Had a great take out lunch today! The food was prepared fast and the meal was so flavorful! I ordered the Thai spring rolls. You could tell they were made fresh. For my entree, I had the Pad Cashew. Chicken was fresh and cooked well, plus there was plenty of veggies and rice. Maybe a few more cashews could be added to make it top notch. After lunch, I'm feeling full and satisfied. Tonight we ate at the new Thai Villa and thoroughly enjoyed it. We thought the food and service were excellent. The appetizers were some of the best Thai offerings we've had and we both enjoyed our dinner entrees- Pad See Ew and Bangkok Shrimp. We chatted with the owner who was very friendly. PLEASE eat here! The food is terrific. The proprietor is extremely sweet and passionate about his food. As a B'ville resident, we have really good American Chinese (across the street), Chipotle, fresh sandwiches (Jersey Mike's), lots of good pizza (Lenny's is the best!).... further into town, there are other really nice restaurants... but only ONE Thai flavor for miles around. The Thai Villa BYOB is amazing! Don't let the construction in the Bernardsville shopping center dissuade you from eating the fantastic Thai food at the newish Thai Villa restaurant. We started w the homemade pan fried dumplings w ginger soy sauce, which were delicious and delicate. We shared two dishes; the Pad Kee Mao ( better known as Drunkin Noodle) which was the best I have eaten anywhere and we are Thai aficionados. Better than "Up Thai" in NYC. Our second dish was the Chef's Special Crispy Duck breast ( no bones) w green curry & had pieces of avocado, red bell pepper, mushrooms . The Duck was awesome and I was surprised that the avocado was perfect w the green curry. It was listed under Chef Specials on a separate piece of paper on inside front cover of menu. The food was so good that we ate every last bite even though we usually bring home leftovers. BYOB. We were thrilled to have a Thai restaurant come to town, and they have not disappointed. We have ordered take-away three times, and every meal has been wonderful. All of their curries are very tasty; their Pad Thai is great; and their Thai fried rice is the best dish we have ordered. We really, really hope that they make it and stay in Bernardsville for years to come. The only thing I would skip is the soup - it isn't as yummy as the other dishes. Terribly disappointing lunchtime takeout pad Thai. A plastic box of light brown springy mass with rice noodes and peanuts (smelled like peanut butter actually) but no recognizable pad Thai flavor. Very little flavor at all, actually. I was excited to order "four out of five" spicy but the dish had no heat whatsoever, only some flecks of stale dry red pepper. No fresh bird peppers or fresh ingredients of any kind, except some bean sprouts, a little bit of scallion, and a wedge of juiceless lime. No fish sauce. No tamarind. No taste. Sad food that could have come from any sad chinese-style restaurant. Made me so sad I spent the rest of my lunch break writing this review. :.( read more

This place is absolutely delicious and was a gem for what we were looking for in the area. I got the Mee Siam which came recommended by the waiter and wasn't disappointed. He also recommended the appropriate level of spicy ness for what I was hoping for. Given the reasonable lunch special prices, will definitely be back often! New authentic Thai restaurant in Bernardsville. We a group 5 go to ThaiVilla for dinner last night. We order duck salad, chicken skewers and pan fry dumpling,and all this appetizers taste so good.For the entries the friendly manager recommended mango chicken, Bangkok shrimp, mee Siam and musamun curry to us. Had dinner last night with another couple and all of us enjoyed our meals. Began with spring rolls- greaseless and with nice dipping sauce. Next, I enjoyed my curry dish with rice noodles and shrimp and pork. An extremely generous portion and at $13.95, an extremely good value. I am always concerned when a dish is presented in a restaurant - is it going to be hot enough(heat hot, not spice hot). This dish must have come directly from the wok to my table in world record time. Had to actually wait till it cooled in order to eat. Speaking of spice hot, the curry was just right in this respect -definitely there, but not overpowering. Service was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. With 68 choices on the menu, there is surely something for everyone. Finished with a mango mousse cake-not heavy, refreshing and big enough to share. Would definitely return. read more
