Honestly, the best Vietnamese porkchop rice (Com Suon Nuong) in SD (but with a higher price tag). Pho Bo is in a trendier area than some of SD's class Viet restaurants and the prices are a bit higher, but the rice dishes are consistently delicious. We got the com suon nuong and the char and marinade are excellent every time. We also got the fried chicken leg over fried rice and it was delicious as well! The pho is pretty solid but doesn't beat Pho Hoa for me. However Pho Hoa ONLY serves pho so if you're hoping for a variety of dishes (including rice dishes), Pho Bo is my pick. read more

Have been craving pho for a while now so decided to give Pho Bo a try. Gotta say, their food is solid. Started with their Cha Gio (egg rolls) which came with lettuce, herbs and of course nuac cham for dipping. Wrap a roll in lettuce and herbs and get to dunking. Crispy, savory, sweet all the things really, very well done. For pho I went with Dac Biet that was loaded with all the goods. Meatballs, rare steak, tendon, and fatty brisket were all so tender and that broth, so fragrant and balanced. Plus ample amount of rice noodles. I was in slurpy heaven! I did take out and everything was packaged perfectly. Fortunately Pho Bo is close to where I live so my order arrived piping hot. Good job! After dropping our luggage off since it was too early to check-in, I was thrilled that Gavin wanted Asian. The Uber ride was less than 8 minutes. We were the first to walk in. They open at 9. I ordered delivery from Pho Bo to my hotel. I tried the grilled pork summer roll, and the rare and flank pho. Overall, food was good. Though I do have a few suggestions. 1. The summer roll tasted great. My only complaint was that I wish there was peanut instead fish sauce. The flavor of the roll would have gone a lot better with peanut sauce. The picture online also showed peanut sauce, otherwise I would have asked for it. 2. The pho has good flavor, and the meat is plentiful. However, the rare steak in the pho was raw. This was usually fine at the restaurant because the boiling hot broth will cook the meat to a perfect medium rare. But for someone who ordered delivery from a hotel, I do not have the means to reheat the broth. And the broth was just warm to the touch, definitely not hot enough to cook the meat. I suggest that for delivery orders, maybe briefly cook the raw meat in broth, for just 5 seconds, before packaging it. My entire hotel saw me carrying a bowl and soup tub going floor to floor looking for a microwave... Overall, I like the food. And want to eat there in person sometime so I can get the best experience with the food. read more

I love Vermicelli Rice Noodles, everything in my Bowl was flavorful, the grilled Pork and egg roll were delicious with all those noodles, sauces, and veggies. The main reason I came back here 3 more times already was because of their PHO BO (RIBS & SHANK) SOUP! This is so good, I really like the BROTH here on the RIBS & SHANK, the Rib's size was good, but I wish that they could make it so that the Meat of the Ribs is easy to pull apart from the bone. But the meat is still tender when it's already separated from the Bone, it's still soft to eat, it's not hard or chewy at all and the meat is also very tasty. All in all, I love their RIBS soup here.
