birthday. Our waiter K was knowledgeable about the food and was very friendly. I rarely give 5 stars but this one checks all the boxes. It's a bit pricey for Thai food but it's worth the visit. It's a Michelin restaurant for a good reason.

I got us a beautiful Airbnb right next to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Girls School (mind out of the gutter, please). It's gorgeous, but we didn't know where to eat. I did a quick Yelp Search; thank you, Yelpers! I found this place. It was only a stone's throw from where we are staying, which is a beautiful little neighborhood! I was very hungry for some reason, probably from all the moving and lifting of boxes, but we came here. I had the Garlic Pepper w/tofu stir fry, and my husband had the lo mein with mock duck. For an appetizer, we had the tofu spring rolls! DELISH. Becky, our gracious server, was wonderful and was kind enough to break out our bill. I had two Chardonnay nays (Martin reference), which were only $ 10.00 each- good wine and cheaper than that current white wine at the Whistle Stop. My dish was very good. I love the crispy broccoli, and they put some type of cabbage slaw mixed with the sauce in it, which was incredible. My husband loved his lo mein. I am not a fan of lo mein, but whatever, it smokes his shorts. We are moving out of San Diego, so over the next three to four months we will be going to new places in other neighborhoods to try them out before we leave. Beautiful ambiance too; I love the way it's decorated. They are the same group that owns my other favorite Thai place, Plumeria. One last note: some genius wrote that this isn't a good place for vegetarians; I giggled when I saw it on Yelp. Lots of vegetarian and vegan choices right on their menu.

I got the lowest spice level since I don't do spice, and it was perfect for me. It came with three pieces of shrimp, and the portion was a good size for lunch. The service was great. Our waiter kept our waters refilled, and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The portions were a decent size and definitely enough to fill you up for lunch. The inside is cute and has a nice atmosphere. There was also plenty of street parking, which is always a plus. Overall, I had a good experience and am looking forward to coming back to try some of their other dishes!

Note the interior is pretty small and probably best suited for parties of 4 or less.  TOM YUM FRENCH FRIES AND WINGS: We ordered both to share with the table, and both were crispy and tasty! The fries looked super plain, but I couldn't stop reaching back for more. They're both labelled as spicy, so we were a bit worried for someone in our group who cannot handle spice at all. But even he said they weren't spicy at all--mostly just sweet. So don't let the chili pepper symbol scare you away from ordering! KHAO SOI (CHICKEN): It's not as common to see khao soi on the menu as some of the other more popular noodle dishes, so I usually try to order this if it's available!
