Thai Town was recommended to us by our friends. The food was absolutely tasteless. I ordered the chicken fried rice, not only was the fried rice unseasoned, but the onions were raw and the chicken hard. I inquired as to if they could redo my fried rice. Her answers was something like, that is how we prepare our rice and that one would need to asked them to sauteed the onions and rice the next time I come and they could do so. She also stated that they were too busy to redo my order. I told her that I have NEVER heard of anything like this. Trust me, this is amazing to me to tell them how to cook chicken fried rice. The advent of Thai wives meant Thai restaurants galore in the areas around military bases. And this area is no exception. Though I have to admit, they make a good curry that is probably the best in this area. In terms of curry at least, this is my go-to Thai restaurant in the NW Florida region. Why not five stars then? Well the place smells a little weird when you walk in and it's not exactly atmospheric. Service tend to be spotty. I ate in here once for dinner and we were one of the last patrons, at 830pm, and they kicked us out, and asked for cash tip because the credit card machine was not working properly. Not exactly the most professional bunch here but then again, this is the best Thai curry I've had in the area, on par with Thailand almost. So there ya go bitches. The owner and head chef is the grandmother of a good friend of mine. However, trust that I won't let that sway my judgement in any which way. So - this is authentic Thai cuisine. You're getting that old country taste and you probably don't even know it. I get schooled pretty much every time I come here. They take pride in their food and they'll talk your ear off about it if you ask. Also, this is a little far for Airmen to be driving from Eglin AFB to be getting lunch, but this place is almost always packed with military for lunch, which is always a good sign. Ordered my food to go on Oct 24, 2019 when I was visiting for work. One of my orders was Combination Pad Se Ew no pork. Got to my hotel, open my bag and I did not receive Pad Se Ew as ordered. I called and told them I received regular chicken Pad Se Ew. The lady said she will check my ticket and call back. She did call back and apologized that she made a mistake. She proceeded by telling me that they can make another dish and for me to pick it up OR they will refund the credit card. I opted to get the refund. However, as of today, I've never received the refund yet. It's not about the amount of money, it's about the principle. Additionally, I had better papaya salad elsewhere. I don't know if it was the end of day, the cook didn't feel well or whatever. It wasn't taste good at all. read more

As far as Thai food goes, it's okay. I'd give it three stars, but I was quoted 30 min for takeout and it was an hour and a half. I would not recommend this restaurant. I ordered Thai chicken salad and my dad ordered pork larb and chicken wings. The chicken wings were the worst looking Thai chicken wings I have ever seen. Not only did they look terrible (wish I took a picture) they tasted just as bad. We weren't happy and we asked to have it taken back. The server asked us if we have had the wings from there before and a few other questions before a lady came and asked us about the wings some more and people started coming out to see who returned the wings. This is unacceptable. If someone returns the food just take it back and take it off the bill without making a show about it. I felt very uncomfortable and annoyed because it shouldn't be a big deal. If you like being interrogated and eating mediocre Thai food this is the place for you! I recommend Pad Thai or Thai Hut instead. read more

Super disappointing. First time and they told me half an hour for pickup. We came after 30 minutes and I had to wait another 30. One lady taking orders would tell people on the phone and another would tell an hour. Very disorganized and do not plan on visiting again unless I feel like sitting around wasting my time. I have not had a lot of options when it comes to ethnic food having lived in Montana. But i was pleasantly surprised while settling down to to a mixture of fried rice and pad thai. It was delicious. I travel back and forth from boston to florida. Every time I travel to fort Walton, I always have to stop by this place. It is my go to thai restaurant. I always get the basil fried rice. It is the best basil fried rice that I had ever tasted! To top it off I ordered a large thai tea to go. Their thai tea was amazing and wow the size when you say large its actually a very large size! As we approached the building all I could think was, "wow, what a shit hole." But to my surprise, the inner decor was slightly less sketchy, complete with tacky Thai tapestries and elephants galore. But if you're willing to look past the building's appearance, the food is fantastic. We also decided to give the papaya salad a try, we've never had it before so we really have nothing to compare it to but from what we were given, I would definitely order it again. For my main course I chose the green curry with beef, pork, shrimp, and chicken, it was bursting with flavors. The spiciness was a bit overwhelming, after accidentally ordering it spicy instead of mild. My bad. But a satisfying dish overall. My sister, mom and aunt had the Pad Thai, Red Curry, and Chicken Mixed Vegetable, all were seasoned to perfection, let's just say there wasn't a crumb left on any of the plates. All came in good portions for the price payed, and the Pad Thai was huge, as most Pad Thai's that I've eaten are. They're serious about their spice temperatures, so be weary of your taste buds, my sister got her Pad Thai medium and it was enough to make her nose run. The waitress was very attentive and polite. making sure we were happy every 10 or so minutes, and filling our waters promptly. This place has fantastic food and service. My favorite dishes are the panang curry and the beef salad. The staff is super nice and and will treat you like a member of the family. After moving from a major city where I could get cheap, amazing Asian food whenever I want to a small town with fake white people Asian food, I thought that this was the end of good Asian food for a while. After some tough Google searching, I found that Thai Town was the best place for Pho in the area. And I was craving some Pho. The place looks like the typical tacky Thai restaurant. And that made me more excited, since they tackier the better. We ended up finding they didn't serve Pho but had something that was pretty much the same thing. The meal was very good, but it took a long time to get to us. I noticed that it took around 30 min to get meals out the door. I've cooked Pho before and I know it doesn't take that long. And there were only a few other people in there too. And a few screaming kids.... The only reason I'm very hesitant to go back ever is it's wayyyyyyyyyy too expensive for the value. 30$ for Pho? Uhhh... I can get the same meal in California for 15$. And it comes 2x as fast. I'd go and try it out. If you love it, go for it, but I think I'm going to pass and try to find another place. read more

Disappointing! The To go service was a Shit show! I had to tell the woman 3 times which order was mine, each time she pointed at a different ticket. They told me 20-25 mins and I still waited 20 min after I arrived, to clarify I called 20min before I arrived. The food was not the best quality. I have had lots of Thai and this wasn't nearly as good as half the places I have been to. Just because a place is busy doesn't mean they are on point. If you are picky you might not want to go here.
