I had high hopes for this place, having read the reviews, but I have to say I am disappointed. Maybe the food is better if you eat in, but I ordered lunch delivery and it wasn't anywhere near a satisfying experience. I got appetizer Pop pop shrimp, chicken pad see ew, and chicken fried rice. I had to order minimum $20, so I'd hoped to have a few days lunches covered. First of all, the photo that have with the description of the shrimp is NOT what you get. The ones that looked ok had an acceptable flavor, but you could see that a lot of the shrimp hadn't been cleaned. The "sweet and spicy" sauce was more thick and mayonaisey than I'd have expected, and without the spicy kick. The pad see ew was the worst of the dishes. It tasted like it was cooked in a burnt pan. The flavor was way off. I get pad see ew almost every time I order Thai, and this may be the worst I've ever had. The fried rice was a bit of the bland side, but was the most edible of the things I received, although I don't think there was any sauce or seasoning on the chicken. Overall, it's a bummer. My usual go to Thai place around here changed owners and is comparably bad now, so I was really hoping for a new option. Guess I'll have to keep searching. read more

This restaurant was a lovely surprise! On the outside you won't expect much because of the shopping center it is located in. But when you go inside the decor is quite delightful and very cozy and welcoming! The staff is friendly and efficient. We had been in Manassas in late afternoon and were heading home to Woodbridge on Rt 234. We had passed the Fair Grounds and were stopped at a traffic light and happened to look up to the right and my husband said "Hey, there's a Thai Place!" We decided to have a late lunch, early dinner and went inside. Lovely decor, friendly waitstaff and a comfortable atmosphere. We ordered appetizers and soup, Duck Roll, Steamed Dumplings, Tom Yum soup and Duck Noodles Soup. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be going back again. read more

This is where the Mandarine House used to be, but it's a far cry from that old, run down place. Thai Tyme has totally renovated the place! It's much more upscale and there's "normal" music playing. I had the shrimp tempura and the crab fried rice which I was pleasantly surprised with because it had so much crabmeat. I will definitely come back to eat that again. The shrimp tempura was deliciously crispy on the outside and was well worth the price of $6.95 (5 pieces). I really could have enjoyed a cold beer with my meal but they don't have their liquor license yet, but the owner says they will very soon. :) Try this place- you won't be disappointed. read more

We went to Thai Tyme last weekend, it was my second time there. The first was shortly after they had opened and before I started writing Yelp reviews. The atmosphere is quiet and the restaurant is charming. The fried wontons made for a delicious starter. One of us had the Chicken with Rice Noodles. It featured a generous portion of chicken and broad rice noodles and a pleasant smoky flavor. Another of us had the Peanut Sauce Curry with Tofu. As with most Thai curries it featured a coconut flavor. While I usually don't care for coconut flavor, I thought the dish was very well balanced and I would consider ordering it in the future. I had my favorite Thai dish: Crispy Duck. We have visited several Thai restaurants around Manassas and this has to be the best Crispy Duck I have had in the area! Pleasantly spicy without being too spicy, wonderfully crispy, and down right delicious. I am certain that we will return in the not too distant future. read more

Beautiful plating and beautiful plates. They honored my vegetarianism while make my meat eating husband happy. My heat loving vs his mild. I was very impressed with this small restaurant. I am very disappointed by the way we were treated today. Let me first say that the food is really good here and any in house dinning experiences we have had has been great in the past. I recommend the duck soup and their crab rangoon are so good. So today I placed an order for delivery like inhave done in the past. Since we are so close it usually only takes a half hour or so. I ordered directly through the restaurants website. Their online ordering system is run by a third party Chow Now. I placed the order around 12:20PM and at 12:30PM I got a email saying my order would be delivered at 2:04PM. The email said any questions call the restaurant directly. I called the restaurant to see if it was a typo. The woman that answered seemed annoyed that I questioned if the delivery time was correct. She went on to tell me they were to busy to make the order they had a party of 34 people there. I was kind of taken back by the fact that she would tell a customer that they are too busy for my order. I asked her what time could it be ready if we picked it up. She let out a long sigh mumbled a little bit and then said 30 maybe 45 minutes in an annoyed tone that I would still want food from them knowing that they are busy. I asked her if I could cancel the order and she said I have to call chow now and hung up. I tried to call chow now and after 20 minutes of not getting through I went to their online chat. I explained I was having an issue with my order they asked for the order number which I provided and said to hold on they have to get a representative for me. It took another ten plus minutes to get someone. I had to type everything again and asked them to cancel the order. The representative would only respond if I asked if they were still there the process for him to tell me that the restaurant needs to cancel the order took forever. I explained to him that the restaurant told me they were to busy and for me to contact them to cancel the order. I had to wait for the rep to contact the restaurant and then he confirmed that he canceled everything and the credit to my credit card will be available in 3 to 7 business days. So basically I got nothing and now have $46 of funds I can't use. 1. The restaurant could have handled the way the spoke to me more kindly and should never tell a customer they are too busy for their business. 2. The restaurant should have properly cancelled the order like they are supposed to instead of making me do their job. 3. Chow now should have something in place that is a restaurant can not accept orders they can opt out or at least warn the customer there is an extremely long wait time before they take their order and their money. I basically wasted my time from 12:20PM until 1:20PM for nothing. As much as I love the food and atmosphere of the restaurant I think me and my family will no longer be regulars if come back at all. There are plenty of options in this area you should treat your customers with kindness and respect. read more

We recently moved into one of the complexes near this restaurant. I ordered takeout yesterday because I simply didn't feel like going to get groceries and it was a great idea. I got the chicken noodle soup and dumplings. The dumplings were AMAZING. I could have eaten 3x what I did. The soup was good. I liked that the noodles were in a separate container so they didn't absorb too much broth. My fiancé was a little jealous I got it without him so we'll probably be ordering again soon! read more

My most recent (and last!) order, the portions were very small and the green curry was like watery soup. The bill was like $35 for two people and it really was not worth it. We don't eat out often but this was one of our go-to choices when we did. We've eaten in the restaurant but most often would grab take out. I was very disappointed in our most recent order. When I called in the order the woman said it would be 15-20min, so 10min later my husband got in the car to go the 3 blocks over. They do a nice job of packaging their food so it's easy to carry and usually keep everything hot. The fried tofu tasted like they used Progresso italian breadcrumbs and the dipping sauce was from a jar (pretty sure I have the same sauce in my fridge). The GNR chicken was COLD and so was the rice that went with it! It was 830pm so I wasn't going to bring it back, I just wanted to eat so in the microwave it went. The beef pad se ew was hot but the noodles must have been sitting previously because several were stuck together with no sauce on them. While this is not typical of our previous experiences I'm not sure we'll order from here again when there are other thai places in the area. read more

This was my second visit to Thai Tyme - this time we had a friends birthday there, we had 8 in our party. I had made reservations - when we arrived they had our table ready for us. We shared 6 appetizers, had cocktails, dinner, and cake. They also assisted us with the cake by providing us a knife, additional plates and forks. All of the meals looked wonderful and everyone seemed very pleased with their food and service. The portions were generous and appropriate for the cost. The only suggestion I have is to work on the timing of the meals, we had about 5 of the meals and had to wait for the additional ones to be served. With that said, I do understand that we had 8 different entrees at one time. Being a Wellington resident, it's nice to have some place good so close to home! read more

I love just about everything on the menu except for the pad thai. It's both darker in appearance and sweeter than any that I've had at other Thai restaurants. And to be fair, we've ordered it on 3 different occasions. Also, thumbs up on the curry fried rice, regular fried rice and pineapple fried rice. The panang curry was pretty good and the beef noodles soup is also good. Best thing about this place is that it's beautiful inside and the staff is super friendly so we'll continue to dine here for sure! I will just forego the pad thai. ;-) read more

This is the last time I order food from or dine at Thai Tyme. Today, I ordered curry puffs and yellow curry with chicken. The curry puffs were really good, however, the potatoes in the curry dish were raw AGAIN! It's not hard to boil potatoes...I even asked the person who handled my order today to ensure the potatoes were cooked thoroughly because I had problems with them in the past. I am SO disappointed in myself for wasting my time and money again. My dinner is in the trash and I will not return to the restaurant again. read more

Went here today with my boyfriend and we were very impressed!! I usually don't find any good thai places around where I live, but this was sooo good. We got a lot of food for a really good price.
